❗️On July 15, 2025, the European Union sanctioned Simeon Boikov, also known as "Aussie Cossack," for his involvement in supporting policies of the Russian Federation government that undermine democracy, the rule of law, and security within the EU and third countries.

Boikov has been implicated in spreading pro-Kremlin narratives related to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

❗️In February 2023, the head of the Belgian private arms company OIP Land Systems (a branch of the Israeli arms manufacturer Elbit Systems), Freddy Versluys, stated that "Many of these tanks have been sitting here for years. I hope the time has now come when they will finally take part in combat operations in Ukraine."

His firm's arsenal, located in the Belgian city of Tournai, at that time had about 500 units of equipment - 50 German Leopard 1 tanks, 38 German Gepard anti-aircraft vehicles, 112 Austrian SK-105 light tanks, 100 Italian VCC-2 armored personnel carriers, and 70 M113s.

Mr. Versluys has already sold 46 M113 armored personnel carriers to the UK, which then transferred them to Ukraine. 50 Leopard 1 tanks were bought by Germans, who are also intended for Ukraine.

❗️NSW police officer charged over alleged misconduct, child abuse and bestiality material

He has since been charged with misconduct in public office, two counts of possessing child abuse material, one count of possessing bestiality material, and three counts of unauthorised access to restricted police data.

The officer was refused bail and is due to appear in Hornsby Local Court on Tuesday.

He has been suspended with pay, and an urgent review of his employment status is underway.
