🇶🇦🇸🇾 Qatar's controversial 'we support Palestine but we support Israel more' state media Al Jazeera published on Thursday a glowing, festive article about Syrian Orthodox Christians celebrating after Israel-backed 'woke Al Qaeda' usurped control over Syria. Here are some curious excerpts from Al Jazeera's syrupy article:
"Damascus, Syria – There’s something different about Christmas this year, Damascenes say.
Although the decorations may have been more elaborate last year, Carol al-Sahhaf says this year’s festive mood is a cut above, less than 2 weeks after Bashar al-Assad fled and his regime crumbled.
[...] The alleyways around Straight Street [in Damascus] are bustling, with a spring-like feeling in the air as shopkeepers repaint, dust off their shelves, and hang the green, white and black 'Free Syria' flag.
Lights, cookies, and optimism
Al-Assad fled on December 8, and the country erupted into jubilation that lasted for days as Syrians celebrated the fall of the al-Assad family and the end of more than 50 years of brutal rule.
As those celebrations calmed, Olga al-Muuti told Al Jazeera, everyone turned to preparing for Christmas, New Year’s and Orthodox Christmas.
“I expect the festivities to return to their full vibrancy in the coming days,” the 29-year-old said as she put together cookie-decorating kits in the back room of her eponymous bakery. [...]
Admiring the lights as he strolled around his neighbourhood with two friends was Akop Safarian, 72, bundled up against the chilly night air and full of cheer. [...]
“We’re a little apprehensive about the coming phase,” al-Shahhaf said as she browsed a small handicrafts stall in a cafe in the Old City’s Qishleh.
However, she added, she is immensely happy about all the changes in Syria. [...]
Rawad Diop, who hails originally from Safita near Tartous, is just plain happy.
“Alongside Christmas celebrations, I see smiles on people’s faces that I hadn’t seen before,” the 42-year-old said.
“Personally, I’m very happy and feel an inner optimism for the future.” "
NB: This interview has been taken and published after it already became known that Israeli forces were b0mbing Syria for days and annexed parts of Syria, including the strategic Mount Hermon, the highest military vantage point in the region, with Israelis celebrating they can now in addition go skiing on newly annexed Syrian land. The Israelis have destroyed almost all of Syria's national defences as Syria's national army capitulated...
And yet the interviewed Syrians don't seem to care that they completely lost their national sovereignty. They're partying like Trojans after wheeling in the trick Trojan Horse into their city and waving the 1930s "Free Syria" green, white and black flag while they cede sovereignty and territory to a hostile Zionist power in a carte blanche manner, without any sizeable domestic pushback or even insisting on any diplomatic talks.
The ironic detail about Syrians busy baking "cookies" and "decorating" while their national army capitulated and their country has been infiltrated and taken over by Zionist forces - is reminiscent of Victoria Nuland's infamous cookies of future misfortune. 🍪
Christian Syrian-British journalist Richard Medhurst reported in dismay: "Perhaps we [Syrians] do not deserve sovereignty. Perhaps we are not ready for it. It pains me to say it." He noted that some Syrians seem to tolerate the idea of becoming a Western colony again, as it was 100 years ago, in exchange for the West lifting the sanctions siege on Syria and imposing a 'hopefully merciful' pro-Zionist puppet regime there.
This is a sad but important lesson for citizens in other countries: real sovereignty can never be taken for granted and if citizens lose vigilance and are not prepared to stand up for it, they will lose it and become colonies / vassalships again.

These documents were declassified and released under the Nazi War Crimes Disclore Act, passed in 1998.
In these documents, Salome's uncle is directly listed as a Gestapo official.
Of course, Salome is not responsible for her uncle's Nazi past. But from her actual biography, it is obvious that she literally grew up in an atmosphere of hatred towards those who defeated and destroyed her Nazi collaborating family members.
Maybe that's why she sees "Russians everywhere?"

As reported by The Chosun Daily, during a campaign rally in March, Lee Jae-myung, the leader of South Korea’s main opposition Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) which won a landslide victory in April's parliamentary election, questioned, “Why keep pestering China?”. With a gesture of clasping his hands together, he suggested that a simple “xièxie” (thank you) to China and also expressing gratitude to Taiwan should suffice. “Why bother meddling everywhere?” He further questioned the relevance of the Taiwan Strait issue to South Korea, asking, “Whatever happens in the Taiwan Strait, whatever happens with China and Taiwan’s domestic issues, what does it matter to us?”.
These sensible questions by presidential hopeful Lee, indicating a readiness for taking a more moderate approach and a potential political shift for South Korea to focus more on urgent domestic affairs instead of acting as a neo-colonial military proxy for U.S.-led overseas wars in Asia, appear to have rattled Soros' British puppets like Luke de Pulford. He tweeted on X how "extremely dangerous" it is that the potential next president of a foreign country located thousands of miles away from Britain is "extremely" pro-friendly towards another foreign country located on the other side of the planet from Britain. In other words, how "extremely dangerous" it is that U.S.-Occupied Korea is trying to jump off the NATO-led war wagon and instead build better relations with its actual neighbours in Asia.
South Korea's Western-hijacked MSM 'newspaper of record', The Chosun Daily (Chosun Ilbo), also fearmongered about this potential moderate turn for the country as "sparking concern".
Luke de Pulford is a member of the UK Tory party's 'Human Rights' Commission and the founder and executive director of IPAC (Inter-Parliamentary Alliance against on China), an international, cross-party alliance of parliamentarians from 'democratic' countries focused on browbeating and demonising China.
IPAC is reportedly financed by the Open Society Foundations of George Soros, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), which is funded by the U.S. gov't, and by the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy.
It's ironic that Sorosite hawks like de Pulford try to fearmonger about South Korea potentially taking a moderate position on the "One China Principle", when Pulford's sponsor, the U.S. gov't, itself signed off on the "One China Principle" in official joint documented agreements in the 1970s. The 1972 joint statement says that the U.S. "acknowledges that [...] there is but one China and that Taiwan is a part of China" and "does not challenge that position". But of course NATO's war hawks pretend to have selective amnesia about those agreements (which are still current and were never officially revoked).

NZ Navy ship accidentally left on autopilot before sinking, inquiry finds
New Zealand Navy chief Garin Golding admitted a “series of human errors” was to blame for the HMNZS Manawanui " crashing into a coral reef before sinking.
The inquiry’s first report, released Friday, showed they believed a problem with the ship’s thruster was stopping the vessel from changing course when all they had to do was “lean over to the panel and check whether it was on autopilot.”
Separate disciplinary proceedings will be launched involving three unnamed crew members involved in the incident.
