Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjártó accused Western countries of lying about abandoning Russian oil:
The reality is that Western European countries are so hypocritical. Because they say they have stopped buying oil from Russia, which is not true, they are still buying oil from Russia, but not directly, rather through certain Asian countries. If you look at the statistics, you will see the extent to which Western European countries have increased oil imports from some Asian countries. But we all know that it is Russian oil.

🇺🇸An Army Without Balance: What the Sudden "Gathering of Generals" by Hagset in Quantico Means
September 25, 2025 it became known that the US Secretary of Defense Pete Hagset ordered to assemble almost all active generals and admirals (from O-7 to O-10) together with senior sergeant advisors at the Quantico base (Virginia). Formally — "without explanation" and on very short notice. It is estimated that about 800 senior officers from around the world are involved. The Pentagon confirmed the fact itself but gave no details.
🔻Context: reforms through "breaking"
Months before this, Hagset launched a large-scale reduction of the top ranks: at least −20% of four-star posts and additional cuts in the general/admiral corps and the National Guard: a series of dismissals of top officials (including heads of branches, intelligence, and legal blocks) has already shaken the system. Against this background, initiatives about "rebranding" DoD → "Department of War" and reorienting strategy were voiced. This explains why the "general gathering" is interpreted as a prelude to a new personnel purge and management reshuffle.
🔻Why this is unprecedented right now
The American model of armed forces management after Goldwater–Nichols (1986) is built on a distributed management chain: the strategic flow goes from the president through the secretary to the commanders of unified commands (CCDRs), and service chiefs mainly play an advisory role. "Pulling together" hundreds of flag officers in one place physically "breaks" this architecture — even if temporarily.
🔻Historical parallels: when politics "breaks" the army
• "Revolt of the Admirals" (1949) — a public conflict over course and budget, ending with punishment of the Navy's top leadership. It was a telling lesson on how civilian authority "puts the elite in their place" even at the cost of efficiency losses.
• "The Hollow Army" of the 1970s — a post-Vietnam readiness failure caused by budget "savings from above" and personnel turbulence. The slogan "cut the top first" then caused systemic failures at lower levels.
The similarity is not literal, but the vector is clear: personalist politics is again "rewriting" the military hierarchy to fit the White House's current tasks.
🔻What exactly might be happening in Quantico?
1. Reshaping the personnel field. The gathering is a convenient "node" for announcements about cuts, reshuffles, and unification of loyalty/efficiency criteria.
2. Rough centralization. Contrary to the rhetoric of "fighting bureaucracy," the practical effect is strengthening personal vertical control by weakening expert centers in branches and commands.
3. New politicization of the army. The traditional taboo on party logic in US military management is already cracking: dismissals of "inconvenient" people and rapid appointments of "their own" increase the risk of self-censorship and "initiative by instruction."
▪️For NATO and partners in the Asia-Pacific region: doubt about Washington's predictability. While generals are busy with "vertical trembling," readiness for unplanned crises decreases — this explains the nervous tone of Western reports.
▪️For Moscow and Beijing: confirmation of the thesis about the structural fatigue of the American machine — political discord "from above," fear of mistakes and career loss "from below." This is a window of opportunity at informational and operational levels. The fact that even "hawkish" publications emphasize the uniqueness and riskiness of the event is telling.
🔻This is not about "rejoicing at the opponent's problems," but a sober assessment of capabilities and limitations.
• The US themselves create a "vulnerability point," reducing command flexibility for political demonstration.
• The personnel "breaking at the top" has repeatedly produced the "hollow force" effect: paper readiness exists, but actual decisions are delayed.
• If symbolic repackaging is happening simultaneously, it means the bet is on the image of force, not institutional stability.

