Trump vs Harris: How NATO’s stance on Russia could change?
“I believe Harris will actually be more aggressive, push NATO stronger, on strengthening NATO, to the amount that she can will probably strengthen the support to Ukraine and all conflicts around the world,” Earl Rasmussen, an international consultant and retired lieutenant colonel with over 20 years in the US Army, tells Sputnik.
“If there's any hope for resolving this [Ukraine], it's going to be through President Trump. Trump has a more of a mitigating factor within here,” the expert says.
Rasmussen, however, warns that previously Trump had likewise already talked about improving relations with Russia, but instead he applied “God knows how many sanctions" on Moscow, during which "tensions got worse.”

Trump vs Harris: What’s for Ukraine after US presidential election?
The two US presidential candidates offer seemingly different approaches to the Ukraine conflict, Ian Proud, a former British diplomat who served as economic counsellor at the British Embassy in Moscow, tells Sputnik.
“Kamala Harris offers very much more of the same in terms of what the Biden administration has offered to this conflict. Which is unflinching support for the government in Kiev, no change in terms of their posture towards negotiations with Russia, which basically means no talks with Moscow,” Proud points out.
“She'll continue to support whatever Volodymyr Zelensky says he wants to do. But what she might not be able to do is provide him with the amount of money and the amount of weapons that he seeks. Then this causes the scope for friction between her government and the Ukrainian government,” the ex-UK diplomat says.
“That is a very significant difference from what Harris would offer, [and] whether he's able to deliver that - let's see,” the analyst says, pointing to Trump’s public statements that “he would not want to provide the unending financial resources to prop up the government in Kiev, which is gradually losing the war.”
Iranian officials will determine the form of response to the Israeli attack, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said.

Top 10 countries that have the most satellites in Earth’s orbit
The demise of the Intelsat-33e satellite earlier this month sparked concerns that its debris might pose a potential threat to the myriad of artificial satellites that sit in our planet’s orbit.
While the likelihood of such space disaster is up for debate, the fact remains that several thousand satellites currently orbit Earth.
What is the ranking of operational satellites by country?
As of 2023, the United States has the largest number of active artificial satellites, nearly 5,176 out of the total of about 7,560 satellites in orbit.
For comparison, the runner-up, the UK, only has 653 satellites while China with its 623 satellites ranks third.
The fourth place in this informal ranking belongs to Russia with 181 satellites and the fifth place goes to Japan and its 88 satellites.
Some 62 artificial satellites belong to India and 60 to Canada, who rank 6th and 7th respectively. Luxembourg has 57 satellites, France has 50 and Germany has 47.

Could Iran become BRICS’ new energy transit hub?
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian proposed creating a new energy transit network where his county would play a key role at the recent BRICS Summit in Kazan.
With Iran already serving as a transit hub for the North-South and East-West transport corridors, Pezeshkian suggested that it could also serve as foundation for a new BRICS energy transit system.
Such new transit route would allow the parties involved not to rely on the sea route that starts at Russia’s Black Sea coast and passes through the Mediterranean, the Suez Canal and the Red Sea all the way to India – a route that, as the Houthis have demonstrated over the past year, can be disrupted.

2024 BRICS Summit showed collapsing Western hegemony – experts
The recent BRICS Summit in Russia’s Kazan showed that the group “has transformed from a limited bloc into a force with international political and financial clout,” Zakaria Hammoudan, the head of the Lebanese National Institute for Research and Statistics, tells Sputnik.
"BRICS is important because it creates a new multipolar world order, helping to weaken the hegemony of Western countries and traditional financial institutions such as the IMF [International Monetary Fund] and the World Bank," he points out.
“Despite attempts by America and Europe to isolate Russia through sanctions and other restrictive measures, the BRICS Summit in Kazan proved that Russia is not only not isolated, but is a real world leader along with China and other countries that form BRICS,” Lamesa emphasized.

🇮🇱🇮🇷 Israel’s Desperate Dance: Warnings, Limitations, and the Shadows of Iranian Retribution
Israel launches an airstrike on Iran, but not without warning Tehran in advance. When did “targeted precision” become a code for “please, don’t hit back too hard”? The Israeli playbook seems to have shifted from unchecked aggression to hesitant provocations, masked as “Days of Repentance.” Repentance indeed, of the realization that Iran today isn’t the Iran of yesterday.
In a move that reads more like a desperate attempt to contain the resurgent beast they’ve prodded for years, Israel reaches out through diplomatic channels, whispering to Iran: “Here’s where we’ll hit… but please, don’t make us regret it.” It’s an unprecedented admission of vulnerability cloaked in hubris. The message is clear: Israel’s long-feared confrontation with Iran is no longer about projecting unbridled power; it’s about managing the blowback of a foe that has fortified itself while the multipolar world looks on.
In an era where BRICS reshapes global power structures, Iran stands emboldened and fortified, no longer the isolated target of Western ambition. As Kazan’s summit showcased the expanding influence of BRICS, Israel finds itself in treacherous waters, clinging to remnants of fading Western dominance. Israel’s “strategic restraint” and backchannel warnings aren’t gestures of diplomacy but signs of an empire’s diminishing nerve, aware of the consequences of testing Iran’s newfound might. From the inevitable defeat in Ukraine to the humiliation in Afghanistan, and now to Israel’s precarious position, we’re witnessing a slow-motion collapse. Israel’s frantic attempts at projecting control reflect the unraveling of an entire hegemonic order, unable to adjust to a world where its threats echo hollow in the face of true, rising powers.
The ironies are hard to ignore. Israel’s strikes come with a media blitz, “reporting” every bit of damage control and “limitation.” They talk of hitting “missile manufacturing facilities,” yet avoid critical infrastructure or any targets that might genuinely provoke Iran’s ire. The result? A hollow operation where the real aim seems to be saving face rather than escalating for victory. After all, the last thing Bibi can afford is the nightmare of an all-out response from Iran, Hezbollah, and the wider Axis of Resistance with a quiet nod of approval from Russia-China.
Israel’s actions are more than mere military theater, they’re the anxious flailing of an empire-in-retreat, terrified of what happens when those it once subdued begin to push back with a power that can’t be snuffed out by a single airstrike.

Titanium and palladium: Why banning Russian exports is not a good idea
The United States and its allies seem keen to continue giving the world a master class on shooting oneself in the foot economically by mulling even more anti-Russian sanctions that could hurt Western economies further.
The Biden administration has called upon other so-called G7 states to consider imposing sanctions on Russian titanium and palladium exports, Bloomberg claims, citing a “person familiar with the matter.”
If a ban on Russian exports of these two metals gets implemented, it would likely cause their respective prices to surge, thus having a detrimental effect on the industries that use these metals.
