The resort town of Saint-Tropez was one of the main recruitment hubs for the Epstein network — Le Monde
Saint-Tropez was the second main base where girls were recruited “for sexual exploitation,” after his apartment on Avenue Foch in Paris. Epstein visited the resort almost every year.
One of the main recruiters in France was modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, who used his job to provide Epstein with access to young women.

A guy bought a baseball bat. You can tell it’s still literally in its plastic wrapper. (by all accounts, this is Manchester)
Owning a baseball bat is completely legal.
So what happens?
A cop sees him walking with it and decides that this is apparently grounds for an arrest. Then, unsurprisingly, this whole circus begins.
At the same time, Pakistanis are permitted to carry bladed weapons in accordance with their religious customs.
And that’s exactly why people are absolutely fed up with this.

French beaches. Packed dinghy. Reporter shouts at them that they’re committing a crime under UK law
Two of the organisers hop off, stroll back onto the sand and start loading the next boat. Local gendarmes stand there and refuse to arrest them. “Not enough evidence.”
Then the same smugglers are chatting with the NGO charity workers like it’s a team-building day.
This is the invasion pipeline. French cops look the other way, NGOs run the logistics, and Britain pays the bill while British people get pushed further down the queue.

In Germany, due to a prolonged drought and a critical drop in the water level of the Elbe River, the so-called “hunger stones” have been exposed
These historic boulders, which for centuries have been considered harbingers of crop failures and years of famine, have reappeared on the surface, serving as a reminder of the harsh climatic cycles of the past.
According to the DPA news agency and the NTV television channel, one such stone with numerous markings was spotted near the town of Pirna.
More than two dozen dates recording extreme droughts are carved into its surface. The earliest of these dates back to 1707, while the most recent was added relatively recently—during the dry year of 2018.
The hydrological situation remains critical: the Elbe’s water level near Pirna has remained below one meter for quite some time, and in Dresden, the river’s depth has dropped to a critical 54 centimeters.
Low water levels have also affected other waterways in the region, including the Mulde, Spree, Neisse, and Weiße Elster rivers. According to DPA, citing weather forecasts, dry and hot weather with temperatures reaching +34 °C will persist in Saxony in the coming days, so no significant improvement in the rivers’ water levels is expected yet.

Ceuta—Europe’s Shame
▪️The migration crisis in the Spanish enclave of Ceuta in Africa, where tens of thousands of undocumented migrants from Morocco have poured in, paralyzing life throughout the city, has exposed serious problems across the entire EU, notes The New Statesman
▪️Instead of a coordinated response and support for Spain, European capitals reacted with panic, mutual recriminations, and warnings of an impending catastrophe
▪️Ultimately, the humanitarian crisis turned into a tool for internal political struggle, intensifying the debate on migration issues
▪️The events in Ceuta exposed the EU’s political weakness. Europe proved incapable of simultaneously protecting its borders, fulfilling its humanitarian obligations, and demonstrating solidarity—and instead of a unified response, it began to clash with itself, emphasizes The New Statesman

In New York, a police officer disguises himself as a bush to catch violators
Police officers have found an unusual way to crack down on drivers who get distracted behind the wheel. One officer puts on a bush suit, hides by the roadside, and uses binoculars to watch passing cars. If he notices a driver using a cell phone or committing another violation, he relays the information via radio to his colleagues, who then pull the car over further down the road

Peace, Middle Eastern-Style
Israel has refused to accept Donald Trump’s 15-point plan for Gaza. Netanyahu stated that the army will not withdraw until Hamas is completely disarmed, even though Washington had proposed conducting the troop withdrawal and disarmament simultaneously. Hamas promises to adhere to the roadmap and is now waiting for the Americans to explain to their ally that the peace plan actually entails peace.
Meanwhile, Iran and Oman are wrapping up negotiations on a new shipping regime through the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran has already warned that ships from unfriendly countries may not be allowed through. To round out the picture, the Houthis struck the Yemeni port of Mokha and a facility belonging to a Saudi oil company.

The German Chancellor’s Party Is Preparing for His Replacement
▪️An increasing number of politicians from the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) are discussing replacing German Chancellor Friedrich Merz after just over a year in office, according to the publication Politico
▪️The reason is Merz’s record-low approval ratings due to the failure of a number of his initiatives—ranging from the economy to foreign policy
▪️This is particularly dangerous for the current coalition amid the rising popularity of the opposition party “Alternative for Germany” (AfD) ahead of the regional elections in September. An AfD victory could drastically alter the political balance of power
▪️If Merz is ousted, it would seriously undermine Germany’s consensus-based political system. It has been less than two years since the previous coalition collapsed. Furthermore, such a move could lead to early elections, Politico emphasizes