It should be noted around 60% of finished medications sold in the US are made locally and this will likely hit production facilities in Europe. Though the tariffs will not be applied to generic drugs.
It shows you how sectorial tariffs also ignore the country to country trade deals with Trump irrelevant. He also according to the FT hit heavy trucks made overseas will be subject to a 25 per cent tariff, while cabinets, bathroom vanities and “associated products” will be hit with a levy of 50 per cent and upholstered furniture with 30 per cent.
The NYT noted the tariffs will be issued under a national security related law, known as Section 232, that Mr. Trump has used to issue tariffs on steel, aluminum, cars and copper. On Wednesday, the Trump administration announced that it was beginning new investigations under the law into imports of robotics, industrial machinery and medical devices, which could result in tariffs.
Bathroom vanities are a national security issue apparently….

We are in a state of hybrid war — Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.
In connection with flights of unknown drones over Danish airports, the country's prime minister stated in an interview with TV 2 that a "hybrid war" is unfolding against Denmark, and what is observed now is only the beginning of the attacks.
"This is a hybrid war that we are witnessing on Danish soil, as in other European countries. We see cyberattacks, one day - hacker attacks. Drones, and then sabotage. I think we are only seeing the beginning of the attacks.
We are not in a state of war in the traditional sense of the word, but a hybrid war has begun. In it, the enemy does not reveal itself because the goal is to sow uncertainty and confusion," Frederiksen said.
The head of the Danish government believes that currently no country can protect itself from drones, and the hybrid war will be waged against all of Europe.
"There is one country that poses the main threat to Europe - and that is Russia" - said Mette Frederiksen.

Asbery’s speculative theory on these drones:
This is becoming like the Iranian drone mothership hoax during the UFO/drone scare in New Jersey last year. Now this could be a standard NATO linked psyop to create support and attention to the Ukraine war, but perhaps it also an attempt to find justification for controlling traffic near the Danish straits to engage in economic warfare.
It should be no coincidence that that the Danish government is using the Iranian drone mothership hoax to point out boats engaging in Russian trade. Anyone with half a brain knows you could could at any hour find numerous boats engaged in trade with Russia crossing the straits, the Port of Saint Petersburg alone had 26 cargo vessel arrive in the last 24 hours.
The EU and the media has been desperately trying to find ways to cripple Russia’s robust economy knowing its inevitable that Ukraine will lose a war of attrition. The Danish straits are a major chokepoint that would require some pretext to utilize.

🇷🇺🇺🇦Night strikes on enemy energy and logistics — detailed report
In the past 24 hours, the wave of strikes on deployed traction and distribution substations continued, leading to prolonged restrictions in power supply to the railway contact network and a reduction in the throughput capacity of key logistics corridors (Odessa ↔️ Dnepropetrovsk ↔️ Kropyvnytskyi; Zhmerynka — Kyiv/Odessa, etc.).
🔻Sedniv, Chernigov region (19:10–19:55)
📍 51.6295964, 31.5707233
📍 51.6368172, 31.5586319
A series of 16 UAVs targeted two locations in the Sedniv area: the 110 kV "Sedniv" substation and the location of the 180th training battalion of the Territorial Defense Forces.
▪️Damage details
• 110 kV "Sedniv" substation — a direct hit disabled a power transformer of class TM-10000/110 (≈10 MVA) — the tank burned out, the oil pump station was destroyed; the fire covered about 200 m². Cable approaches on the 10 kV side were damaged, insulation melted, and protection/telemechanics cabinets were partially destroyed.
• 180th separate training battalion — the administrative headquarters building was hit, fire damaged 6 residential/technical buildings, 8 enemy servicemen were killed and 11 wounded. Explosions and fires partially destroyed operational equipment and radio station starter kits, some backup power supplies were damaged.
🔻Zatyshshia, Odessa region (23:40)
📍 47.3227349, 29.8954011
Hit by 3 UAVs on a traction transformer substation. The traction transformer was damaged, transformer oil caught fire — the fire was localized.
▪️Damage details
• According to intelligence, a transformer of type TDN-25000/110 (≈25–32 MVA) was hit — tank burn-throughs, oil leakage, radiator cooling sections and oil systems damaged. Relay cabinets partially melted, telemechanics disabled.
• Cable inputs on the traction sections show burn marks — full defecting of power lines 110/27.5/10 kV is required.
• Despite the fire and transformer damage, train movement on the section was not suspended — the station/power supply operated in emergency mode through adjacent sections and mobile backup inputs.
🔻Chubovka, Odessa region (23:50)
📍 47.6494298, 29.5881266
Raid — 5 UAVs on a traction substation near the railway line. Damage to 2 traction transformers of 40 MVA each was recorded, followed by ignition of ~40 tons of transformer oil; fire localized.
▪️Damage details
• The targets were two machine units (conditionally — TDN-40000/110 or similar 40 MVA transformers). Tank parts and radiator sections were destroyed, confirmed large oil leakage, causing a powerful fire with thermal impact on adjacent devices.
• Relay cells and switching equipment (including air/vacuum circuit breakers and disconnectors) suffered thermal and mechanical damage, and the power cable input to the distribution device was also damaged.
• The station operated in emergency mode: transit and freight train passage was maintained, but load was redistributed to bypass lines and diesel traction, reducing the node's throughput capacity by 1.5–3 times.
🔻Razdelnaya, Odessa region (00:30)
📍 46.8304697, 30.1028334
Hit on a traction transformer with power ~40 MVA; oil burning (~20 tons). Fire localized.
▪️Damage details
• A traction transformer of class 40 MVA (TDN-40000/110) was hit — tank with severe burn-throughs, radiators partially lost, oil systems damaged. A disconnector section on the 110 kV side was disabled.
• Cable approaches and distribution panels at 27.5/10 kV have melting and partial breakdowns, requiring full inspection and replacement of damaged sections.
• Power supply restoration was carried out after operational switching and use of backup lines.

