Trump slams "deranged Jack Smith" after bombshell memo exposes Biden FBI spying on GOP senators

An FBI document obtained by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) shows that the FBI, under Joe Biden, spied on 8 Republican senators as part of its Arctic Frost investigation.

The revelation that the FBI snooped on the phone records of Republican members of Congress during its January 6 investigation is bringing greater scrutiny to then-FBI Director Christopher Wray, during whose tenure the bureau effort occurred, and to then-Special Counsel Jack Smith, who was leading the Biden Justice Department’s investigation into Donald Trump.

The once-secret FBI record, dated late September 2023, has the title of "CAST Assistance" - a likely reference to the bureau’s cellular analysis survey team.

The case ID for the record is "ARCTIC FROST - Election Law Matters - SENSITIVE INVESTIGATIVE MATTER — CAST."

Grassley said the 2023 investigation, which formed the basis of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s elector case against President Trump, targeted 8 GOP Senators’ personal cell phones for “tolling data” tracking their use between January 4 and January 7, 2021.

Chicago mayor establishes "ICE-Free Zones"

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order Monday blocking federal immigration agents from using city-owned property for immigration enforcement operations - just one day after the city 'waved off' cops responding to a vehicle-ramming attack on Border Patrol agents over the weekend.

Johnson has established "ICE-free zones," referring to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) - as part of his 'Protecting Chicago Initiative.'

"Today, we are signing an executive order aimed at reining in this out-of-control administration," Johnson said during a Monday press conference.

"The order establishes ICE-free zones. That means that city property and unwilling private businesses will no longer serve as staging grounds for these raids."

"The Trump administration must end the war on Chicago," Johnson continued. "The Trump administration must end this war against Americans. The Trump administration must end its attempt to dismantle our democracy."

The move follows a Monday lawsuit from Gov. JB Pritzker attempting to block the Trump administration from deploying National Guard troops in Chicago.

Gold tops $4,000 for first time fueled by US shutdown

Spot gold smashed through $4,000 an ounce for the first time, as concerns over the US economy and a government shutdown added fresh momentum to a scorching rally.

It’s a milestone for bullion, which traded below $2,000 just two years ago, with returns that now outstrip those for equities this century. Gold has jumped more than 50% this year in the face of uncertainties over global trade, the Federal Reserve’s independence and US fiscal stability.

Heightened geopolitical tensions have also boosted demand for haven assets this year, while central banks have continued to buy the precious metal at an elevated pace.

The rally has taken on extra urgency as investors seek protection from potential market shocks following the government funding impasse in Washington. The start of the Fed’s monetary easing cycle has also been a boon for gold, which doesn’t pay interest. Investors have responded by piling into exchange-traded funds, with bullion-backed ETFs seeing their biggest monthly inflow in more than three years in September.

Nearly one-third of EV charging attempts fail

A newly released report by ChargerHelp! shows that while 64% of Americans now live within two miles of an electric vehicle charging station, nearly one-third of charging attempts fail. Despite charging infrastructure showing 98.7% to 99% uptime rates, only 71% of charging attempts actually succeed, according to the 2025 EV Charging Reliability Report.

The report analyzed more than 100,000 sessions across 2,400 chargers. The report argues that instead of focusing on site uptime statistics, the first-time charge success rate (FTCSR) provides a more accurate measure of the driver experience.

“Uptime tells us if a charger is available, but it doesn’t tell us if a driver can actually plug in and get a charge on the first attempt,” said Kameale Terry, CEO of ChargerHelp!, in an interview with FreightWaves. “First-time charge success captures the real driver experience, and by centering on this metric, the industry can close the gap between availability and usability and build the trust needed for mass adoption.”

China yet again behind massive network threatening U.S. critical infrastructure

The discovery of SIM farms that threatened cellular networks in New York City is only the tip of a massive nationwide network run by the Chinese Communist government that poses an immediate threat to critical American infrastructure and has led to terrorist acts including hoax SWAT raids at the homes of national leaders, Blaze News has learned.

