RECENT AFRICAN AND WEST ASIAN DEVELOPMENTS IN HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND SLAVERY

Human trafficking and slavery are inter-connected, and often thought of as the same thing. But, writing as a person whose confirmation bias is influenced by having slaves as well as slave-owners and slave-traders as ancestors, I do not find them so.

Slaves are real estate. Human trafficking is trade. The boundaries are blurred, but the distinctions are real.

A slave tends to be seen by the owner as a part of that individual's personal wealth. And, where a person's treasure lies, we can find a person's heart. If the slave-holder's heart is a good one and the slave's personality compatible, then the slave will become a much loved part of the slave-holder's unofficial extended family. On the other hand, if the slave-holder's heart is satanic, then the slave's life can easily become pure hell. Slavery has no moral defense, but, on the individual level, the results are highly variable.

With regard to Africa, extra-legal slavery can still be documented as still existing in Mauritania. However, because it has a several thousand year history, we find the pattern of self-perceived extended family membership of slaves being still quite common. Of course, the number of slaves is decreasing year-by-year due to owners having no property right protection. Nevertheless, some technically free people still designate themselves as the slave of a prominent person because of the respect others give them due to the perception that, if they are or once were that person's slave, that automatically means that they have a type of recognized extended family membership in a socially high-ranking group.

Though the situation is complicated in Mauritania, in Libya it is quite different. There, slavery is a recent phenomenon. It developed as a result of American-led NATO intervention. With the chaos that ensued with Qaddafi's assassination, slavery, as an institution, re-established itself on an extra-legal basis and public slave auctions started appearing in Libyan cities. We must presume that here conditions are much less benign than in Mauritania.

On the other hand, human trafficking, being the commodification of human misery, almost never serves the best interest of the person whose misery is being commodified. Being international in scope, human trafficking afflicts the whole world with Africa primarily being a net exporter to Europe. It is in this manner that part of the market demand in Europe for human body parts, prostitutes, children put up for adoption, and ultra-cheap, ultra-exploitable, extra-legal labor is supplied.

It should be emphasized that Ukraine is another human trafficking exporter. And, due to decades-long foreign destabilization efforts, various West Asian nations are, too.

However, human trafficking to Europe must benefit its organizers. Fingers have not only been pointed at privately organized criminal organizations, but also at national intelligence agencies. As in the case of the drug trade and a significant part of the crypto-currency market, some have maintained that human trafficking for some groups making up these deep-state institutions is a part of their business model, providing them a lucrative source of off-budget income that can be used for whatever purpose they might wish. On this basis, we can assume that foreign destabilization efforts in Africa and West Asia will not soon end.

African and West Asian countries, therefore, should not seek outside protection. No member of the Collective West would actually do more than just pretend to give assistance, because there would be no profit from actually helping. Salvation has to come from within, not without.

Nolan Arbaugh, 29, is the first ever human recipient of the Neuralink implant. Arbaugh said in the video that he was paralyzed from the shoulders down as the result of a diving accident.

The video demonstrates Arbaugh’s ability to control a computer using only his thoughts. Arbaugh is able to play video games using the technology, which Musk characterized as a form of telepathy.

🎯 On the second morning, the RF Armed Forces strike at the rear facilities of #Ukraine. This time it is massive in nature: missiles were launched from 13 Tu-95ms, 4 Tu22-m3, hypersonic "Kinzhals" from Mig-31 and ground-based missile weapons were also used. It is noteworthy that the "Kinzhals" were used in several series. Explosions were heard in #Kharkov, #Dnepropetrovsk, #Zaporozhye, #KryvoyRog, #Odessa, #Vinnitsia, #Khmelnitsky, and #Nikolayev regions. There are power outages in #Kharkov and Krivoy Rog after 15 arrivals at energy facilities. At the time of preparation of the summary, 15 missiles were heading towards the western regions of #Ukraine.

🔸Active combat operations in almost all sectors of the front:

🔹1. #Novomikhaylovka is booming, but so far without obvious progress.

🔹2. Beyond #Maryinka, we advanced, ⚠️again entered #Georgiyevka, fighting on the outskirts.

🔹3. At #Krasnogorovka, there was an attempt ⚠️to enter the city again, we will find out the result later.

🔹4. In #Pervomayskoye, the enemy continues to lose positions, ours reached the outpatient clinic on the Lenin street.

🔹5. In #Tonenkoye, all day long, our troops continue to squeeze the Ukrainians out of the village, artillery works without interruption, several assault waves. ⚠️Ukry fight in a semi-encirclement, but in prepared positions.