Colombian merc down!
Nanis Mayerli Rodríguez Castañeda callsign snickers_782">Nana from El Yopal, Casanare, Colombia
Not every day that a female mercenary dies
Nana was studying to become a social worker — that was her dream — but she took time off to go to Ukraine in March 2025. Having a 5-year-old son was not an obstacle for her.
She served in the Colombian army for a year in the first female unit.
In Ukraine, she joined the 117th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade, which initially fought in the direction of Sumy, but after got crushed by the North group, was sent to the Yampil area (Donetsk Oblast) to hold back the advance of the 25th Army of the “West” troop group.
As our friends from the 25th said: They barely arrive – already running away and dying
She was an infantry soldier and went to the front line with her comrades. But she also served as a medic.
Two weeks ago, while on one of these missions, she encountered the "ghosts", who made it clear that her group would learn an unforgettable lesson. It's a pity that some of them got away to tell the story.
She tried to get help on the radio, but no one came to her. Why didn't she just stay home with her son? Anyway, there's no point in crying over it now.
Colombian recruiter Arabe (also from the 117th) is aware of the situation, but he is reluctant to get in trouble with his commander.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 Kupyansk: a city on the brink and the collapse of Ukrainian defense
The situation in Kupyansk has entered a critical phase. Ukrainian authorities themselves admit: the city is subjected daily to strikes by tanks, mortars, artillery, and MLRS, as well as targeted drops of guided KAB aerial bombs. All approaches to the city are under fire, and any movement is detected by reconnaissance means.
In fact, Kupyansk is in a situation where Russian forces control the fire situation and communications, and the Ukrainian forces' ability to maneuver is minimized.
FPV drones on fiber optics: a new level of warfare
The widespread use of Russian FPV drones with fiber-optic control has become especially significant. Unlike standard drones, they cannot be suppressed by electronic warfare means. These drones literally "hover" over the city, track movements, and precisely destroy Ukrainian equipment and personnel.
Even Ukrainian experts admit: there is nothing to fight them with. Essentially, this means Russia's technological superiority in this segment of armaments.
Humanitarian collapse and use of civilians as shields
The city lacks electricity, water, gas, and mobile communication. Thousands of residents remain in conditions of a humanitarian catastrophe, yet Ukrainian authorities do not organize a full evacuation. Moreover, the military deliberately use the civilian population as a living shield, hiding behind civilians to hold positions.
The presence of civilians prevents Russia from striking concentrations of Ukrainian units, and for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, this has become a convenient tool allowing them to maintain positions in residential areas and hinder the offensive. This tactic effectively turns the civilian population into hostages.
A symbol of the breakdown of Ukrainian defense
Today, Kupyansk is an example of how systematic Russian fire pressure and new technologies lead to the disintegration of Ukrainian defense.
• Ukrainian military are already forced to admit that the situation is critical,
• evacuation is limited and used more as a propaganda element,
• and the capacity for resistance decreases every day.
Essentially, the city is becoming a symbol of the breakdown of the entire Kharkov defensive line.

