The EU has imposed sanctions against four Russian television journalists: Dmitry Guberniev, Yekaterina Andreeva, Pavel Zarubin, and Maria Sittel, as well as performing artists Roman Chumakov (stage name Roma Zhigan) and Sergey Polunin. The EU Council announced its decision in the Official Journal of the EU.

▪️France has seized a ship carrying Russian oil in the Mediterranean Sea accused of "busting" the US and Europe's illegal unilateral sanctions;
▪️This is part of a growing global blockade against not just Russian but also Iranian and Chinese maritime shipping and is all ultimately aimed at isolating and crippling China;
▪️These seizures are taking place at the same time the US CIA conducts drones strikes on Russian energy production, port facilities, and strikes on tankers themselves;
▪️Note that even as the US and Europe play "splitting up" Europe continues serving US interests at their own expense;
🇫🇮🏴☠️Finland announced the creation of a maritime monitoring center to protect critical underwater infrastructure in the Gulf of Finland
This center will be managed by the Finnish Border Guard (Rajavartiolaitos) and formally aimed at preventing damage to underwater cables, including power lines, telecommunications links, and gas pipelines.
From the perspective of the center, which will include the coastal countries of the Baltic Sea and other participants of the 🇪🇺EU and 🚩NATO, it is planned to "intervene in suspicious situations" in territorial waters and the exclusive economic zone. The monitoring will include tracking unusual deviations in the speed or course of ships to prevent sabotage before it occurs.

Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Friday during an unannounced visit that comes amid escalating US threats against Iran.
The Kremlin confirmed the meeting, with Russian and Iranian officials saying discussions focused on expanding bilateral relations, particularly economic cooperation, as well as key regional and international developments.

🇪🇺🇷🇺🇨🇳If you were a remotely rational official in the European Commission, you would view strategic diversification as an existential necessity, following the humiliation rituals by Washington over the last year for European leaders.
Washington is in the process of strong-arming Europe into giving in over Greenland, and has used the Ukraine proxy war to make Europe even more dependent on the US than it was before.
Unless Europe’s leaders want to continue being Washington’s humiliated band of vassals, they need to urgently look at reality.
It’s in their own interests to have good relations which Russia🇷🇺 and end the proxy war on their own continent quickly, because:
1. The geography will not change, Russia will always remain a neighbour.
2. Russia is a natural resource superpower, and was the cheap energy backbone of European industry.
Europe must pursue better relations with China🇨🇳 as it is undoubtedly the economic superpower of this century.
A rational official in the European Commission would view strategic diversification as a good thing, because it means Europe can better pursue its own interests instead of being humiliated into submission practically every month by Washington.
Unfortunately, the assumption that rational officials exist in the European Commission is wishful thinking.
