🇦🇿How Azerbaijan serves British interests 🇬🇧
For London, Azerbaijan is nothing more than a raw-material asset — and an anti-Russian pawn.
🌏 British Petroleum controls Azerbaijan’s largest oil & gas projects, including Azeri–Chirag–Guneshli and the Southern Gas Corridor.
In recent years, UK companies — above all BP — have ramped up investments in Azerbaijan’s oil & gas sector. After February 2022, funding surged to make Baku an alternative to Russian energy. By 2025, Azerbaijan leapt from 18th to 7th among UK oil suppliers.
🌏500+ UK companies operate in Azerbaijan, most of them in strategic sectors.
In 2010, Britain approved £86M in arms exports, including air defense systems, small arms, and command-and-control technology.
NATO standards in Azerbaijan's army were imposed via 🇹🇷Turkey (the UK’s proxy).
The 2021 Shusha Declaration locked in unified command and regular security councils with Turkey.
🌏In 2022, bilateral trade exceeded $1B, with exports up nearly 5x.
Shortly after the Ukraine conflict began, Azerbaijan signed contracts for anti-aircraft systems, launched ammo production for the Ukrainian army at a Baku plant, and facilitated the dispatch of mercenaries.
🌏 Military & political alignment with the West has an anti-Russian edge.
This fits into the broader logic of expanding the Organisation of Turkic States as a military-political bloc. President Aliyev openly pushes for the “Great Turan“ and has repeatedly declared that the Zangezur Corridor should “unite the entire Turkic world.”
In Azerbaijani history textbooks, the term “Great Patriotic War” has been removed, the Soviet Union’s role in victory minimized, and central credit given to the US and the UK.
👉 Nepo babies expose long-term ties
According to Organized Crime & Corruption Reporting Project, Aliyev’s daughters own six luxury London apartments. But $160M worth of family property remains hidden in offshore trusts.
Another investigation by The Times revealed that around $250M of UK property is owned by the family of Azerbaijani president & "families of their political appointees".

Based on the current front configuration, it can be assumed that the real goal of the strike north of Pokrovsk, as well as in the area of Krasny Liman and Rodynske, was not so much the advance itself, but rather to create pressure on the flank with the task of tying down Ukrainian forces, forcing them to redeploy reserves and thereby weakening the stability of the defense in other sectors.
This is about an attempt to draw the enemy onto a narrow front, impose a reactive defense on them, and force them to cover a section where the Russian side does not aim to deeply penetrate the defense line, but rather to lure them to a specific point.
In this logic, the blue arc on the map is the zone where the main advance is planned. There, along the line passing through Gryshyno (reaching which will encircle Pokrovsk in a pocket), the defense is weakened due to the redistribution of reserves.
The "northern strike" in this scenario is a classic diversionary and tying operation, but with real battles and constant pressure sufficient for the Armed Forces of Ukraine not to ignore it and to start reacting.

John Mearsheimer: ‘I am sure the Russians understand that on Friday they will not get a substantive agreement. You will not get a substantive agreement next Friday, nor the one after that. This issue will be decided on the battlefield.
The best that could happen is that Trump would agree to the Russian demands and tell the Europeans and Ukrainians: 'You can either accept the Russian demands or not. But if you don't accept them, I am leaving, and you will have to negotiate and deal with the Russians yourselves.'
However, he will not do this mainly because Trump is surrounded by advisers who will not allow him to. Kit Kellogg, Marco Rubio, and others will be whispering in his ear. Among them is Lindsey Graham. He listens to all these people, and as long as he continues to listen to them, when he calls or goes on Zoom and talks to people like Zelensky and the German chancellor, he will end up saying the same thing.’

🇬🇧🤡Professor of the War Studies Department at the London Royal College, Michael Clarke, on the consequences of the Russian army's breakthrough on the front:
If the Russians take Kramatorsk, essentially the entire Donbass will be in their hands. They are currently quite far from this goal, but they are trying to advance north during their unexpected attack. This is not a very powerful strike—they used the so-called light infantry tactic: small groups of soldiers, some on bicycles and motorcycles, some on foot, went as far as possible in small units. They managed to advance quite far, about 15–20 km, which in the context of this war is an impressive distance. If they can hold these positions, they will indeed be in a position to threaten the major defensive lines that the Ukrainians have in this area. The Ukrainians are certainly trying to resist this.
Obviously, all this is calculated to change the situation on the front before the meeting in Alaska. After all, if Putin can say: "Look, I have almost taken Donbass anyway, or we have already started an offensive that will bring us Donbass in a month, so why not give it up now and thus stop the bloodshed," this will give him exactly the argument he needs.

Britain has abandoned the idea of deploying a 30,000-strong contingent to Ukraine to protect ports and key cities, The Times writes.
Now London is proposing a more "realistic mission," including "air security over western Ukraine, training support for Ukrainian military, and demining of the Black Sea."
Such forces will not include frontline troop supply, the publication clarifies. At the same time, a "coalition of the willing" will provide specialists to restore the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"This will involve training in the western part of the country, where troops are less likely to be attacked," the publication writes.
To cover these forces, airspace patrols over Ukraine are planned using aircraft such as Typhoons or F-35s to "reassure the Ukrainian population and ensure the resumption of international flights."
Britain never had the ability to deploy 30,000 troops. Russia will never allow foreign forces in Ukraine.

