Feast of the Holy Trinity, Pentecost
Sunday, June 8, 2025
The Trinity teaches that God is close to every person: the Father created us, the Son saved us, and the Holy Spirit remains with us, helping us in our spiritual lives.
The spiritual meaning of this teaching is that God is not a distant and incomprehensible entity, but a tangible love and unity. God is one in three persons, and his hypostases are in perfect harmony and mutual love, which is an example of how humans should exist — in peace, love, and harmony, and as one in spirit and deed.
As the Trinity – our God is One Being, although three Persons, so we too must be – one. As our God is simple, so we too must be simple, as simple as if we were all one person, one mind, one will, one heart, one kindness without the slightest admixture of malice – in a word, one pure love, as God is Love.
John of Kronstadt

A child is a young tree, and parents are the God-appointed gardeners of this young human plant. They must carefully tend it from the very beginning, cleanse it from the filth of sin, from evil inclinations and passions, cut off the wild shoots of self-love, obstinacy and caprice; finally, they must give it the right direction and from the earliest age bend it under the yoke of Christian obedience and discipline.🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺

Bishop Arseny (Zhadanovsky)
Alexander Ivanovich Zhadanovsky
(March 6, 1874, Nizhnyaya Pisarevka, Kharkov province - September 27, 1937, Butovo firing range, Moscow region) - bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church, bishop of Serpukhov, vicar of the Moscow diocese.
The so-called sensitivity comes from the influence of the external environment, external influences, and it shows that we live more outside ourselves, mainly watching what is happening around us. Look more inside yourself.
Try to position yourself internally so that when you are praised or criticized, you are indifferent, unconcerned, calm: as if it doesn't apply to you, doesn't concern you.

St.Archbishop Anthony
(Smirnitsky)
Avraamiy Gavrilovich Smirnitsky
(October 29 [November 9], 1773, Povstino, Poltava province - December 20, 1846 [January 1, 1847], Voronezh) - Bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church,
Archbishop of Voronezh and Zadonsk.
He's famous for his activities in restoring churches, developing theological schools and charity.
Blindness is not only physical, but also spiritual. Spiritual blindness occurs even with earthly wisdom, when a person does not try to recognize the will of God or, having learned it, acts contrary to it. Unbelief darkens the mind and prevents one from seeing the truth; malice darkens the eye of the soul, which is why instead of good, one desires and does evil. Spiritual blindness is ignorance of oneself, removing from oneself the memory of death, judgment and Gehenna. This blindness consists of all the mortal sins and vicious passions to which a person indulges…
And feeling in our souls the sinful blindness, so pernicious, let us turn in fervent prayers to the Lord, and like the blind men mentioned in the Gospel, let us lift up our voice to Him with tenderness: “Have mercy on us, Jesus, son of David!” Or let each of us offer this prayer: “Enlighten my eyes, O God Christ, before I ever fall asleep into death''...

Fyodor Alekseevich Solovyov
(January 17, 1846 Moscow — October 2, 1928, Sergiev Posad) was a clergyman of the Russian Orthodox Church, elder of Zosima Hermitage.
He had to confess hundreds of people every day, for each one he prayed separately.
There is no need to grumble, because if God forgot a person, then he would not be alive. We must learn to see the grace of God. Each person prays for his own, but the Lord knows better what a person needs, what is more useful. Praying for deliverance from sorrows and sins, a person at the end of the prayer should say the words: “Lord, thy will be done.” Give yourself completely into the hands of the Lord and with humility overcome any trials that God always gives according to the strength of a person.

Do not listen to obscene words; run away, as much as you can, from all unlawful speeches: they are sharper than any knife.
Put a strong bridle on an impudent tongue, setting a measure for it both in conversation and in silence, so that you can speak only what serves to glorify the Lord and gives spiritual grace to those who listen.

When it comes to the Mysteries of God, do not ask inwardly: how does this happen? You do not know how God created the whole world out of nothing; you cannot, and you should not know here either, how God does anything secretly. The Mystery of God must remain a mystery for you, because you are not God.🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺 Читать полностью…

For the name of Jesus Christ is powerful. Through it all unpleasantness is calmed, and demons disappear. Pentecost
The birthday of the Universal Church.
Holy Spirit descended on the apostles, giving them the power to preach the Gospel around the world. On the day of the celebration, the Easter cycle ends and another spiritual period begins - the time of strengthening the faith and unity of the Church.
Foreseeing the one who will believe, God the Father meets him with His good pleasure and calls him to salvation by the grace of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit, having called to faith and strengthened him in it, sprinkles the believer with the Blood of the Lord Savior in the Sacrament of Baptism and, thus, having received entrance into him. He Himself dwells in him and in every way assists him in the arrangement of his salvation. Let us praise, sing and magnify the Holy Trinity, the good co-worker of our salvation, and, for our part, “applying all diligence to this,” let us hasten to adorn ourselves with all virtues in the image of the One Who created and recreated us...