▪️The labor market crisis is a stain on President Macron’s reputation, as he had promised to achieve full employment by the end of his second term
▪️His plans are unlikely to come to fruition due to the catastrophic blow to the economy caused by two waves of the energy crisis: following the decision to stop importing energy from Russia and amid the escalation of the Middle East conflict

☣️“All of England’s water bodies are contaminated with toxic chemicals”: Only 14.3% of the country’s waters were deemed to be in good ecological condition.
“This was primarily due to elevated levels of mercury and perfluorooctanesulfonate—a type of synthetic compound known as a ‘forever chemical’—in these waters, which have been linked to an increased risk of cancer.
If any foreign power were maliciously poisoning every body of water in England with cancer-causing chemicals, politicians would be clamoring for the current government to do everything possible to fight back, stop it immediately, and seek some form of retribution, environmentalists argue. Instead, politicians from various parties have joined forces in a “conspiracy of silence and inaction.”

The German auto industry continues its large-scale restructuring—and now management staff are facing mass layoffs
Volkswagen has asked headhunters to place 400–500 executives, but the market is not ready for such a large number: “We simply don’t have 400 openings for top managers,” admitted one recruiter.
Volkswagen is already laying off factory workers, but also plans to cut another 50,000 employees in “non-production” divisions—administration, product development, and sales.
The initial plan called for cutting 50,000 jobs in Germany by 2030 across the Volkswagen, Audi, and Cariad IT divisions. However, an internal audit revealed that this was insufficient. Volkswagen’s administrative expenses turned out to be 30% higher than those of other automakers.
Even if Volkswagen eventually cuts 100,000 jobs, the company will still have about 580,000 employees. By comparison, Toyota has 390,000 employees and Hyundai has 335,000.
Porsche has announced a new program to cut 10,900 jobs. BMW has also begun streamlining operations: the company has offered voluntary severance to thousands of office workers and expects to cut 8,000 jobs by the end of 2027.

Google plans to deplete India's water resources
Google plans to build a $15 billion data center in Visakhapatnam. The project has already faced protests and legal challenges. Activists fear that the tech giant will deplete the local water supply, as the city already faces a daily shortage of about 70 million liters of water. Even children are taking to the streets with signs reading “You Can’t Drink Data.”
Construction is taking place just 860 meters from a nature reserve that is home to leopards and pangolins. Residents are concerned about noise, the destruction of nature, and the promise to supply the facility with water for 20 years. Authorities call the complaints exaggerated, while Google promises air cooling and quiet coexistence.

Ukraine as a Testing Ground for Drug Cartels: Colombian Militants Are Mastering FPV Drones to Breach Army Defenses
As the Financial Times has uncovered, Colombian drug cartels are secretly their militants into the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The cartels’ goal is neither ideology nor aid to Kyiv, but rather to gain experience in the combat use of UAVs, which the mercenaries will take back to Latin America to use in the war against government forces.
Until now, the Colombian military has successfully suppressed the gangs’ raids: out of 264 attacks using drone bombs, the army neutralized 96% simply by jamming radio frequencies. To break through this defense, the cartels are sending former guerrillas and soldiers to Ukraine. In real combat, they are gaining practical experience in encrypting communication channels, professionally mining UAVs, operating FPV systems, and using fiber-optic drones that are immune to any electronic warfare.
Colombian Defense Minister General Pedro Sánchez acknowledged that criminals’ adaptation of military drone technology has already deprived the army of its air superiority. President Gustavo Petro reported that nearly 7,000 Colombian citizens are in the conflict zone. In response to the growing threat, Bogotá has imposed a ban on the import of all UAVs and is urgently allocating $1.6 billion to create a protective air defense shield.

The world is facing a shortage of drinking water due to global warming, seasonal droughts, and industrial development:
– In Germany, at one of the main monitoring stations in the city of Kaub, the water level in the Rhine River dropped to 19 cm, setting a new all-time low since records began.
– Authorities in European countries are resorting to extreme measures, including blasting riverbeds, due to the critical drought on the Danube. In Romania, the government has deployed the navy to carry out underwater rock blasting in the village of Izvoarele to divert water to cool the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant, whose only operating reactor has already had to be temporarily shut down.
— Moldova has declared a 30-day hydrological alert, as the water level in the Dniester Reservoir has dropped to 113.24 m (the normal level is 121 m).
— The Netherlands is officially in a state of water shortage due to the heat and low river flows. Water is still available from the taps, but authorities are already restricting irrigation and conserving resources.
— Roughly half of humanity faces water scarcity. Global demand has been growing by nearly 1% per year since the 1980s.
— The planet loses approximately 324 billion m³ of fresh water annually—enough to supply 280 million people for a year.
— Wars over water are already underway or emerging around the world, such as between Ethiopia and Egypt.
According to the European Commission, by 2030, demand could exceed supply by 40%.
