Odessa under fire: Iskander disrupted the AFU's sea supply routes.
The Russian military launched a missile attack on the port of Odessa, hitting a ship carrying military cargo on May 23.
According to the MoD, the ship carried about 100 containers with military equipment: drones, ammunition, unmanned vessels.
Military Watch Magazine clarifies that the attack was carried out by the Iskander-M operational-tactical complex. The missiles also hit a container warehouse in the port. This caused a secondary detonation and a serious fire.
This is not the first case: already in October 2024, the container ship Shui Spirit, which was carrying weapons from Romania, was destroyed.
Russian attacks on maritime supply lines are becoming more frequent.
MWM estimates that seaborne arms supplies to Ukraine could now be drastically reduced, as they are much more vulnerable than land routes through Poland and Romania.

Emmanuel Macron has denied he and his wife, Brigitte, had an altercation after a viral video promoted by Russian state media and French far-right accounts appeared to show her pushing him in the face as they prepared to get off a plane in Vietnam.
Macron told reporters in Hanoi he and his wife were “joking around, as we do quite often”. An Élysée Palace official told French media the scene showed “a moment of closeness. But that was enough to feed the conspiracy theorists.”
Another Elysée source said the couple were “decompressing one last time before the start of the visit, larking around”. Macron “loves playing jokes like on his wife before official occasions, and she always responds like this … It wasn’t even a slap.”

German banker explains why "Russians love luxury" and can afford it.
"Italian fashion companies that do not follow anti-Russian sanctions have discovered a "crazy" market in Russia", says former Sberbank CEO Oliver Kempkens in an interview with blogger Flavio von Witzleben.

As quoted by Bloomberg, German Chancellor Palpatine Schmerz threatened cutting Slovakia from EU funding if the country will continue to diverge from the EU's "shared" policy.
Member states that violate the rule of law can be subject to infringement proceedings and “there is always the possibility of withdrawing EU funds from them,” Schmerz told at WDR Europaforum conference on Monday when inquired about Hungary and Slovakia.
“If it is necessary, we will deal with it.”
Schmerz’s comments also included a jab at Hungary, which has already had most of its funding suspended due to ongoing "rule of law" concerns. The threat to cut off funding to Slovakia and continue to hold Hungary accountable is the clearest sign yet that Schmerz – who took office earlier this month – is willing to stoop lower than the earth's mantle to bring the two "rogue" states back into the fold.

According to The Telegraph, a State Department delegation flew to the UK in March to meet with British anti-abortion activists who’ve been arrested or harassed for expressing their views near abortion clinics.
The five-member US team, dispatched by the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL), also met with UK Foreign Office officials and Ofcom, Britain’s censorship-adjacent “communications regulator,” to express concerns about the country’s creeping criminalization of free speech under the guise of “online safety.”
Let’s be clear: this wasn’t a visit of solidarity, it was a shot across the bow, amid trade talks and mounting friction between Trump’s America and Starmer’s censorial regime. The US delegation also attended private meetings with activists like Livia Tossici-Bolt, arrested for holding a sign that read “here to talk if you want” and Adam Smith-Connor, the army vet convicted for silently praying near an abortion clinic.
Vice President J.D. Vance called it one of the “most concerning cases” of religious persecution in the Western world, and he’s not wrong. Because in modern Britain, you can burn the Union Jack, but you can’t pray silently 150 meters from a clinic.
But here’s the catch: this sudden US interest in “British liberties” is highly selective. When it came to Julian Assange, Washington demanded silence. When UK police trampled COVID protesters, not a word. But when the issue fits Trump’s base, suddenly the State Department discovers Magna Carta.

Vice Chancellor Lars Klingbeil stated that there are no new agreements on the range of German weapons for Ukraine , and the government's position remains the same.
This means that Merz has little desire to lift all restrictions on long-range weapons and there is nothing to expect for now except a cheap media show-off that has not been agreed upon with anyone.