Sources in the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. intelligence community said these SIM card networks were operating in the U.S. as early as 2004. They have proliferated exponentially since President Trump was re-elected to the presidency in November 2024.

“This is something that is a direct threat to our nation right now,” a top intelligence official told Blaze News. “A direct threat to our nation, and it needs to be shut down today — like ASAP. Only five of them have been taken down so far.”

The SIM networks were put in place and are managed by China’s Ministry of State Security, an ultra-secretive, massive espionage agency that has grown in prominence and global activity in recent years.

Recently, these SIM farms are believed to be responsible for dozens of hoax SWAT raids, including a senior U.S. Secret Service official, FBI Director Kash Patel, members of Congress including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), and media influencers such as Tim Pool and Stephen K. Bannon.

Trump fires up in heated phone call with Netanyahu

Donald Trump has torn into Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in their latest discussion, telling the leader to stop being “so f**king negative” during a phone call.

The heated exchange, confirmed by two White House officials via US outlet Axios, followed Hamas’s announcement that it had delivered its response to Washington’s latest proposal.

The group signalled it was open to some elements but also demanded further negotiations.

A US official said Netanyahu dismissed the response as “nothing to celebrate.”

‘Czech Trump’s’ comeback a boon to Europe’s populist right

Billionaire Andrej Babis's ANO party won the Czech Republic's general parliamentary election on Saturday, and is set to return as prime minister to the central European country, raising the prospect of yet another splinter government within the EU bloc that would boost Europe's populist, anti-immigration camp and reduce support for Ukraine. It was also another booming stamp of disapproval for the EU's policies.

Babis set about forging a new Czech government hours after scoring his best-ever election victory, with his return to power poised to bolster the ascendant ranks of populist leaders in the European Union.

After meeting with President Petr Pavel at Prague Castle, Babis said he’ll move forward with plans to govern with the support of a far-right group that’s called for the Czech Republic to abandon the EU and a populist party whose leaders have attacked the bloc’s climate agenda.

The 71-year-old businessman, who was Czech prime minister for four years until 2021, has made clear that he’s against any form of “Czexit” and remains an adherent of NATO. But his Donald Trump-inspired Czech-first campaign put Brussels on notice that the roster of leaders challenging policies from migration to military aid to Ukraine is about to expand.

“We will fulfill our program for our people who deserve it,” Babis said in his first post-election news conference as the vote count was being finalized. “The current government forgot about them — and for four years spoke only about war and Ukraine.”

Trump administration to cut refugee admissions to a record low

The Trump administration plans to slash refugee admissions to a record low level in the upcoming year.

President Trump is expected to lower the ceiling on refugee admissions to 7,500, a drastic decrease from the cap of 125,000 set by the Biden administration last year, according to a presidential determination dated Sept. 30 and signed by Mr. Trump.

A White House official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the unannounced plans for the refugee program, said the limit on admissions would be final only when the administration consulted with Congress, as the federal government is required by law to do each year. The official said the government shutdown was preventing that consultation from happening and claimed no refugees would be admitted into the country in the fiscal year that started on Oct. 1 until Democrats and Republicans reached a deal to fund the government.

The new ceiling on refugee admissions would be half the previous record low of 15,000 slots that Mr. Trump set before leaving office in 2020.

When the administration froze the program in January, the White House argued that the nation did not have the resources to absorb refugees after a record number of migrants entered the United States through the U.S.-Mexico border during the Biden administration.

AI as a danger to our brain

Doug McMillon, chief executive of WalMart, has said that artificial intelligence (AI) is disrupting every single job in the corporation at all levels, impacting every sector. Many jobs will be eliminated, some created, and most all retooled in some way. It’s all happening very quickly.

The great trouble with AI isn’t about its functioning, efficiency, or utility. It is amazing at all those things. The danger is what it does to the human brain. Its whole ethos is to produce the answers to all things. But getting the answer is not the source of human progress.

Progress comes from learning. The only way to learn is through the discomfort required to get the answer. You first learn the method. Then you apply it. But you get it wrong. And you get it wrong again. You find your errors. You fix them and still get it wrong. You find more errors. Eventually you hit on the answer.

