Part 1
It was a fine summer morning, perfect to be outdoors. Two sisters had been out mushroom picking, and were on their home with heavy baskets full of mushrooms. They sang songs on the way, and played with each other.
Soon they reached a point where they had to cross a railway track. They did not think twice about crossing it since there was no train coming, and they could not hear any whistle. They slowly climbed the embankment to cross the track, taking care not to drop the baskets. They were very near the track and the little sister was about the cross it, when they heard the distinct horn of a train.
The older sister got frightened and ran back. She thought that the young one was following her. She turned back and was shocked to see her little sister still crossing the track. "Come back here, run back fast," she screamed.

Once two friends called Harry and Garry came to a city to earn money. They went to a rich merchant for a job. The merchant gave each of them a cane basket and pointing towards a well in his garden said, Take these baskets and draw water from the well till dusk.
Harry thought it foolish to draw water in a cane basket. So, he slept. On the other hand, Garry kept working. After few hours, when he drew the basket up, he saw some gold coins in the basket
He took them to the merchant who rewarded him and gave him a job too. Harry went away ashamed.

The Crane and the Snake
Part 1
In a forest close to the river bank mere lived a crane with his wife. They were very unhappy. Every time the wife laid eggs in their nest, a big black cobra who lived in a hollow in the tree, would eat them up. The crane had a friend the crab. He went to his friend the crab and shared his misery. "I feel so hopeless....That sneaking thief has eaten our eggs again," complained the crane angrily.
"Don't worry," said the crab comfortingly. "You need not be hopeless when you have a friend like me. We will come up with a solution."
The crab sat to think of a plan. Suddenly he jumped up and rushed to the crane.
"Friend, I have a wonderful plan," said the crab and whispered something into the crane's ear.
The crane flew back to his nest and told his wife all about the crab's plan. He was very excited.
"Are you sure this will work?" asked the wife.

When Adversity Knocks
Part 2
Mary was totally annoyed and asked him, why would her father do those stupid things? He asked her to wait for a few more minutes with patience.
The impatient daughter managed to wait for around 15 minutes.
The Father removed the potato from the pot and placed in a plate and did the same with eggs. He filtered the tea decoction using a cup.
Now, he placed the two plates, one with the potato and the other with the egg, and the cup of tea in front of Mary.
He asked Mary,
‘What do you see?‘
She said, ‘Potato, Egg and a cup of tea!‘
‘No, you are wrong,‘ said the father.
‘Look at it closely and answer me.‘
Mary replied the same.
‘Now touch it and reply me.‘ The potato was cooked and was so soft, the egg was boiled hard and the tea carried the nice aroma.
Mary couldn‘t find the correct answer. Her father replied,
‘The potato was so hard and strong before they were boiled; now they turned soft and smooth. Also, the egg was too delicate but after boiling it became too hard. Sip the tea, it is delicious!‘
Mary asked, ‘What does it mean father? I don‘t understand!‘
‘Each object responded differently to water. That is how you have to be?
Each object was put under the same kind of circumstance, faced similar adversity, but reacted differently. The potato, when put in boiling water, became very weak. The crumbled egg became very hard, when we put in boiling water. And the tea leaves are unique. It changed the water itself, giving it unique flavour and aroma! It gave something new.‘
Mary understood that we could create something new and unique even when we experienced adversity.
So, what are you? A potato or an egg or a tea leaf?

One day, a stranger was going through the pasture. Seeing the costly bell around the cow's neck, he went to the shepherd and asked if he would sell the bell.
Out of greed, the shepherd sold the bell. But now he could not know where his best cow was grazing.
On getting an opportunity, the stranger stole the cow. Thus, the shepherd lost his best cow just because of his greed.

The teak ignored the herb's words. He continued to praise himself.

After few days, the police came and said that because of Ronnie's sketch, the gangster was caught. Ronnie's father praised him and then never stopped him from drawing.

The king was born with one eye. He had vision on his right eye and the space for left eye was simply closed with the skin! One day, he wanted to get himself painted and made an announcement. After filtering the talented artists, the king asked three men to draw his face.
He told them, 'If you do an impeccable job, I will reward you with something you won't even earn in your life time! If not, you will be severely punished!'
All the three agreed and started to sketch his face.

Very surprisingly, one day, the police officer was very surprised that everyone who drove on the road was under the prescribed speed limit. There was none that crossed the speed limit.

Finally, he spoke up, "Dad, if somehow the lion comes out of the cage and eats you up, then how will I get back home? At least tell me the route to reach home.
Danny's father laughed at the innocent question of the son.

Once upon a time two cats found a piece of cheese and cut it into two pieces. But one piece was slightly bigger than the other.
Both the cats wanted the bigger piece. Then they went ton a monkey and asked to sort out the matter.
The monkey said, "Don't worry. I'll make both the pieces equal.Then it took a bite from the bigger piece. But this made the other piece larger.
So it took a bite from the other piece. This continued till the pieces became very small.
Seeing this, the cats pleaded, "Sir! We are satisfied. Let us have the pieces now."
The shrewd monkey replied, "This is my fee for sorting out the problem." Saying this, it gobbled up the remaining cheese.

