🤖 Adding Guard Bots to channels.
You can add a Guard Bot to a channel to handle join requests or present a captcha to users. Join request approval can be enabled in both private and public channels (same applies to groups).
When joining a channel, a user is presented with a WebApp where they must complete actions configured by the bot owner (similar to how it works in groups).
Channel and group settings will also show who is managing join requests.

📱 Never download Telegram from third-party sources — only use Google Play, App Store, or official Telegram website.
Third-party Android app/APK store «APKPure» is distributing a modified version of Telegram disguised as official one. This modified Telegram contains a malicious "DataCollector" class that collects basically all information about you. The code also contains a hardcoded IP address. After checking it, the server location points to Hong Kong, China.
Also, APKPure’s latest "stable" Telegram update is still v12.6.5 from May 9, 2026, while the official stable update is already v12.7.3 from May 15, 2026. Another sign that APKPure distributes modified Telegram builds.
After checking the official stable Telegram build, I did not find any "DataCollector" class there — despite some people claiming it exists in the official app too.

Telegram launched @TIDABot for reporting non-consensual intimate images/videos — if you discover intimate content involving you on Telegram without your consent, you or your representative can submit a report through this bot.
Currently, the bot is available for U.S. residents and is used to file related content removal requests.

In the new stable update Telegram for Android v12.7.3 (6750), Telegram’s in-app browser was disabled.
To enable it again:

📱 In recent Telegram Beta updates for iOS and Android, a new «Thinking» block was added to Rich Messages for bots.
This is a temporary block displayed while a bot is generating a response. It disappears automatically once the message has been generated successfully.

In the new Telegram Beta for iOS v12.8.0 (33087), if you connect a bot to your account through «Chat Automation», a message will appear in your chat list asking whether it was you who connected the bot.