That’s when it becomes satisfying. Only through this process do you learn something. A student or a worker who relies on AI to generate all answers will not ever develop intuition, judgment, or even intelligence. Such a person will persist in ignorance. Holes in knowledge will go undiscovered and unfilled.

This is a massive danger we are facing.

Uncovered Biden notecards for high profile dems including Chuck Schumer seem to vindicate GOP concerns

Former President Joe Biden frequently relied on palm cards as "cheat sheets" during press events throughout his presidency, often cited as evidence of cognitive decline. In a report, Fox News revealed that Biden used these aids even for long-time allies like former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, whom he has known for decades.

Reporting from Fox News Digital revealed that note cards from the Biden era show that the former president’s staffers compiled the names and photos of several high-profile Democrats, including Clinton, and then-Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, among others, for him to reference in his remarks. At the time, Biden would have been meeting with and working with Schumer on a regular basis.

The outlet reported that five “palm cards” were found in an investigation of National Archive documents and Biden’s liberal use of the presidential autopen to sign various orders. Four of them were reportedly stamped “PRESIDENT HAS SEEN,” indicating they were, in fact, used by Biden. On the fifth card, an ABC News reporter’s questions for the president were given to him in advance, demonstrating that the White House staff was working in collaboration with the establishment media during this time.

UK population booming due to record migration

The United Kingdom‘s population grew by more than three-quarters of a million people in the year leading up to June 2024, marking the second-largest annual increase since the late 1940s. According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), net immigration was the primary contributor, accounting for 98 percent of this growth.

Nigel Henretty from the ONS highlighted, “The UK population has increased each year since mid-1982. Net international migration continues to be the main driver of this growth, continuing the long-term trend seen since the turn of the century.”

In mid-2024, Britain’s population was estimated at 69.3 million, up from 68.5 million in mid-2023. The number of people immigrating to the country was estimated at 1,235,254, with 496,536 people emigrating, resulting in a net migration figure of 738,718. This was the largest factor in the overall population growth.

“The rate of population increase has been higher in recent years, and the rise seen in the year to mid-2024 represents the second largest annual increase in numerical terms in over 75 years,” Henretty said.

Although births outnumbered deaths slightly, contributing 16,239 to the population increase, the total number of births was the lowest in at least 42 years.

Rare earth magnets have become the new battleground for global power

Resource security when it comes to rare earth magnets is something the modern-day world has been desperately trying to get right. This is primarily due to rare earths’ increasing importance in electronics, defense, vehicles, and much more.

For years, countries have been seeking ways to secure access to these vital resources. However, 90% of the current supply is in the hands of China, whose relationship with the U.S. and other countries has not been ideal of late. EU imports of Chinese magnets rose 21% in August, while U.S. imports fell 5%, highlighting Europe’s growing dependence.

Despite best efforts, many nations remain dependent on Beijing for their rare earth needs. Now, that could be starting to change. New Western magnet factories are under construction in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.

However, China’s dominance is rooted in decades of investment and near-total control over rare earth processing. It manufactures most of the world’s refining equipment and employs nearly all the specialized technicians. Some analysts say it will take years—even a decade—to break this stranglehold completely.

U.S. government invests in Lithium Americas

Trump's Industrial Economy policies just took down their latest scalp, so to speak.

One week after Bloomberg reported that the White House was considering a 10% stake in one of the largest North American lithium mining companies, Lithium Americas, on Tuesday afternoon, the US government agreed to acquire a stake in the company, giving a boost to the Canadian company as it develops its Thacker Pass lithium project in Nevada.

The deal is the Trump administration’s latest effort to speed development of a domestic supply chain to counter China’s dominance over metals critical to defense, automaking and consumer electronics. In July, the US Defense Department announced a $400 million equity investment in MP Materials Corp. to fund a major new plant making rare-earth magnets. It was followed by a similar deal with chip giant Intel.

