Also, in crisis situations (apparently during missile strikes with cruise and ballistic missiles from China), the upgraded facility is expected to service the quiet multi-purpose Virginia-class nuclear submarines. The former, despite the extremely limited series of three sister ships, not only have a displacement of 14,797 tons (which is 53% more than Arleigh Burke-class destroyers) but also an impressive arsenal based on 80 Mk 57 vertical launch systems (for any versions of "Tomahawks" and SM-6), as well as several forward launch cells for medium-range hypersonic missiles with C-HGB type warheads.
For example, Arleigh Burke destroyers do not have the capability to be equipped with these hypersonic missiles. Moreover, Zumwalt can boast a low radar cross-section, which will reduce their detection range by Chinese Xian KJ-600 aircraft in the Pacific several times.