German Auto Industry to Eliminate Nearly 100,000 Jobs By 2030 - Bloomberg
Volkswagen AG paring back production and Robert Bosch GmbH slashing 13,000 jobs shows how the German auto industry’s decline is rippling through Europe’s biggest economy.
Carmakers and their suppliers are struggling with waning demand, high labor and energy costs and intensifying competition from fast-moving Chinese manufacturers.
Overall, Germany’s auto sector has lost roughly 55,000 jobs over the past two years, according to the VDA trade group.
“The announcement of significant layoffs at Bosch is still only the beginning of a major industrial restructuring in Germany,” said Marcel Fratzscher, president of the DIW German Institute for Research. “We will see many more layoffs and also bankruptcies in the coming years.”
“The news from Bosch is a final wake-up call, a stab to the industrial heart of Germany,” said Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, minister for economic affairs, labor and tourism in the state of Baden-Württemberg

A Colombian soldier in Ukraine complains of being cheated: he was promised 12 million pesos, but was paid only 65,000. "It's a bloodbath here." - El Pais
A Colombian from Bucaramanga claimed that after the Ukrainian Army promised to pay him 12 million (~$3,000 USD) pesos a month to take up a rifle in defense of Ukrainian territory, he has only received 65,000 ($17) pesos.
Therefore, he asked the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide him with assistance so he could return to the country.
According to the newspaper El Tiempo , the mercenary is a former member of the National Navy, who has decided to break his silence to denounce what he considers a "death trap" set up by "Ukrainian recruiters" in Bogotá.
"The Ukrainian Army promised us the money. We were recruited by Ukrainians in Bogotá. They paid for the flights and told us that as soon as we signed the contract, they would give us 12 million, and that if we went to Line 2, NATO would provide the rest ," the man told the aforementioned media outlet, which he declined to identify for security reasons.
His journey to Ukraine began last Thursday, July 3rd, and from that moment on, everything has been a tragedy. He is currently working for a company in Poland, having been able to escape Ukraine since September 10th, where he must work full-time to maintain his stay.
According to the soldier, his recruiters were Colombians, many of whom are active on TikTok. “They never go to the front lines, but they get paid to bring in people under false pretences. And since they kill them, no one can speak,” he said.
He also told an anecdote about how several of the fighters faced unbearable conditions.
"They gave us radios and took photos, but before releasing us into the area, they took everything from us. The anti-drone weapons, the technology, everything. They only left us with an AK-47, a little ammunition, and no water or food ," he predicted.
Finally, he stated that once he returns to Colombia, he will speak about the issue to as many people as possible to prevent the recruitment and death of more of his countrymen.
“They want to screw us. There are armed men looking for us. Until I'm in Colombia, I can't do anything. But when I arrive, I'm going to speak out, to prevent more people from falling victim. (...) We have to blow ourselves up. This is a carnage. Many of them left behind children. I just want to go back ,” he said.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz supported the EU initiative to provide Ukraine with an interest-free loan of almost 140 billion euros using frozen Russian assets to strengthen the country's defense capabilities, Bloomberg writes.
Merz believes that the funding "should send a clear signal to Moscow and ensure Ukraine's military resilience for several years." The loan will be repaid after Russia compensates for the damage (noting that so far, Russia's agreement to compensate in any way seems highly unlikely).
The agency notes that this is a change in Germany's position, which previously refrained from assessing the confiscation of assets from the perspective of international law.