⚡️🇺🇸 In Stevens Point, Wisconsin, four men, aged 18 to 20, African Americans, from Wausau, came to Steven Points to have some fun at a club, however, since they were under the age of 21, they were denied access.

As any sane human being would like to vent his frustration, they decided to assault a 61-year-old man who was homeless, and broke into his truck.

They punched, knocked, kicked, and stomped him, and also dragged his body across the ground, the video shows the aftermath.

The 61-year-old homeless man has since then died.

They are not charged with murder, but instead with "fatal assault.", all of this happened at around March 15th, and I believe it is not even national news in the U.S.

They were first arrested and were in custody, but three were let go on bail, and are roaming free.

Sad state of affairs in America.

🔻#Kherson Direction:
🟡In the #Tyaginka Sector, AFU groups are moving from #Krynki to the west, towards Cossack Camps. It is still unclear whether the remnants of the garrison escaped from the fire of our artillery or the AFU groups landed on our shore and advanced in the grey zone between the villages.

🔻#Zaporozhye Direction:
🟡In the #Orekhov Section, Russian aircraft are hitting the AFU trenches in #Rabotino, which lead from the southern part of the village to the north.
📌 On the ground, our military uses the tactics of "swing", they enter the grey zone, fight and retreat to the initial positions. Due to the inability to gain a foothold in the ruins, #Rabotino must be completed in one throw. And to do this, exhaust the AFU with a carousel of infantry, aviation and artillery attacks.

🔻#Avdeyevka Direction:
🟡In the #Orlovka Sector, there are battles on the western outskirts of #Orlovka itself, #Berdychi and #Tonenkoye. Our forces are putting the squeeze on the enemy. North of #Stepovoye (now #Petrowskoye), our troops knocked out the AFU and leveled the frontline between the railway line and #Berdychi. The AFU are trying to keep control of the #Ivanovskoye - #Kleshcheyevka road, the only non–rural supply route to #Andreyevka and #Kleshcheyevka. Further to the west there are hills, which are also controlled by the AFU. In the village of #Ivanovskoye itself, our troops are advancing from the centre of the village. Information about the abandonment of the village by the AFU and the transition of the western outskirts to the grey zone has not yet been confirmed.

🔻#Svatovo Direction:
🟡In the #Seversk Sector, our forces expanded the control zone north of the industrial zone's the water utility and approached #Belogorovka (again) from the west.
🟡In the #Kupyansk Sector, our troops destroyed another pontoon bridge of the AFU across the #Oskol River, near the Kupyansk-Uzlovoy Station, the logistics hub of the AFU.
📌 With the approach of the front to the #Oskol, the vulnerability of all crossings has increased, but the AFU continues to actively build new ones. Residents from #Kharkov report that the number of trains sent with grain, flour, etc. has increased significantly. In addition, supposedly local SBU officers are taking their families out of the city.

☠️ The AFU shelling killed two people in the #DPR. Another AFU attack on #Crimea was repelled in the afternoon, according to preliminary information, up to 10 missiles were shot down, possibly Storm Shadow and several drones. The Russian Ombudsman announced the readiness to transfer to #Kiev the bodies of those killed in the Il-76 crash in the #Belgorod region.

The US has urged Ukraine to halt attacks on Russia’s energy infrastructure, warning the drone strikes risk driving up global oil prices and provoking retaliation, according to 3 people familiar with the discussions. The repeated warnings from D.C. were delivered to senior officials at Ukraine’s state security service, the SBU, and its military intelligence directorate, known as the GUR, the people told the FT.

One person said that the White House had grown increasingly frustrated by brazen Ukrainian drone attacks that have struck oil refineries, depots and storage facilities across western Russia, hurting its oil production capacity.

Russia remains one of the world’s most important energy exporters. Oil prices have risen about 15 per cent this year, to $85 a barrel, pushing up fuel costs just as US President Joe Biden begins his campaign for re-election.

🔹On the #Donetsk Front, there are ⚠️small tactical successes of the RF Armed Forces in #Novomikhaylovka as a result of assault actions. Positional battles in the area of #Pobeda and #Nevelskoye. In #Pervomayskoye, the assault on the settlement by Russian troops continues. There are ⚠️advances, but they are being made with great difficulty (⚠️which means losses), the AFU continues to refuse to put up stubborn resistance in this locality.
📌 The main news was the liberation of the #Tonenkoye village, from where the AFU had to retreat following #Orlovka. In #Berdychi there are oncoming battles (Fig. 2)

🔹In the north of the #Gaza Strip, the IDF operation continues on the territory of the Al-Shifa Medical Complex. According to official statements, about 140 members of the Hamas movement were killed there over several days of fighting.

