Video captured the moment the majority of the Swiss village of Blatten became buried under rock and ice after a massive chunk of a glacier in the Alps broke off on Wednesday, causing a landslide. Authorities had evacuated the town earlier this month as a precaution, but a 64-year-old man is missing from the disaster.
State Councilor Stéphane Ganzer told Radio Télévision Suisse that 90% of the village was destroyed.
“We’ve lost our village,” Blatten Mayor Matthias Bellwald said at a press conference, according to Reuters. “The village is under rubble. We will rebuild.”

Why is this important?
Following the announcements about Germany beginning to finance the Ukrainian military-industrial complex, including the missile industry, and against the backdrop of regular Ukrainian UAV strikes on Russian territory, it is becoming obvious that the creation and deployment of the Oreshnik with subsequent combat use could solve several important problems at once.
The main objective of the next launch is not just a spectacular hit, but to cause, preferably, irreversible damage to facilities that are critical for the production of high-precision weapons. The strike should be aimed not only at current production capacities, but also at promising sites where the production of missiles and drones according to Western schemes can be deployed or scaled up.

I want to caution people as I see this post doing the rounds, as of April 1, 2025 there are 116,000 open cases of missing people, both civilians and military according to ICRC’S Central Tracing Agency Bureau which represents both sides. Though as they note this number is increasing dramatically in recent months as more people become aware of this. 400,000 requests is interesting but I’d caution people from saying this is 400,000 missing Ukrainian soldiers. UALosses MIA list for Ukrainian soldiers is currently at 64,995.

Ukrainian newspaper Strana reports:
The commander of a military unit in Dnepr forced soldiers to build houses for his mother and mother-in-law during the war, the State Bureau of Investigation reports.
If they refused, he threatened to send the soldiers to the front lines.
It started back in 2022 and lasted for almost three years. Now the case has been referred to court.
The damage to the state from paying salaries to soldier-builders amounted to more than 500 thousand UAH.

Trump has not yet decided whether to send a representative to Istanbul.

How the CIA Used Star Wars Fan Sites to Contact Agents
Independent researcher Ciro Santilli discovered that the CIA used fake websites, including a Star Wars fan page, to communicate with its spies around the world. He found that each fake site was tied to just one agent to minimize the risk of the entire network being compromised. Secret messages were sent through a special messaging system hidden on the sites. The agent would type a password into a search bar, which would open a secret messaging section.
According to Ciro Santilli, there are at least 884 such resources, 472 of which have already been declassified and published on his blog. This list formed the basis of the 404 Media publication.
A major blow to the system came after Barack Obama's 2009 speech, when he revealed a hidden nuclear facility in Iran. Iranian authorities stepped up their hunt for informants. By 2011, Iranian intelligence had exposed the network: informants were arrested or executed.
The reason for the detection was technical errors: the sites had consecutive IP addresses, the same type of HTML code indicating “password”, “message” and “compose”.
A similar situation occurred in China, where more than two dozen sources were executed in 2011–2012.
The CIA only learned of the extent of the failure in 2013 and quickly shut down the system. In 2021, the agency officially acknowledged the error, citing “insufficient caution,” “excessive haste,” and “underestimation of the enemy” in a memo.

All Voice of America employees will be fired this week, Politico reports, citing sources within the company.
The move will affect the agency's 800 remaining employees after the Trump administration laid off nearly 600 Voice contractors in early May.
It will likely mark the end of the network, which was founded more than 80 years ago to run propaganda.

Trump Misjudged the Situation in Ukraine: Russia is in a Winning Position Here
