👨‍🏫 اشتباه رایج در مورد اعداد (قسمت دوم):

2️⃣ کل یک عدد (مثلاً برای پول) بصورت یکپارچه و یک چیز دیده می‌شود و درنتیجه همراه با فعل مفرد بکار می‌رود.
مثال:
• Give me back that ten pounds you owe me. (not those ten pounds)
اون 10 پوندی که به من بدهکار هستی رو پس بده.
• Two million euros is difficult to earn. (not are difficult)
بدست آوردن دو میلیون یورو سخت است.


🖋 بنابراین جمله‌ی زیر اشتباه است:
❌ There are a hundred dollars in my wallet.
و شکل صحیح جمله‌ی قبلی بصورت زیر است 👇
✅ There is a hundred dollars in my wallet.
صد دلار در کیف پول من موجود است.

👨‍🏫 اشتباه رایج

1️⃣ کلمه‌ی until برای یک عمل یا وضعیت که تا زمان مشخصی ادامه پیدا می‌کند استفاده می‌شود:

• The shops are open until five thirty.
مغازه‌ها تا ساعت 5:30 باز هستند.
• I'll wait here until you get back.

2️⃣ کلمه‌ی by برای عملی که تا قبل از یک زمان مشخص اتفاق می‌افتد بکار می‌رود:

• I have to submit my dissertation by the end of next year.
من باید رساله‌ام را تا قبل از پایان سال تحويل بدهم.

👨‍🏫 با توجه به توضیحات بالا، جمله‌ی زیر اشتباه است:
❌ I will have finished this book until tomorrow.

توضیح گزینه‌ها:
1️⃣ اسم موزه‌ها معمولاً the می‌گیرد. مثلاً:
the Guggenheim Museum
the Science Museum

2️⃣ وقتی بین دو اسم of باشد، معمولاً قبل از اسم اول the می‌آید:
the University of Tehran
the Statue of Liberty


3️⃣ در اسم‌های دوکلمه‌ای که کلمه‌ی اول اسم یک مکان یا شخص است، معمولاً the استفاده نمی‌شود:
Cambridge University
New York Harbor
Dublin Airport

4️⃣ اسم هتل‌ها معمولاً the می‌گیرد و کلمه‌ی Hotel در آن قابل حذف است:
the Sheraton (Hotel)
the Imperial (Hotel)

👨‍🏫 این مورد اصلا جزو نکات اصلی تست نیست ولی چون چند نفر کامنت گذاشتن توضیح میدم. برای خیابون‌ها حروف اضافه‌ی on و in استفاده میشه. مثال:
• A couple were arguing out in the street.
• She parks her car in the street.
• Thousands of people were out on the streets for the protest.
• The man in/on the street assumes that all politicians are corrupt.

✍ البته in the street بیشتر در انگلیسی بریتانیایی کاربرد دارد و on the street در انگلیسی آمریکایی

📚کالوکیشن های مفید در مورد کتاب:


📒Clara was so engrossed/absorbed in her book that she didn't hear me.
کلارا آنقدر غرق کتابش بود که صدای منو نشنید.

📗Collins’ detective novel is so gripping.
رمان پلیسی کالینز بسیار جذاب است.

👨‍🏫 اشتباه رایج در مورد اعداد (قسمت اول):

1️⃣ وقتی کلمات "million/thousand/hundred" بعد از یک عدد دقیق می‌آیند، در حالت مفرد و بدون حرف اضافه‌ی "of" بکار می‌روند.
مثال:
two million pounds
two thousand years
three hundred
four billion

🖋 بنابراین عبارت زیر اشتباه است:
five/ten/fifteen millions of sth
و شکل صحیح آن بصورت زیر است 👇
five/ten/fifteen million sth


🖋 جمله‌ی زیر نیز اشتباه است:
The house cost 2 millions of dollars.
و باید به این صورت استفاده شود 👇
• The house cost 2 million dollars.

🗝 اگر از یک کمیت‌سنج (quantifier) مثل a few یا several استفاده کنیم، باز هم million/thousand/hundred بدون s بکار می‌روند:
several million years
a few thousand dollars
a few hundred
