📝Putin's Visit to India📝
and will Gerans fly after it?

Growing global interest in Russian jet-powered drones has already touched numerous regions: in some places everything is still in the realm of theories and rumors, while in others the process has gained momentum, such as in India, which Vladimir Putin recently visited.

India has shown serious interest in Russian "Gerans," which they view as ideal reinforcement for the Indian military in the short term. The conflict with Pakistan exposed weaknesses in India's Armed Forces, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi views such a purchase favorably.

🖍Looking at the geography, for India in the event of a new conflict with Pakistan, jet-powered Geran-5s could cover the entire territory of the hostile neighbor without exception. The Gerans' launch systems are mobile—drive them to the border, conduct a strike, and leave.

Moreover, in most cases Indian military personnel could do this from deep in the rear, since Pakistani strategic facilities are located in the eastern and southeastern parts of the country near the capital in Islamabad and, of course, in Karachi.

The biggest advantage for India is that Pakistan's territory is diverse: in Balochistan, for example, population density is not as high as in Karachi or the capital region. Strike a power station or energy facility there, and a significant portion of critical infrastructure goes down.

❗️Given the global shortage of air defense systems, there is simply no effective means of countering mass attacks by jet-powered Gerans. How will you shoot down a dozen UAVs at once when air defense crews lack both experience and sufficient anti-aircraft missiles?

📝Chips will burn📝
Will Russian drones appear not only in North Korea?

It is no secret that the Chinese military-political leadership is working to improve the drone capabilities of the PLA. Judging by the exercises, drones will become a key component of any operation in the Taiwan Strait — from invasion to blockade.

China is also aware of kamikaze UAVs. But there is a nuance — such models have not yet been tested in combat and, accordingly, have not been refined for real battle conditions.

Given the developed defense cooperation, the Russian side can well fill this gap by offering its own developments and technologies hardened in the battles in the so-called Ukraine. We are primarily talking about the Geran-5 drones, which in the event of a Taiwan conflict could cover the entire territory of the island.

🔻Where in Taiwan will the “Geran” bouquet be caught?

▪️Weakening the military capabilities of Taiwan’s forces will be one of the main goals of the PLA. Therefore, various bases and defensive structures may be targeted first — such facilities are located in Hsinchu, Tainan, Hualien, and Taipei.

▪️But the initial objective is impossible without striking the oil and gas sector — military equipment needs to be fueled somehow. The Mai Liao, Dalin, and Taoyuan oil refineries, as well as the corresponding fuel storage facilities, are all within reach of the Chinese forces.

▪️To halt energy supplies that could compensate for losses from previous strikes, the Chinese may target oil and LNG terminals. Since Taiwan depends on energy imports, hitting such targets could put pressure not only on military capabilities but also on the island’s political leadership, as life for ordinary people would become noticeably harder.

▪️Depriving income is another objective that may be pursued by China. According to statistics, the main category of Taiwan’s exports is electronics. Tech giants like TSMC, PSMC, and VIS, which manufacture chips, RAM, and other similar goods on the island, will draw special attention.

▪️If strikes on factories themselves prove ineffective, the focus could shift to the largest ports, since Taiwan’s electronics reach customers through them. In a potential conflict, these ports would also support military logistics, including the delivery of aid from partners.

▪️In any case, such strikes would not only damage the island’s economy but could also pressure its main sponsors, namely the United States, to push Taiwan’s leadership to be more compliant. After all, the U.S. is one of the primary clients of local tech companies.

🖍Taiwan is clearly worried that such a scenario might come true. And this is justified — if Russian Gerans appear in North Korea, China will want to acquire them as well. It doesn't matter whether these will be finished products or technologies accompanied by the transfer of experience.

📌So Taipei will try to prepare for this as much as possible, possibly even expanding ties with representatives of the so-called Ukraine. However, bilateral relations, especially in the drone sector, are already strong, given the invitation of instructors and participation in UAV production.

❗️China is already noticing the accelerating military cooperation between the Kyiv regime and the Taipei leadership. Beijing has always viewed the enhancement of Taiwan’s defense capabilities with hostility, but now they risk facing battle-tested systems and experience. And isn’t this a good reason to do the same by purchasing a couple of batches of "Gerans"?