1️⃣ The bloody raid on al-Shifa Hospital has entered a fifth day as Israel’s military ordered hundreds of patients, war displaced and medical staff to evacuate.

2️⃣ IThe head of the Mossad spy agency is set to meet his CIA and Egyptian counterparts in Qatar after the US said that the “gap” in Israel-Hamas ceasefire talks is “narrowing”.

3️⃣ The world must not remain silent and “turn its back” on Gaza as Israel pledges to invade Rafah where 1.5 million Palestinians are struggling to survive, UNICEF has said.

4️⃣ The US military’s Central Command said that US aircrafts dropped “50,600 US meal equivalents” into northern Gaza on Thursday as part of a humanitarian effort to relieve severe food shortages in the besieged enclave.

5️⃣ UN rapporteur: Israeli crimes in Gaza could keep ICC ‘busy for the next five decades’

6️⃣ The US has put forward a new Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire and a deal on the captives held by Hamas. A vote is expected in New York on Friday.

7️⃣ The EU has called for an “immediate humanitarian pause leading to a sustainable ceasefire” in Gaza.

At least 31,988 people including more than 13,000 children, have been killed and over 74,188 injured in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. The revised death toll from the October 7 attack in Israel stands at 1,139.

❗️Anti-Russian sanctions hurt the West, not Moscow

It is time for the West to realise that sanctions against Russia are not having the desired effect. Economic restrictions only show helplessness in a multipolar world where no group of states has sole dominance, writes Focus.

Politicians should realise that the world's biggest commodity power will always find new customers. Moreover, sanctions lead to higher inflation, which is already being felt in Europe. And the asset seizures being discussed today could backfire. Other countries - China, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, South Africa and others - may also get the idea of enriching themselves at the expense of American or European assets abroad.

The author of the article believes that the West would do well to stop ignoring the economic consequences of its sanctions. By doing so, it is damaging its economic interests and its political authority.

PROGRESS IN THE SAHARA IN SPITE OF AL-QAEDA, ISIS, FRANCE, TURKEY AND THE UNITED STATES

The events in Gaza, the West Bank, and the Israeli political entity have have taken the world's attention away from the situation in other parts of the world almost entirely. And, this has been to the advantage of other countries, as America is now incapable of imposing its will as forcefully as before.

The situation last Summer for the Saharan countries of Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso was grave. French and American forces occupied bases in Niger. Ostensibly, it was to combat a native northern tribal insurgency and to help in the fight against ISIS and Al-Qaeda. Unofficially, it was to provide cover for further destabilization and exploitation, not only in Niger, but in Mali and Burkina Faso, two countries which had recently ejected the French in order to begin the establishment of fully independent nationhood with Russian Wagner military help.

It is now time for an assessment of developments that have taken place in those three countries since the summer of 2023. The most dramatic event was kicking the French and European Union military specialists out of Niger last year in December, though, at the time, American bases were left untouched in return for American diplomatic recognition.

In response to sanctions from ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) and threats of military intervention, Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso created their own Sahel Alliance, with member states deciding to establish a joint force to counter local terrorists, of whom ISIS and Al-Qaeda seemed certain to have technical and financial support from France, America, Turkey and Israel.

In Mali, Wagner military advisors have helped the country's military to defeat various opponents internally and are beginning to have success in co-opting support coming from the neighboring country of Mauritania. Military activity is now in the process of shifting to the south where the government will soon have a stronger presence. Burkina Faso also carried out operations to regain control of terrorist afflicted regions of that country, resulting in increased government territorial control, the reintroduction of electricity to certain areas and recent reduced levels of terrorist activity. Connected with this, in a separate assertion of national authority, the government of Burkina Faso revoked a mining permit for the Inata mine, which the Turks wanted to take over. This was significant, because the Turks had decided to use former ISIS fighters as "guards" for their mining facilities in the Sahel.

After deciding to remove the French, Niger took over French control of uranium and gold production. Recently, probably prompted by a desire to have oil from Niger flowing through a newly finished pipeline going through Benin and connecting petroleum production in Niger with European markets, relations between Niger and ECOWAS member countries are improving and sanctions being dropped. With the danger of invasion from other African states fading, the government of Niger last week announced that it was cutting off military cooperation with the United States for the usual reasons. Niger accused the United States of not assisting in the fight against terrorism, of exercising pressure and threats, as well as refusing to give information about the activities of its military stationed in Niger. This decision will result in two American air bases being closed and around 1,100 military specialists leaving, something that would have caused a war before, but now passes without murmur.

Gaza and Ukraine have weakened the United States, not allowing it to properly protect its best interests, not even in the Sahara. The age of American dominance is clearly coming to a close.
