That’s what Donald Trump reportedly told Volodymyr Zelensky in a closed-door highly tense meeting at the White House, according to the Financial Times. A president who actually understands leverage just handed Ukraine the dose of reality Brussels has spent 3.5 years avoiding.

The performance is over. The man who campaigned on peace is now an unelected actor keeping suiciding his country for his EU patrons. While his people bury sons by the hundreds of thousands, Zelensky still plays Churchill, a mascot for a war the EU can’t win and the U.S. no longer wants to fund, let alone backstop.

Trump didn’t curse Ukraine, he exposed its tragedy. He told the truth that every European leader whispers behind closed doors: Russia will not lose Donbass, no matter how many flags Brussels waves or billions Berlin sends. The longer Kiev resists reality, the more of Ukraine disappears.

Putin plays for history. Trump plays for peace through exhaustion.