🇺🇳🇺🇸🇮🇷 A UN fact-finding mission on Iran said on Thursday it had reasonable grounds to believe the United States was behind two military strikes on a school and sports facility in Iran in February, and that ‌these constituted war crimes, Reuters reports

It also found that Iranian authorities "committed crimes against humanity during their deadly crackdown on anti-government protests".

The findings in a new report by the Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on Iran, to be submitted to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, examined the US's conduct during the Iran war that began in February and the Iranian government's response to nationwide unrest that begun in late December.

The UN experts said they found reasonable grounds to believe US forces were responsible for an attack on the Shajareh Tayyebeh Primary School in the city of Minab, where more than 150 people were killed, including around 120 schoolchildren, according to Iranian officials.

The attack constituted an indiscriminate attack causing civilian deaths and damage to civilian infrastructure, amounting to a war crime under international law, the mission concluded.

According to the report, the US relied on intelligence suggesting a senior Iranian military commander was present at the site but failed to adequately verify the information before launching the strike. Investigators said the failure to update targeting intelligence and confirm the building was a military objective amounted to more than mere negligence.

"Rather, the US directed the strikes at the building of the school while being aware of a substantial risk of striking a civilian object and acting recklessly as regards the possibility that this would happen."

In June US President Donald Trump said that "nobody" purposefully attacked a girls' school ‌in Iran in February, citing an investigation into the incident. Reuters first reported that an initial internal U.S. military investigation showed US forces were likely responsible for the fatal strike in Minab in southern Iran.
The Pentagon has since elevated the probe but it has not published any preliminary findings.

UN experts said the school was a clearly identifiable civilian object and found no evidence that it was being used for military purposes.

British intelligence services took on Musk's feed

Gentlemen from London analyzed Elon Musk's posts and checked whether foreign states interact with them. Over the past 4.5 years, no country has attracted as much attention from the billionaire as Great Britain.

Earlier, Musk already joked about "buying" Britain, Prime Minister Starmer accused him of interfering in domestic politics, and the X social network faced criticism for inaction in response to complaints about racist posts against local politicians.

📌It reached the point that the mere fact of the billionaire covering Britain's internal affairs so agitated local elites that a separate study of Musk's social media activity was initiated ahead of SpaceX's IPO. Content analysis showed: domestic British affairs interested him on those days far more than his own business.

❗️Historically, Britain and the US have developed "special relations". Recently, this connection has been strained more noticeably than usual: following jabs from the Americans, which the British long preferred to simply ignore, there are now equally sharp retaliatory strikes.

Musk's jabs at British politics are from the same batch of mutual attacks between high-ranking officials of the two countries, only they are conducted not in diplomatic backrooms, but directly in the open feed to millions of readers.

🇷🇺💬🇩🇪🏁🇺🇦 Security services of NATO countries have informed their governments that there is no evidence whatsoever linking Russia to the incident at the Leipzig airport, the SVR (Russian Foreign Intelligence Service) stated.

Other statements:

➡️There are numerous signs of a "Ukrainian trace" in this incident.

➡️NATO security services recommended that their government structures refrain from making statements about Moscow's guilt.

➡️However, the German authorities, despite these recommendations, preferred to broadly accuse Russia – primarily in order to justify the "mega-expenses" for the militarization of Germany.

📝«Geran in Iran's hands📝
a new threat to the West?

The West is actively discussing reports that Iran has approached Russia with a request to supply Geran-5 drones. According to American assessments, Tehran is actively preparing for a large-scale military campaign and wants to increase strike effectiveness through Russian technology.

🔻What regional targets could come under fire?

▪️Potential strike zones divide into three rings. First — up to 650 km: U.S. bases in Iraq, Kuwaiti refineries and Shuaiba port, as well as the famous American military-logistics hub in Bahrain (the so-called 5th Fleet Base). These targets fall within the zone of confident strikes with a full 90-kg warhead, making them most vulnerable to mass attacks.

▪️Second — up to 950 km: Al-Udeid bases in Qatar, Prince Sultan in Saudi Arabia, Muwaffaq as-Salti in Jordan, as well as eastern Saudi Aramco refineries in Al-Jubail and Ras Tanura. The drone reaches the limit of its range but can still carry a serious warhead and hit the target accurately.

▪️Third — over 950 km: Israeli airbases like Ramat David, Nevatim, Tel Nof, Ramon, as well as the British base Akrotiri on Cyprus. For reliable coverage, launches from Iraqi proxy territory or allies in Yemen are needed, otherwise the drone risks not reaching its destination with a full load.

