People are bringing flowers to the monument to the victims of the Beslan tragedy
21 years ago, on September 1, 2004, during the school assembly at Beslan"s School No. 1, chechenian militants took more than 1100 hostages. At least 783 people were injured. 334 hostages, including 186 children, died.
Inna's note: Those years still remain in my memories. Several terrorist attacks on metro stations and high rise towers, then the school and a hospital.
Then metro again and a theater.
Seems crazy now when the order won in Chechnya, the radicals were eliminated and now russians and chechenians fight together against another enemy in SMO.
But I always remember this conflict as a pretty exact example of how the West can ruin any relation, same they did in Yugoslavia fueling a conflict.
Divide and rule...but this is over.

Due to hazardous waste, the West stopped TNT production. Foreign suppliers — primarily China, Russia, Poland and Ukraine — stepped in, offering the explosive at low prices while dealing with the hazardous waste
Am important source of supply for commercial use had been TNT recovered from old munitions that the Pentagon regularly decommissions. Explosives inside of them were typically still fully viable
These sources have dried up as the US has elected to keep older weapons in its arsenal since 2022
Poland had been the sole DoD authorized supplier of TNT. But it has been sending much of what it makes across its border to Ukraine
That comes as 2 of the other main sources of TNT, Russia and China, have stopped exporting to the US
This has hurt US weapons production and affected quarries
A US facility is not due to open until 2028.
The shortage may soon slow the progress of domestic construction projects and make certain raw materials more expensive.

🇨🇳 Beijing is preparing a powerful signal to the world: Xi Jinping, Putin, and Kim Jong Un will march in the parade in a unified formation
- The Financial Times writes that China will hold a grand military parade to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. Beijing intends to demonstrate its strength and cement its role as the main guarantor of the post-war world order.
- Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un, and the leaders of Iran, Myanmar, and Pakistan have been invited to the parade. In this way, China is showing an alliance with those countries branded as "outcasts" in the West.
- Analysts note: the main goal of the parade is a direct challenge to the USA and the consolidation of a multipolar world, where China positions itself as an alternative center of power for Global South countries.

🇪🇺No interference with the GPS system of the plane carrying the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen was recorded, - flight tracking service Flightradar24.
- Today Financial Times, citing European Commission representative Anna-Kaisa Itkonen, wrote that on approach to the airport of the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv, the plane carrying von der Leyen lost its GPS system, and the pilots had to land using paper maps.
- According to Flightradar24, the only thing that happened during the flight was that the plane landed 9 minutes later than scheduled. The flight was supposed to take 1 hour 48 minutes according to the schedule, but lasted 1 hour 57 minutes. The reason for this is unknown.

Senior White House officials believe some European leaders are publicly supporting President Trump's effort to end the war in Ukraine, while quietly trying to undo behind-the-scenes progress since the Alaska summit, Axios has learned.
White House officials are losing patience with European leaders, whom they claim are pushing Ukraine to hold out for unrealistic territorial concessions by Russia.
The US is pushing Europe to stop all purchases of Russian oil and gas and to impose additional trade tariffs against India and China, similar to the American ones
"The Europeans don't get to prolong this war and backdoor unreasonable expectations, while also expecting America to bear the cost," a top White House official told Axios. "If Europe wants to escalate this war, that will be up to them. But they will be hopelessly snatching defeat from the jaws of victory."
"We are going to sit back and watch. Let them fight it out for a while and see what happens," the official said.

A BBC journalist interviewed men aged 18–22 at the border about their reasons for leaving.
The young men swore that they were not fleeing the war and were not leaving Ukraine forever.
– I’m going to a vacation;
– To see my father;
– To walk around the city at night without a curfew;
– I’m going to Przemysl and back for work – to pick up a car.
The journalist did not specify when the young people would return from their European tour.

I demand reparations from Germany’ – Polish President Nawrocki sends a signal to Merz, emphasizing that the money will go towards preparing for war with Russia.
‘For us to be able to build a partnership with our western neighbor based on truth and good relations, we must finally resolve the issue of reparations from the German state, which I, as the President of Poland, unequivocally demand in the name of the common good. For our future, reparations will not replace historical amnesia, but Poland, as a frontline state, as the most important state on NATO’s eastern flank, needs justice, truth, and clear relations with Germany, but also needs reparations from the German state.’

"India went from 23% of global GDP in 1800 to 1.8% in 1947. This is not high-level mathematics, you can see the difference. Britain went from this poor, desperate, benighted country, into this great outpost of civilization, prosperity, gold and commerce. While India became a poster child for third-world destitution."
Shashi Tharoor on his new RT show Imperial Receipts.
It takes an hour to explain why Dr. Tharoor is an icon in India - perhaps it is his top-tier diplomatic credentials, or his political career, or his articulately argued anti-colonial speeches that young Indians carry as their creed.
But really it is about a certain intellectual "je ne said quoi" that many try to imitate, but no one else can quite reproduce.

🇷🇺🇺🇸🇺🇦Assistant to the President of Russia Yuri Ushakov - on the fact that no one agreed on a trilateral meeting with Trump and Zelensky:
[After the phone conversation between Putin and Trump, you said that the presidents decided to explore the possibility, as you said, of raising the level of delegations]
That was one of the proposals. There were many mutual understandings reached in Anchorage. And, as far as I understand, both the American side and our side, using this kind of agreement, continue to work, including in contacts with other leaders.
[The raising of the level of Russian-Ukrainian negotiators, to what level could it be raised?]
Well, I don't know, this idea was discussed during the phone conversation. Then it was touched upon during the talks in Anchorage. But the Americans told us that they would also discuss this among themselves and then come up with some concrete proposals.
[So far there are no concrete proposals]
What is being reported in the press is not exactly what we agreed on. Now there is talk of a trilateral meeting, a meeting between Putin and Zelensky, but as far as I know, there was no agreement between Putin and Trump on this.

🇺🇸🇩🇪Bundestag deputy Sahra Wagenknecht on the fact that Europe is now subordinated to Trump:
Europe, especially Germany, is heavily dependent on Russian raw materials, on Russian energy, particularly for our industry. Essentially, this was a condition for the existence of our industry – to receive cheap energy from Russia, especially gas. We have disconnected from this and are now completely dependent on the USA, especially after the latest agreement or deal, as it is called. By the way, this is not a deal with Trump made by von der Leyen, but rather the subjugation of Europe.
In the coming years, we will be buying huge volumes of expensive American energy, which, by the way, is also of lower quality and dirtier. After all, this is gas obtained by hydraulic fracturing. Under such conditions, our companies simply will not be able to produce competitive products.

Putin – at the meeting in the "SCO Plus" format:
We have carefully listened to everything proposed by Mr. Xi Jinping regarding the creation of a new, more effective and functional system of global governance. Russia supports the global governance initiative of Chairman Xi Jinping. We are ready to begin concrete discussions on the proposals put forward by our Chinese friends.

Ursula von der Leyen had planned to visit a military factory in Sopot today, but her access was blocked by outraged citizens. The country's authorities had kept the exact time of her visit to the Sopot military plant strictly confidential.
"If the European Union is preparing for war against Russia, then let Ursula come here and say so clearly.