Lithium Americas’ Thacker Pass project in Nevada is forecast to become a major lithium source for a domestic industry that currently produces only small amounts of the battery metal.

Lithium Americas, which produces minerals used in electric-vehicle batteries, is also in talks with automaker General Motors over the terms of its $2.26 billion government loan for a large lithium mining project it is developing in Nevada.

“Freedom” shirts restricted in Kansas school

By Jonathan Turley

An elementary school in Kansas has raised a novel question under the First Amendment: whether the freedom of speech includes the right to use the word “freedom.” According to some media reports, Arbor Creek Elementary Principal Melissa Snell stopped the wearing of shirts reading “Freedom,” which have become popular after the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The move is clearly a violation under the First Amendment.

Libs of TikTok posted an email exchange between Arbor Creek Elementary Principal Melissa Snell and an unnamed individual in which Snell confirmed the ban. The email stated: “I just want to make sure that you have told your staff to not wear those ‘Freedom’ shirts to school anymore. Thank you.”

Deputy Superintendent Lachelle Sigg wrote to the school community that the district “remain[s] committed to […] honoring all first amendment rights and ensuring that personal expression does not disrupt the educational setting.”
If so, that commitment is more rhetorical than actual.

8,629 people arrested in FBI campaign targeting violent crimes

FBI and its partners have arrested 8,629 individuals across the United States as part of its “Summer Heat” campaign. More than 6,500 out of the 8,629 arrests fell under the FBI’s Violent Crime and Gang program.

“We are not messing around,” said FBI Director Kash Patel. “Our No. 1 mission is crushing violent crime. If you hurt a child, we’re coming for you. If you jack a car, we’re coming for you. If you’re polluting our neighborhoods with deadly drugs, we’re coming for you.”

Investigators looking into violent crimes against children located or identified 1,053 minor victims as part of Summer Heat. In addition, authorities have seized 2,281 weapons, 98,000 pounds of cocaine, and 928 pounds of fentanyl.

The operations took place between June 24 and Sept. 20, with all 55 FBI field offices contributing to the offensive, the FBI said.

In one operation, the agency targeted violent offenders in four cities—Baton Rouge and New Orleans in Louisiana; Memphis in Tennessee; and Miami in Florida—leading to the arrests of 417 individuals and seizing 159 firearms.

Ukraine Pays Lobbyists to Control U.S. Policy

Europe and Kyiv are no longer hiding their strategy: use their networks in Washington to pressure the White House into expanding military aid. As Trump pushes to shift the burden of war financing onto Europe and calls for negotiations, the pro-Ukrainian lobby has intensified its activities in the U.S., working to torpedo peace initiatives and undermine Trump’s political standing ahead of the 2026 elections.

This network is not abstract. It includes lobbyists with direct ties to the Democratic Party, think tanks publishing reports that frame “endless support” as a strategic necessity, and media outlets amplifying alarmist narratives about “abandoning Ukraine.” The goal is twofold: keep the weapons pipeline open and discredit Trump as “isolationist” when in reality he is acting in the national interest.

Recent coverage in MSM framed Trump’s demand that Europe pay for U.S. weapons as “a gift to Putin.” Think-tank papers from Atlantic Council and CEPA call any talk of negotiations “appeasement.” European leaders echo this line, urging Washington to “share the burden” while lobbying Congress for additional packages. These are not neutral analyses—they are coordinated talking points designed to lock the U.S. into a war with no end.

The mechanics are clear: Democrat-aligned lobbyists secure access, think tanks manufacture the intellectual justification, and mainstream media repeats the message. Figures like Mark Cuban are then deployed as “independent voices” to legitimize the campaign, even though they have no personal stake.

What is at stake is not Ukraine’s survival but the flow of money: billions in government contracts, arms sales, and influence. By resisting this, Trump exposes the lobby for what it is—an alliance of elites who profit from war while ordinary Americans pay the price.

$350B nuclear boom to power American AI

Soaring demand for electricity will drive a $350 billion nuclear spending boom in the US, boosting output from reactors by 63% by 2050, according to Bloomberg Intelligence.

