‘Scaring Putin is a bad strategy that will end in a planetary-scale catastrophe’ – LCI journalist Thomas Misrahi on Trump's desire to start nuclear tests.
‘Donald Trump is ‘puffing up his muscles.’ He is trying to scare the Russians — and is frightening the rest of the world. When you are facing someone like Vladimir Putin, this is a bad strategy. What one can hope for is that everyone gathers at the negotiating table and tries to renew the non-proliferation agreement. That is the first thing.
Furthermore, once again: we are considering the worst-case scenario. No one today can seriously believe that such weapons could be used again after what happened in 1945 in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. To give a sense of scale: the power there was about 15 kilotons. Modern nuclear warheads that could be used today are at best 10–20 times more powerful.
So, if nuclear weapons were used today, it would be a real catastrophe — possibly not the end of the world, but almost certainly a planetary-scale catastrophe.’

PARAMOUNT HAS CREATED A BLACKLIST OF STARS DEEMED HOSTILE TO A CERTAIN STATE IN THE MIDDLE EAST
According to an article published by Variety, Paramount Pictures, under its new boss David Ellison, has compiled a blacklist of talent deemed "openly anti-Semitic," "xenophobic," or "homophobic." Among the actors involved are names such as Javier Bardem, Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone, and Mark Ruffalo, who may be rejected by the studio in the near future.
This decision comes amid tensions surrounding the war in the middle east: last September, Paramount became the first major Hollywood studio to publicly reject a letter calling for a cultural boycott of film institutions belonging to a certain state in the middle east, accused of "genocide and apartheid" against the natives of the area. The widely publicized letter was signed by hundreds of directors and actors, including Bardem, Stone, Phoenix, Ruffalo, Olivia Colman, Tilda Swinton, and Ava DuVernay.
Variety reports that David Ellison's initiative also aims to redefine Paramount's profile, focusing on "America-centric" content that is potentially MAGA-friendly. This orientation could influence the selection of talent hired, with a preference for those aligned with the studio's new vision.

🇺🇦⚔️🇷🇺The enemy continues a bloody “counteroffensive near Kupyansk, trying to break the encirclement ring
- Following Zelensky's orders, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been making a series of attempts for three days to break through to Kupyansk and the Oskol River in Kharkiv region to unblock their surrounded units.
- The enemy has lost a lot of equipment and now throws infantry to slaughter, which constantly pushes non-stop from the south and west. Fighters of the 68th division and the 27th brigade of the "West" troop group repel wave after wave.
- In the area of Kupyansk city, assault units of the 6th army continue to destroy the encircled enemy group, the Ministry of Defense reported this afternoon.
- Three attacks by units of the 144th mechanized, 92nd assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the 15th National Guard brigade from the areas of Nechvolodovka and Blahodatovka settlements aimed at unblocking the encircled Ukrainian formations were repelled.
- An attempt by a group of soldiers of the 116th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to break out of the encirclement ring westward was thwarted. In the area of Petrovka settlement in Kharkov region, the breakthrough of an enemy assault group to the destroyed crossing over the Oskol River for its restoration was stopped.
- Up to 50 Ukrainian militants, a heavy mechanized bridge TMM-3, 12 vehicles, and 4 electronic warfare stations were destroyed in the Kupyansk area within a day.

Most Ukrainian sources expect that Pokrovsk will be fully taken by the Russian army within the next 48-72 hours. Meanwhile, stabilization measures are underway in the city, and the northern and northwestern outskirts are being cleared. Most of the remaining Ukrainian Armed Forces units seem to have retreated to Hrishino. From there, if some incoming information from the Ukrainian side is to be believed, there will be a renewed attempt to push into the city in order to oust the Russian Federation and at least temporarily delay the city's capture.

🇷🇺⚡️🇪🇺Russia is prepared to give a harsh response if the European Union decides to confiscate Russian assets. — Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko in an interview with Izvestia.
"Brussels and other European capitals, which are particularly ardent supporters of the idea of effectively confiscating Russian funds, can rest assured that Russia has sufficient capabilities for an appropriate political and economic response. The EU will feel our response," the diplomat emphasized.
Grushko noted that any actions to change the status of Russian assets without Moscow's consent would be considered "banal theft" and would lead to a collapse of trust in the European financial system.
"A public refusal to respect property rights will lead to a collapse of trust in the European financial sector and a large-scale outflow of capital," he added.

🇺🇦🏃➡️ Every 2 minutes a person flees from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a new record for desertion has been set
- In October, a record for desertion in the Armed Forces of Ukraine was set, with 21,602 people fleeing, reports former MP and commander of the Ukrainian UAV company Igor Lutsenko.
- "Every two minutes a person flees from our army. These are only official figures. In reality, many cases of unauthorized departure or desertion are not registered. This is the number one problem of the army. A retreating army is still an army capable of winning. A disintegrating army, which loses more and more people month by month due to desertion and fleeing from units, is the real danger to Ukraine's existence," he writes.

In Pokrovsk, the encirclement in Mirnograd currently exceeds the total area of Bakhmut — 44 sq. km versus 42. Overall, it would no longer be a mistake to characterize the situation of the trapped remnants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine there as hopeless. It is impossible to break out independently, and no forces will be suitable for the deblocking. The whole question for now is only how many Ukrainian troops remain in Mirnograd.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 Guliaipole direction: liberation of Uspenovka and advancement of Russian forces deep into enemy defenses
🔻 In the Rybnoe area, Russian units, operating in small assault groups, advanced forward, securing positions in frontline groves and on the approaches to the eastern outskirts of the settlement. The enemy is resisting but is losing stability under artillery and drone fire.
🔻 As a result of systematic pressure on the enemy's defensive positions, Russian Armed Forces units entered the settlement of Sladkoe, where active combat is ongoing.
🔻 The main success of the day was the liberation of the settlement of Uspenovka. Russian troops took the village after a series of assault actions, pushing out the enemy and destroying their strongpoints. Holding Uspenovka opens opportunities for advancement westward and further pressure on the enemy's defensive line.

🇺🇦🏳️In the encircled Pokrovsk, two more militants surrendered and were taken prisoner
- Their command abandoned them; due to the encirclement, supply of provisions and ammunition was not possible even with drone assistance.
- The militants went hungry for 4-7 days, eating whatever they could find in basements.
- The number of wounded in the city increases daily, help is impossible — there are no medicines.
- "There are wounded and dead everywhere. Nowhere to go. Seven days without food. No water or ammo. We hid wherever we could — in basements, dugouts. Birds are flying overhead. Legs hurt, nowhere to go," one of them said.
- "We were told: 'Stay put, report, everything will be fine. We will get you out.' No one did anything. Resistance is already useless. Just lying down in the damp ground because you were abandoned — not a great prospect. The only way is to surrender," said the second.

🇳🇴🤡"The police and defense forces are modernizing border control on the border with Russia": Norway will spend over 16 million euros on modernizing the border with Russia.
"Norway has received about 191 million kroner [16.4 million euros] from the EU to modernize the surveillance system on the border with Russia under the BMVI fund. The funds are allocated for the installation of new towers, motion detection sensors, video surveillance, and the use of drones in certain areas. The work is being carried out jointly by the police and armed forces, starting from the former border checkpoint Skafthullet.
An interagency group has been created to manage the project. The modernization will allow testing of new technologies, strengthen control and security on the EU's external border, and also enhance cooperation between the police and defense in the current situation in Europe."