The Crane and the Snake

"I hope we are not making a mistake. Think twice before going ahead with the plan."
But the crane was eager to try out the plan. The crane flew down to the river bank and began to fish. He caught several little fishes and went down to the hole in which a mongoose lived. He dropped a fish at the mouth of the hole. Then he took another fish and dropped it a little further away from the first one. Repeating this, he made a trail of fishes leading to the tree where his nest was.
The mongoose smelt the fish and came out of the hole. "Ah, a fish!" exclaimed the mongoose joyfully and quickly ate it up. He then followed the trail of fishes. As he neared the tree where the cranes and the snake lived, the trail ended. Finding no more fishes, he looked around.
Suddenly he came across the black cobra at the foot of the tree. Seeing the mongoose, the cobra fought for his life. Both fought for a long time and in the end the mongoose killed the snake. The cranes who were watching the fight from their nest sighed with relief.
The next day the mongoose began to follow the same trail hoping to find more food. When he came to the tree where the trail ended, he decided to climb the tree in search of food.
The cranes who were away at the river bank returned to find the mongoose climbing down the tree. On looking in their nest, they discovered that this time, the mongoose had eaten up all their eggs.
"Alas! We got rid of one enemy only to find another," said the crane to his wife.

Part 1
Mary was a young girl. She had a major problem that she got annoyed with everything. She felt bad about everything and just always carried a negative thinking. She used to get angry as well as got frightened of everything. She developed all these negative aspects suddenly. One day she felt she was so miserable and requested help from her dad.
She told him that if she was able to manage and solve a problem, another one followed quickly and it got repeated. Her father consoled her and took her to the kitchen.
He asked Mary to take a potato, an egg and two spoonfuls of tea leaves. Mary was surprised, and asked her father ‘do you want me to cook?‘
Her father denied. He then took three vessels and poured one cup of water in each vessel. Each vessel was placed on the stove. Once the water started to boil, he dropped potato in a vessel, egg in the second one and tea leaves in the third one.

Part 1
Once a goat was grazing on the grassy slope of a hill near a stream. It decided to taste the grass on the hills across. A narrow log served as a bridge across the stream. While crossing the bridge, it saw another goat coming from the other side. The bridge was so narrow that only one animal could cross the bridge at a time.
The first goat said to the other, "Let me pass first." "You let me pass first", snapped the other goat.
They started threatening each other and finally got into a terrible fight, so savagely that they lost their balance and fell into the stream.
The other goats grazing on the hills saw this spectacle and learnt a lesson.

Once a fisherman was sitting near seashore, under the shadow of a tree smoking his beedi. Suddenly a rich businessman passing by approached him and enquired as to why he was sitting under a tree smoking and not working. To this the poor fisherman replied that he had caught enough fishes for the day.
Hearing this the rich man got angry and said: Why don’t you catch more fishes instead of sitting in shadow wasting your time?
Fisherman asked: What would I do by catching more fishes?
Businessman: You could catch more fishes, sell them and earn more money, and buy a bigger boat.
Fisherman: What would I do then?
Businessman: You could go fishing in deep waters and catch even more fishes and earn even more money.
Fisherman: What would I do then?

The Dog and the Donkey
Once a donkey and a dog met on a road. They both had to go in the same direction, so they became friends and traveled together. They had taken just a few steps when they saw a packet lying by the road-side. The dog picked up the packet and giving it to the donkey said, "Open it and read it out for me.
" The donkey did exactly what the dog had asked him to do. The packet turned out to be all about the things that donkey eat like grass, barley etc. the dog felt bored hearing what the donkey was reading out and said, "Turn over the pages and see if there is something about the things I am fond of such as meat, bones etc.
The donkey glanced through the entire packet but couldn't find anything of the dog's sort. The dog became sadder and asked the donkey to throw it away because he found the packet useless for him.

The second artist showed the picture and even he was imprisoned for 5 years. The picture depicted the king having vision in both eyes. The king felt he was falsely praising the king to earn reward and it was also considered a matter of dishonoring the king pointing his blindness!
The third artist showed the picture and was rewarded a fortune! The third artist was very clever and he drawn the king's face with only one eye!

The wild ass went to the donkey and said, "How lucky you are! Your sleek skin shows how well you live." Saying this, the ass left the place but still kept thinking about the donkey.
After few days, he came again to see the donkey. But this time the donkey had a heavy load on his back. His master was following him with a stick in his hand and was hitting the donkey off and on to make him move at a steady pace.
Seeing this the ass said to himself, "What a pity. I no longer envy him. I didn't know that he has to live such a miserable life and has to buy his comfort at this price."

The stones were flying thick and fast and the Boys were enjoying themselves very much; but the poor Frogs in the pond were trembling with fear.
At last one of the Frogs, the oldest and bravest, put his head out of the water, and said, "Oh, please, dear children, stop your cruel play! Though it may be fun for you, it means death to us!"