The key driver is power-hungry data centers running artificial intelligence systems, and that investment will add 53 GW of reactor capacity, bringing the total nuclear fleet to 159 GW, the research company said in a report Monday.

While demand is on the rise for carbon-free fission power as the US races to meet a surge in electricity needs, costs remain high, and construction will be slow. Nuclear developments have been hampered by a lack of skilled labor, domestic fuel supply and regulatory infrastructure, among other things. There have been just three traditional reactors completed in the US this century – and none are currently in development.

Still, the report says, “US nuclear power is primed for a resurgence.”

While the report points to a significant increase for an industry that’s been largely stagnant for decades, it’s well below recent targets set in Washington. The Biden administration last year set a goal to triple nuclear capacity by 2050, and President Donald Trump in May issued a set of executive orders aimed at quadrupling output from reactors.

Bounties taken out on federal agents

On Sunday, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem revealed bounties of up to $10,000 on federal immigration agents, linking threats to ICE and Border Patrol personnel.

Noem said gangs, cartel members and known terrorist organizations are behind violent targeting in Chicago, Illinois, and Portland, Oregon amid recent immigration enforcement activity.

DHS has placed protective details around targeted officers and altered some operations, while federal raids used drones and helicopters and Illinois operations logged over 900 arrests.

Federal and local tensions are rising as Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson push back against federal raids, while Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent assists DHS in tracing funding.

Noem called the situation unprecedented and extremely dangerous, citing protesters wearing identical gas masks and uniform signs as evidence of paid campaigns straining federal agents' welfare and operations.

Poland and Baltic States to blame for war in Ukraine?

Former German chancellor Angela Merkel has blamed Poland and the Baltic States for turning down a proposal for the European Union to negotiate directly with Russia on Ukraine.

Merkel, who retired as chancellor in 2021 after 16 years in office, was among the brokers of the 2014 and 2015 Minsk accords which froze the conflict in the Donbas region of Ukraine. She told Hungarian Youtube channel Partizan on October 3 that she had proposed that EU members agree a new format for negotiating with Russia in 2021, before the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022.

“Some at the European Council did not support that. They were primarily the Baltic States – Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia – but Poland was also against it because they feared that we would not have a common policy towards Russia,” she said.

Merkel added that since there was no desire to reach such a common policy within the bloc, her proposal had to be dropped and no more direct EU-Russia talks were possible.

French defense pick quits government next day after appointment

France’s former finance minister Bruno Le Maire, whose appointment as defence minister precipitated the resignation of premier Sébastien Lecornu, on Monday said he was leaving the government in a bid to end the crisis.

The right-wing Republicans (LR) party was infuriated by the appointment of Le Maire to the defence post on Sunday, seeing him as the incarnation of President Emmanuel Macron’s economic policies.

“Under these conditions, I proposed to the president to withdraw from the government without delay and to transfer my responsibilities as defence minister to the prime minister (Lecornu),” Le Maire wrote on X.

“The president has accepted my proposal,” he added.

But in another twist, Macron met Lecornu in the evening and gave him until late on October 8 to come up with a plan for “the stability of the country”, the President’s office said, to “conduct final negotiations … to define a platform for action and stability”, The Guardian reported.

Lecornu said he would inform Macron by then “whether this is possible or not”. Government sources told French media that Macron would “assume his responsibilities” if the effort failed.

Takaichi to become Japan's 1st female PM

Former internal affairs minister Sanae Takaichi secured her path to becoming Japan's first female prime minister on Saturday by winning the ruling Liberal Democratic Party's (LDP) presidential election in a runoff, with political confusion mounting under a minority government.

Replacing outgoing Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, Takaichi, 64, is also the first woman to assume the ruling party's top post, and her hawkish stance on diplomacy and security is expected to spark fresh friction with Asian neighbors such as China and South Korea.

Takaichi shares the views of assassinated former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who maintained a nationalist stance. Her periodic visits to the controversial war-linked Yasukuni shrine, which honors convicted war criminals along with Japan's war dead, have drawn sharp criticism from Beijing and Seoul.