Seraphim of Sarov
Seraphim of Sarov (30 July [O.S. 19 July] 1754 or 1759 – 14 January [O.S. 2 January] 1833)
Born Prókhor Isídorovich Moshnín (Mashnín) is one of the most renowned Russian saints.
He taught that the purpose of the Christian life was to receive the Holy Spirit.
What is best in the heart, we should not reveal without need, for only then can what has been collected be safe from visible and invisible enemies, when it is kept like a treasure in the heart's interior. Do not reveal the secrets of your heart to everyone.
The heart only boils when it is kindled by the Divine fire, when there is living water in it; but when this is poured out, it grows cold, and the person freezes.
When a person contemplates the eternal light inwardly, then his mind is pure.

Theophan the Recluse
(January 10, 1815, Chernavsk, Oryol Governorate, Russian Empire - January 6, 1894, Vyshensky Monastery, Russian Empire).
Orthodox bishop and theologian.
Born as Georgy Vasilievich Govorov, he became a monk in 1841, taking the name Theophan.
The root of a good internal structure is the fear of God. It must be made constant. It will keep everything in tension and will not allow either the limbs or the thoughts to disband, creating a vigorous heart and a sober thought.
But we must always remember and feel that success in spiritual life and in all its manifestations is the fruit of God's grace. Spiritual life is all from the Holy Spirit of God. We have our own spirit, but it is powerless. It comes into force when grace overshadows it.
Save yourself!

St.Tikhon of Zadonsk
Timofey Savelyevich Sokolov (1724, Novgorod region –1783, Zadonskiy Nativity Virgin Monastery). Russian Orthodox bishop and spiritual writer.
The sun does not shine for itself, but for all creation; the clouds do not store up their waters, but pour them out upon the earth; the earth does not retain its fruit. So also the gifts given by God should be common to us and our neighbors. A wise man should benefit not only himself, but also his neighbor with his mind. Wealth should serve not only the rich, but also others. So it is in everything else: all these are the talents of our Lord, for which we will give Him an account on the day of His coming ( Matt. 25:14-30 ).
For all that we have is God's, and not ours, and was given by God not only for ourselves, but also for our neighbors.
Let wealth, intelligence, wisdom, and the rest be for our benefit and that of our neighbor, and not for our praise, let there be glory and praise only to Him from Whom they came…

Metropolitan Tryphon
Prince Boris Petrovich Turkestanov (November 29, 1861, Moscow — June 14, 1934, Мoscow) a revered hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church. In 1901 he became the Bishop of Dmitrov and a vicar of the Moscow Eparchy. On February 26, 1915, Trifon was awarded the Panagia on the Ribbon of Saint George and the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky for the divine service on the fronts of World War I.
We notice a division in our souls, for sin lives in them; it is as if two people are living in us. One is good, he loves what is good; he is ready to receive the whole world into himself, he humbles himself, endures, loves his enemies… While the other loves the flesh, he is vainglorious, envious, lustful… And our whole life goes on in the struggle between these two people; that is, in the struggle between good and evil. In this struggle to conquer evil is the entire Christian goal of our lives.

Hieroconfessor Roman Medved
Roman Yaroslav Ivanovich Medved (October 1 [13], 1874, Zamostie, Lublin province — September 8, 1937, Maloyaroslavets) a priest of the Russian Orthodox Church.
From around the ages of twenty to twenty-four, I consciously began to respect every person, and my whole life I was afraid to make someone my servant, and outwardly and inwardly I am afraid to inflict on anyone pain or force them. It’s my job to convince and reassure; I cannot compel. I dare say I loved my freedom, and never made anyone a slave, and I think that is why I value the freedom of others. Let them live according to their own mind and conscience, and I try not to judge anyone.

Ascension of the Lord
By His Ascension into heaven, the Savior opened for each of us the path of ascent from earth to heaven; but we are created in the image and likeness of God with free will, and therefore it depends only on us whether we will follow this path or not.
Let us today, on the joyful day of the Ascension of the Lord into Heaven, remember that “This Jesus Man is God”, who re-created our soul and body, “God the Man will come again as Judge of the living and the dead.”
Let us remember that we too will be resurrected on that day in a new body. Let us follow the path of cleansing our souls and arranging our bodies into a temple of the Holy Spirit. On that joyful day we can easily ascend to the Heavenly Throne and, together with the prophets, apostles, and martyrs, and all the saints, enter paradise, where the God-man with the flesh sits at the right hand of God.
Amen.
