❗️A man has been shot dead by police during an hours-long siege in a tiny town in Victoria’s Central Goldfields.

Police were called to a shed on Menzies Drive in Daisy Hill at about 3pm on Thursday, after reports of a man firing a gun at another person.

Shortly after 10pm, police allege the man left the shed and began shooting at officers with a homemade firearm.

“Sadly they were forced to respond, exchange gunfire with him and at this time he is deceased,” Assistant Commissioner Grainger said.