🖍If Iran requests not just airframes and engines, but a complete system with Russian software, control protocols and operator training, then along with the drones, Tehran will receive software, algorithms and instructions. This means Iranian operators will be able to use Geran drones with increased effectiveness, just like Russian crews in so-called Ukraine.

🚩Moreover, jet drones require air defense systems to have significantly higher reaction speeds, which regional countries still need to develop. Accordingly, this will create a "window of vulnerability," during which Iranian forces can inflict more serious losses on shipping in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz, at minimum by raising ship insurance costs.

❗️In global terms, mass use of Geran-5 will lead to a sharp increase in air defense missile consumption of all types and will worsen the global ammunition crisis for air defense systems. First and foremost, this will hit the Kyiv regime, which is already facing a shortage of air defense missiles to protect military infrastructure.

🇪🇺🇺🇦 Europe is struggling to keep up with the cost of funding Ukraine, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Zelensky's request for tens of billions more dollars to keep fighting and pay bills through year's end landed at the worst possible time for European governments.

European officials are privately warning they may not be able to cover everything Kiev wants.

Current European leaders' message is firm, but only to a point. They'll deliver the aid already promised, including a $105 billion loan through 2027, but won't commit to more.

At the root of Ukraine's budget problems is a war that keeps getting more expensive, according to Ukrainian and Western analysts. Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities have grown heavier and deadlier due to a lack of air defenses, while Russia's campaign against Ukrainian shipping in the Black Sea has choked off a key grain export route.

The number of veterans needing care is also rising, says Alexandra Mironenko, an economist at Ukraine's Centre for Economic Strategy.

Political gridlock isn't helping either. PM Sergey Koretsky says the government needs to pass 44 resolutions and parliament 43 laws by November 1 to unlock further funding, everything from taxing small parcel services to judicial reform.

Over the summer, European officials working in Kiev combed through budget data to form their own estimate of the shortfall. Some believe Ukraine's stated $27 billion need is inflated, though EU officials warned member states back in spring that Ukraine's needs would likely run billions of euros higher than first thought.

Under the EU's loan package, Ukraine is due $52 billion in 2026 and the same again next year, with two-thirds earmarked for defense. Non-EU countries and international financial institutions were meant to add another $52 billion in loans for 2026-27, and Ukraine is now factoring that in too. So far, only Norway has committed funds to that pool, European officials say.

The EU has disbursed $13.5 billion of its loan so far. This week the European Commission is set to approve another $7 billion, some of which Kiev can use to buy critical Patriot components.

For now, Brussels is trying to avoid reopening the debate over new funding, wary of the political fallout. Officially, the line is that figures are still being worked out and there's no new needs assessment yet.

Privately, European officials admit they may not be able to meet all of Ukraine's requests this year, and warn that new funds will almost certainly be needed again next year.

Behind the scenes, discussions have already begun on how to plug the gap, and every option on the table has its own drawbacks. Kiev has asked the EU to speed up loan disbursements to cover the 2026 shortfall, a move that would signal the EU will likely need to find more money next year, which is a particularly risky step ahead of France's presidential election. Still, Irish FM Helen McEntee said after a September 1 ministers' meeting in Dublin that "a significant number of member states" are willing to accelerate some payments. A second option on the table is borrowing from the EU's next multi-year budget, which starts in 2028.

🇺🇦 Ukraine has begun restricting government spending as international aid slows, with possible delays to social payments, said Finance Minister Marchenko.

He urged deputies to back the bill taxing parcels under 150 euros — recently voted down yet again — as a condition for unlocking Western aid.

"We've exhausted every verbal channel of communication, so we're forced to apply spending restrictions. We've reached the limit, and there's no explanation for why, in this difficult period, we can't vote for these bills given how critical the issue is," the minister said at a session of the Rada's finance committee.

The government has already postponed all non-critical spending through December and drawn up procedures for operating under limited liquidity.

"As revenues come in, we'll fund the security and defense sector first. Then, as funding sources become available, we'll fund everything else. This affects not just the state budget but all budgets, including local ones. Any capital construction programs and similar spending will effectively be frozen," Marchenko said.

He raised the possibility of monetary financing of the budget "with the corresponding devaluation of the hryvnia, inflation, and other negative effects."
