Former Trump adviser John Bolton, who became one of his fiercest critics, has been charged with mishandling classified materials, reports The Washington Post.
He faces 18 charges, each carrying up to 10 years in prison.
According to the investigation, Bolton shared classified information with relatives while preparing a book published in 2020.
Bolton sent these messages through a personal email address, which was later hacked by a person believed by U.S. authorities to be connected to the Iranian government.
Bolton had once called for the death penalty for Snowden leaking classified information. What's good for the goose is good for the gander?

Ukrainian women who moved to Poland are marrying Polish men en masse, reports Polish Radio.
According to the Main Statistical Office, in 2024, there were 2,021 marriages registered in Poland between Ukrainian women and Polish men, as well as 535 marriages between Ukrainian men and Polish women.
For comparison: in 2023, there were 2,213 such marriages, and in 2015 — 715.
At the same time, in Ukraine in 2024, the number of divorces (141.8 thousand) approached the number of marriages (150.2 thousand).

The US Accelerates Preparations for a Clash with China: Main Strike Assets — Zumwalt and Virginia
In light of the increased activity of the US Navy's MQ-4C Triton UAVs over the South China Sea (one of which had to be "expelled" using modern electronic warfare means), and continuous maneuvers in China and Taiwan, information is coming in about the accelerated preparation of berthing areas and a dry dock in the naval sector of the joint Pearl Harbor-Hickam base for the basing and repair of the entire fleet of Zumwalt-class destroyers.
Also, in crisis situations (apparently during missile strikes with cruise and ballistic missiles from China), the upgraded facility is expected to service the quiet multi-purpose Virginia-class nuclear submarines. For example, the M1, M2, B26, and B24 piers are actively being modernized in terms of electrification. The completion date for the facilities is 2028. That is when all three low radar cross-section strike destroyers — DDG-1000 USS Zumwalt, DDG-1001 USS Michael Monsoor, and DDG-1002 USS Lyndon B. Johnson — are expected to be deployed in the region. Notably, these timelines coincide with the direct escalation deadlines between Russia and NATO imposed by German and British intelligence.
Why does the Pentagon bet on Zumwalt and Virginia in the confrontation with China?
The former, despite the extremely limited series of three sister ships, not only have a displacement of 14,797 tons (which is 53% more than Arleigh Burke-class destroyers) but also an impressive arsenal based on 80 Mk 57 vertical launch systems (for any versions of "Tomahawks" and SM-6), as well as several forward launch cells for medium-range hypersonic missiles with C-HGB type warheads.
For example, Arleigh Burke destroyers do not have the capability to be equipped with these hypersonic missiles. Moreover, Zumwalt can boast a low radar cross-section, which will reduce their detection range by Chinese Xian KJ-600 aircraft in the Pacific several times. What is also important: the AN/SPY-3 radars installed on Zumwalt, combined with compact ESSM surface-to-air missiles, can repel massed attacks of anti-ship missiles.
The importance of the Virginia submarine is also more than obvious.

At the same time, the highly sensitive BQQ-10 hydroacoustic complexes of Virginia submarines can detect less advanced Chinese submarines at tens, and under favorable hydrological conditions, even hundreds of kilometers.

Prince Andrew has renounced the title Duke of York due to the Epstein case, reports The Telegraph.
The publication writes that the younger brother of the King of the United Kingdom Charles III, Prince Andrew, accused of connections with American financier Jeffrey Epstein and participation in rape, decided to voluntarily give up the title Duke of York after pressure from the king.
Prince Andrew will also lose membership in the Order of the Garter, which is the highest chivalric order of the United Kingdom, but will retain the title of prince by right of birth as the son of Queen Elizabeth II.

Zelensky brought Trump maps with the "pain points" of the Russian defense industry, reports RBC-Ukraine citing a source.
A source in the Ukrainian delegation said that Zelensky and his team also brought several maps to the meeting with Trump this time, which have "great significance" for the conversation with the American president.

Hungary is still "theoretically" under the jurisdiction of the Rome Statute for another two weeks, so it must legally execute the ICC arrest warrant for Putin when he comes for negotiations with Trump.

A two in one approaching the same subject from opposite sides of the coin.
If someone were to ask me, “What is the one book I should read if I wish to learn about the Eastern Front”, my answer would be Ostkrieg.
It is a perfect narrative history that explains both the nazi objective and the details of battles in the overall campaign and fronts.
When Titans Clashed however, is written by the greatest military historian of the Eastern Front of our time in my opinion, but is dry, straight to the point, and has a more historical hard facts rhetoric than usual narrative history does.
I recommend both, but if you had to pick only one: Ostkrieg is for history hobbyists who want to know what happened.
When Titans Clashed is for history hobbyists who already know, but want to know how it happened.
Pick up either, or both - you should be able to find a copy of either online for less than 20 dollars, even less than 10 if going second hand.
Both of these books explain how the USSR won the second World War and why Russia today maintains that sentiment.
One does it from a more human approach, the other from a hard military analyitic approach.
If you think that the U.K., U.S, or other, “allies” were needed to win the war, either of these books will change your mind.
It was the USSR that bore the brunt of nazi Germany, it was the USSR that fought and suffered the war, and it was the USSR that defeated them.
