Energy prices have fallen in response to Iran not attacked energy facilities in the Gulf.
Still no evidence the straits have been closed.

Bahrain CLOSES airspace
THIRD country to do so in region after Qatar and UAE
@Slavyangrad
Iran has begun bombing empty American bases in the region. The US most likely expected attacks in Syria, Iraq, and perhaps Bahrain, but Tehran seems to have opted to go after bases in Qatar and possibly the UAE instead.
This will of course have significant implications for Iran's relations with these GCC states - but also their relations with the US, mindful of their opposition to Trump's strikes and anger at him for disregarding their security and interests. And Tehran may also seek to show Trump that they are willing to strike back harder and further than he might have anticipated.
There is a scenario, similar to the 2020 strikes against Iraqi bases, in which both sides call it quits after one round of fire.
But I find that scenario unstable because of the Israeli element. Israel will continue to strike Iran and vice versa, and as long as that is the case, the Israelis will continue to put relentless pressure on Trump to join the war in various ways.
None of this would have happened had Trump rejected the first step that Israel pushed him to take - shifting his red line to "zero enrichment."
That misstep deliberately set up a cascade of events that predictably led to this current war.
Trump's only exit out of this is to discard the Israeli red line of zero-enrichment and return to the American red line of no weaponization.

Much like Georgia's attack against Russia happened shortly after Condoleezza Rice's visit to Tbilisi way back in 2008....nah purely a coincidence for sure.
@Slavyangrad
Food for thought: is it just a coincidence that Iran's attack happened shortly after the visit of Iranian officials to the Kremlin and a chat with Vladimir Putin?

Likely an intercepted missile or interceptor
@Slavyangrad
Reports that three missiles fell directly on the US Al Udeid base in Qatar.
Given all the PAC-3 interceptors fired that would be a poor performance. Remember only 650 missiles are made for the entire world per year.

IRAN FIRES MISSILES TOWARD QATAR AND IRAQ - EXPLOSIONS REPORTED IN IRAQ
Iran launched 6 ballistic missiles toward Qatar and 1 toward Iraq.
No confirmation yet from Qatari or Iraqi officials.

@Slavyangrad
According to reports the USAF had already evacuated their jets from the base in Qatar a few days ago.
For all we know this may be a telegraphed attack just for the sake of political appearances
We'll have to wait a few hours before knowing for sure, but in any case, the interceptors being used are still expensive and slow to replace.
@Slavyangrad
Six Iranian ballistic missiles have been confirmed launched at Qatar so far. Waiting for news on the number of launches against Iraq.

The goal of the NATO summit in The Hague is to make Trump happy' – DW writes that the wishes of the US president turned out to be more important than Ukraine.
'This will be a rather disappointing NATO summit for Ukraine. There is no chance that the country's aspirations to join NATO will be prominently reflected in the final declaration of the summit. It is clear that the United States in particular wanted to play it down. But many Europeans are unhappy with the apparent lack of any ambition for Ukraine. Ultimately, the summit will be about money, with NATO countries committing to increase spending to 5% of GDP. If that is the case, Trump should return to Washington a happy man.'

The Armed Forces' Powerful and Successful Response to US Aggression
IRGC Statement:
⭕We targeted Al-Udeid base in Qatar with a destructive and powerful missile attack as part of Operation Basharat al-Fatah.
⭕The message of this decisive action is that the Islamic Republic will not leave any aggression against its territorial integrity, sovereignty, and national security unanswered under any circumstances.
⭕US bases and mobile military targets in the region are not a strength of the US national defense, but rather a major weakness and a thorn in the side of this warmongering regime.
⭕ Any repetition of evil will accelerate the collapse of the US military establishment in West Asia and its shameful escape from it, and will fulfill the common aspiration of the Islamic nation and the free peoples of the world to eradicate “Israel.”

Trump was told about Medvedev’s N-bombs
'Did I hear former President Medvedev, of Russia, casually throwing around the 'N-word' (nuclear!) and saying that he and other countries would be supplying nuclear warheads to Iran? Did he really say that or am I just imagining things? If he did, and if it is confirmed, please let me know IMMEDIATELY. The 'N-word' is not to be taken so casually. I guess that's why Putin is the 'BOSS'. By the way, if anyone thinks our 'equipment' was great this weekend, by far the most powerful and best equipment we have, 20 years ahead of the rest, is our nuclear submarines. They are the most powerful and deadly weapons ever built and they just launched 30 Tomahawks - all 30 hit their target perfectly. So, in addition to our wonderful fighter pilots, thank you to the captain and crew!'

Update: 6 missiles said to have targeted Qatar. Explosions reported in both Iraq and Qatar