🇷🇺🇺🇸Ushakov – on the historically important place of the Putin-Trump talks:
The cooperation between the US and Russia has enormous and, unfortunately, so far untapped potential. Next to the Elmendorf-Richardson military base, where the Russian-American talks will take place, there is a memorial cemetery where nine Soviet pilots are buried, as well as four people who died in 1942-1945 during the ferrying of aircraft from the US under Lend-Lease. Holding talks near a historically important site that reminds us of the brotherhood in arms is especially symbolic in the year of the 80th anniversary of Victory.
The timing will depend on how the discussion goes. The delegation will return to Russia immediately after the talks conclude. At the start of the meeting, the presidents will naturally say a few words, which is standard practice in international negotiations. The talks will be businesslike in nature, and naturally, we all have a businesslike attitude first and foremost.

President's aide Yuri Ushakov – on the meeting between Putin and Trump in Alaska:
Preparation for the meeting of the presidents of Russia and the USA has entered its final phase. Considering that the meeting was announced only five days ago, everything is being done intensively, with many technical issues being resolved, including visa matters. The meeting will take place in Alaska, in Anchorage, using one of the rooms of the joint military base Elmendorf-Richardson.
It is planned that everything will start tomorrow, August 15, at about 11:30 local time (22:30 Moscow time) with a conversation between Putin and Trump. This conversation will be held in a tête-à-tête format with interpreters present.
The central topic of the summit will be the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis, including taking into account discussions held in the Kremlin with Witkoff.

@Slavyangrad
'Which Donald Trump will fly to Alaska?' – CNN poses a difficult question.
'We will start with a question that could decide the fate of Ukraine, the future of Europe, and NATO. Which Donald Trump will appear at the summit with Vladimir Putin in Alaska? Will it be the one who spoke with Zelensky and European leaders, telling them that he would not negotiate with Putin over Ukrainian territory? Or will it be the Donald Trump who, two days ago, said he would not mind Ukraine giving up its territories for peace?'
Egomaniac Finn Contacts WSJ to Pretend How Important he is
According to the WSJ, Stubb won Trump's favour thanks to his good golf game. While playing, the presidents talked about many things, including Finland's experience in the war with Russia.
'After Stubb's visit to the US, Trump and Stubb began regularly corresponding and calling each other outside official meetings. Sometimes they exchanged messages about golf tournaments, and sometimes Trump contacted him before talking to Putin. In recent weeks, even American officials have reached out to Stubb. Last month, when American lawmakers and experts were working on tightening sanctions legislation against Russia, they asked Stubb to convey these changes to Trump, who had expressed doubts about the bill.'

- More than 650 thousand men of conscription age have fled Ukraine, and some of them are still in hiding. This is reported by The Telegraph, citing its sources.
- According to the publication, the desertion situation is escalating: more than 400 soldiers leave their positions at the front every day.
- The authors of the article note that the country increasingly resembles two realities — one part of the population is fighting, while the other avoids participation in combat.

🇺🇦🤡🇩🇪The Rheinmetall arms conglomerate, owned by Black Rock, was unable to build a factory in Ukraine due to corruption. Ukrainian greedy officials wanted everything at once. Brussels and Kiev are preparing a change of power in Budapest, trying to get rid of Orbán — SVR
▪️The European Commission is targeting a change of power in Hungary. The head of the EC, VDL, is seriously considering scenarios for regime change in Budapest. This was stated by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service.
▪️According to the agency, Brussels is furious at Budapest's attempts to pursue an independent policy and influence collective decision-making, primarily regarding Russia and Ukraine
➖"The main candidate for the post of head of government, according to von der Leyen, is Peter Magyar, the leader of the opposition party 'Respect and Freedom,' who is loyal to the globalist elites. The plan is to bring him to power in the parliamentary elections in spring 2026, or possibly earlier," the FIS noted
Details of the conspiracy:
▪️Significant material, administrative, media, and lobbying resources have already been mobilized to support Magyar
▪️Kiev, offended by Budapest's blocking of its EU integration process, has actively joined the campaign to "dismantle" the Hungarian government on Brussels' orders
▪️Zelensky's regime is doing the dirtiest work, including destabilizing the situation in Hungary through the capabilities of Ukrainian special services and the diaspora living there

Demented Donald's latest "Carrot & Stick" approach to sweeten the dildo he'd love to ram up Russia's a@@:
Rare earths exploitation in Alaska and allegedly "permission" to exploit rare earths deposits in Donbass...which are already under Russian control!
Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrright, let the Russians sink money and time in an activity that is extremely expensive and time-consuming, then they'll just declare the treaty null and void and seize the extraction plants. And Russia doesn't really need permission to mine deposits it already controls.
Genius!