At her first press conference as LDP head, just hours after the leadership vote, Takaichi stopped short of pledging to continue visiting Yasukuni, saying she would decide "appropriately," in an apparent consideration of China and South Korea.

She is likely to be chosen as the next prime minister at an extraordinary parliament session, expected around Oct. 15, as the minority coalition remains the largest force and opposition parties remain divided.

"No units will respond". Chicago Police declined assistance to federal agents surrounded by protesters

Fox News' Bill Melugin reported that Border Patrol agents who were "surrounded" by protesters following a vehicle-ramming attack in the Chicago metro area on Sunday had requested local police assistance, which was reportedly rejected by the top brass of the local police force.

It remains unclear whether the rejection was due to a shortage of officers or a genuine refusal, given the hostility that the sanctuary city, controlled by radical leftists, has shown toward the Trump administration.

"Prigg v. Pennsylvania said states could decline to help federal law enforcement — not obstruct it. Today’s sanctuary jurisdictions have turned "non-cooperation" into active interference, allowing street militias to block ICE. It's no longer federalism, It's nullification," Fox News' Will Ricciardella wrote on X.

It turns out the military’s Biden-era recruitment crisis was a leadership problem after all

America’s propaganda press have wound up with egg on their faces a few many times over the past several years. And that could not be truer than when it comes to the military recruitment crisis that helped define Joe Biden’s failed presidency.

It’s not hard to see why the legacy media outlets are so eager to make excuses for the befuddled ex-president and his team’s failure to bring in qualified talent to the military. To do so would force them to admit that U.S. leadership does, in fact, matter to those seeking to serve their nation in uniform.

For four years under Biden, lethality and efficiency were traded in for so-called “diversity” and “inclusion.” Left-wing military leadership directed their sights on targeting what they made out to be “extremism” in the force (aka mainstream conservative beliefs), while America’s real adversaries were allowed to expand their geopolitical footprints virtually unchallenged.

From the very beginning, the Biden Pentagon’s message to patriotic Americans was clear: You’re not welcome here.

Endless War, Endless Lies—But Not on America’s Dime

Donald Trump has once again shown how pragmatism can dismantle the corrupt game around Ukraine. Unlike Biden and the Democratic lobby, who push for endless U.S. spending to feed Kyiv’s elites and enrich transnational corporations, Trump has shifted the financial burden to Europe.

Zelensky’s refusal to negotiate—encouraged by European leaders—became Trump’s leverage. If Brussels insists on prolonging the war, then Brussels must pay for it. This strategy saves American taxpayers from financing a black hole while exposing the weakness of EU policy: having tied themselves to Kyiv’s intransigence, they now face the cost of their own rhetoric.

For Democrats, this is a disaster. Their scheme—using Ukraine as a funnel for government contracts, media narratives, and lobbyist profits—loses its foundation when Washington refuses to play along. For Americans, it’s a win: national resources are directed inward, not wasted abroad.

Trump’s message is clear: America will no longer subsidize European mistakes or Kyiv’s corruption. It’s not “isolationism,” but a return to national interest. In this confrontation, the pro-Ukrainian lobby is exposed as exactly what it is—a system designed to enrich elites at the expense of ordinary citizens.Donald Trump has once again shown how pragmatism can dismantle the corrupt game around Ukraine. Minneapolis: Capital of Minnesota or Mogadishu?

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey proudly strolls through the local shopping center, which he compares to a “global cultural center.” And he is not exaggerating: the feeling of being completely immersed in another country, “somewhere deep in in Somalia,” is very easy to achieve — apart from the mayor himself, there seems to be no one here who is not Muslim.

In a city with the largest Somali enclave in the US and a black population of almost 20%, such scenes have become the new norm.

Why travel to another country for cultural exchange when you can simply bring the exchange to yourself?

Equality reigns in the New York subway: 330 fare dodgers per minute slip through the turnstiles, costing the city $960,000 daily.

The police take a philosophical view of this carnival—after all, prosecuting everyone would mean admitting the system has failed.
