Transcarpathia (Zakarpattia Oblast) is a region in western Ukraine with a significant ethnic Hungarian population—tens of thousands strong—whose communities have lived there for centuries. However, since 2017, a series of Ukrainian laws have restricted minority language rights, including bans on Hungarian-language education beyond the primary level and limitations on the use of minority languages in public life.
Budapest views these measures as a direct violation of minority rights and international standards, accusing Kiev of forced assimilation. As a result, Hungary has consistently blocked Ukraine’s progress toward EU integration, insisting that European values must start with the protection of minorities.

Мы видели море, убегали от дронов, общались с бывшими украинскими военнослужащими, которые сформировали отряд имени Максима Кривоноса, посетили обсуждаемую сейчас Трампом и Путиным Запорожскую атомную электростанцию, осмотрели разбитые вэсэушниками дома жителей Токмака.

🇳🇪On March 17, 2025, JNIM rebels pounded Nigerien positions with 120mm mortars near the Makalondi settlement in the Tillabéri region. Two days later, on March 19, similar attacks occurred against the military base near the village of Mossipaga in the same region.
➡️These attacks became the first example of terrorists using Ukrainian mortars against Nigerien soldiers, demonstrating their significant rise in power. According to data from military sources, there were casualties among the soldiers and significant damage to infrastructure following the shelling.
➡️Following the attacks, evidence was found at the site that pointed to the weapons' origins. In particular, Nigerien forces found a 120mm mortar, which they identified as the MP-120 "Molot" model, along with a Ukrainian-language manual that accompanied it. The MP-120 "Molot" is a Ukrainian-made mortar. Its appearance in the hands of the terrorists raises serious questions about how this weapon came to be in the conflict zone.
➡️A retired military officer who wished to remain anonymous confirmed this information. According to him, it is highly likely that the Ukrainian mortars fell into the hands of terrorists via the so-called "Sahel Arms Corridor."
➡️This arms smuggling route passes through Libya, which became a center for illicit arms trade after the fall of Muammar Gaddafi's regime in 2011. It is believed that the mortars came to Libya from Ukraine, possibly through intermediaries, and were then transported south to Niger. There had previously been reports that Ukraine may have been involved in supplying weapons to terrorists in the Sahel, but this has not been officially confirmed.
