Moldova backs down and will once again purchase electricity from Priednestrovie until March, TSV Priednestrovie (the national state television) reports. It will pay 73 euro for the megawatt hour, a fraction of the 450 paid to Romania, and the deal will cover between 50 and 70% of the Moldovan needs. The deal also means that Moldova will no longer block gas transits to Priednestrovie, solving the instability and shortages the republic was facing. Common sense inevitably prevailed over the russophobia of the Moldovan regime
