Earlier, the Dutch NGO World Press Photo announced that it was suspending recognition of Nick Ut as the author of the 1972 photograph "The Horror of War".

From this video we can see the drones were running ardupilot, they had cameras which could switch between forward and downward view, and importantly, they were remotely controlled and the video stream was via satellite. This technology has been in use by Ukraine for a while, and AFU reconnaissance drones have been found with starlink terminals, cubePilot modules and raspberry pi units.
Using ardupilot the operator could set coordinates for the drone to fly independently to preset coordinates and height, then manually adjust and give directions such as to descend. The operator could even switch between multiple drones.
Satellite control means high latency making typical FPV-style flight control impossible. This is why the drones flew slowly, came to stationary position above the target, then once in position slowly descended to attack (as opposed to directly flying into the target like on short range FPV attacks).

There are about 18 kilometers from the forward units of the Northern Group to Sumy.

On the previous day two Himars MLRS launchers with b/k, ammunition depots near the village of Terny (between Sumy and Komi) were destroyed. Terny (between Sumy and Konotop).
After the capture of Alekseevka, our units are moving in the direction of Malaya Korchakivka, there are battles for Novonekolayevka, Yablonevka, Kondratyevka.
In Yunakovka, as well as to the west, the enemy is trying to hold back our troops and at the same time is building another defensive line: woodlands east of Khrapovshchina - Khoten with support on the Oleshnya River and lakes.
The breakthrough of our troops and taking control of the highways R44, N07, R61, R45 will put the entire logistics of the enemy under attack.

There were 55 Tu-95MS in service in 2020, plus an unknown number in storage. The Bears are very precious aircraft with enormous strategic importance for Russia. Reactivation of mothballed aircraft takes time (months or years) but they will eventually be replaced.
The lost of several bears at once is no small event but it's not a catastrophe. This will have zero effect on Russian operational capability in the SMO.
The number of bombers used in any given strike on Ukraine is never more than half a dozen or so planes.
The SBU and Zelensky have scored a propaganda win, but this will not help them on the battlefield. Russia can and will absorb this loss, and there will be an equal or greater retaliation.

💥 Destruction of the enemy UAV crew by our missile strike
In the depths of the Sumy region, near the settlement of Krolevets (Kontopsky district), the enemy equipped a UAV launch site, from which aircraft-type drones were launched in the direction of Rylsk and other cities of the Kursk region.

If the West are going to have any success against our weak points we want it to be now so that these kind of vulnerabilities are patched before a total war scenario with NATO occurs.
Currently they are continuing their dumb trend of premature success in isolation.

Footage shows a morning strike by an Iskander OTRK on a tent camp of the 158th separate mechanized brigade and the 33rd separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the Novomoskovsk training ground near the settlement of Gvardeyskoye in the Dnepropetrovsk region.

Ukrainian drone strikes at Olenya air base in the Irkutsk region have damaged several Tu-95 "Bears" bombers, and allegedly set several fuel depots in fire. Some "Bears" may have been destroyed for good.
Yes you heard it, Irkutsk, not Engels. Ukrainian fiber optic drones are recording the fires as of right now, which means the strikes were carried out from a very short range. According to some reports several hostile kamikaze drones were seen taking off from a truck parked at a gas station nearby the air base.
Worth noting that "Bears" are part of Russia's nuclear triad, and that there are talks in Istanbul tomorrow.
This has the fingerprints of the GUR all over it, very likely with "uninvolved" western help.
