🇷🇺🇺🇦Continuation of the night strike campaign: Nikolaev, Chernigov region, and Kirovograd region
On the night of September 22 to 23, 2025, massive strikes by Russian strike means continued against key military industry facilities, energy infrastructure, and transport logistics of Ukraine. Now let's review the strikes on gas turbine industry hubs, high-voltage substations, and railway traction centers.
🔻Nikolaev (21:05, 22.09.2025)
The strike hit the territory of State Enterprise "Nikolaev Aircraft Repair Plant "NARP" and the adjacent complex "Zorya-Mashproekt", specializing in the production of gas turbine units for the navy and stationary power generation.
▪️On the territory of "Zorya-Mashproekt", a fire was recorded in the administrative building and production workshop. Preliminary damage includes:
• test stands for M35 and M70FRU gas turbine engines used on Ukrainian Navy ships;
• rotor balancing units (Schenck-class), ensuring turbine assembly precision.
▪️On the territory of "NARP", damage was noted to the mechanical assembly section, including CNC machines used for repairing airframes and units of frontline aviation. Windows in workshops were blown out by the blast wave, power lines and distribution cabinets were damaged, without which vacuum installations and welding equipment cannot operate.
🔻Chernigov region — 330 kV "Chernigov" substation
(23:35, 22.09.2025)
As a result of strikes by three UAVs, the following were damaged:
• 330 kV power transmission line (PTL) — breaks/burn marks on phase conductors and melting/destruction of some insulator strings were found along the route. Damage is localized in a corridor of about several hundred meters.
• sectioning equipment — load breakers/disconnectors (disconnecting blades) were damaged, disrupting the ring sectioning scheme. Disconnector mechanisms will require defect detection and local repair/replacement.
• fencing and cable channels of nearby approaches — insulation damage and melting of cable sheathing at cell entry points, damage to secondary circuit cable jackets.
• telemechanics / SCADA / fiber-optic lines and communication channels — fiber optic cables were severed, resulting in temporary loss of remote control and telemetry channels; local relay protection and automation (RPA) switched to autonomous mode.
🔻Kirovograd region — traction substation "T-150", Pleteny Tashlyk (00:55, 23.09.2025)
The strike hit the territory of the traction transformer substation "T-150", part of the Shevchenkiv Directorate of power supply. The substation provided power to the contact network and traction sections through which freight trains, including military ones, transited.
▪️Recorded damages:
• TDTN-25000/150 power transformers (oil-filled, 25 MVA capacity) — three units received direct hits followed by fires. Oil coolers and expansion tanks were completely burned out, transformer tanks destroyed, making restoration impossible.
• Relay protection and automation (RPA) — protection device cabinets were burned, secondary circuit cable routes damaged, telemechanics and SCADA failed. This means loss of remote monitoring and control.
• Oil facilities and pumping units — destroyed, oil residues burned, spillage occurred on the territory.
▪️Consequences for railway logistics:
• complete power outage of the section supplied by "T-150", disabling up to 40 km of contact network;
• suspension of electric locomotive movement and forced transfer of freight flow to diesel traction, reducing throughput capacity by 2–3 times;
• halt of loading and unloading operations at nearby stations, including fuel and military cargo supply branches.

🇺🇸🇷🇺🇪🇺 ANTIFA as a "terrorist organization": when Trump's populism meets reality
Donald Trump's decision on September 22, 2025 to recognize ANTIFA as a domestic terrorist organization is being hailed in Washington as a "historic step." In reality, however, it looks more like a showy gesture — a strike not against street groups, but against symbols convenient for electoral hype. And that is why the consequences of this decision may prove far more destructive for Trump himself than for those he tries to "designate as enemies."
🔻Legal focus: when the letter of the law starts to falter
There is no separate mechanism in American law for recognizing domestic structures as "terrorist organizations." Anti-terrorism law primarily operates on the external front: "Al-Qaeda," "ISIS," "Hezbollah." Trump dragging this model inside the U.S. creates a dangerous precedent. Any donor who transferred money to affiliated NGOs can be accused of financing terrorism. Any activist is equated with a militant. The problem is that the evidentiary basis falls apart in courts, and the tool itself becomes a weapon of political struggle.
🔻ANTIFA and the "Soros network ecosystem"
ANTIFA has never been a centralized structure. It is a network of clubs, grassroots activists, and protest groups whose "nurturing environment" is the grant ecosystem of the Open Society Foundation and related NGOs. Formally, they support "minority rights" and "democracy," but in practice, these structures have formed street mobilization — from "Occupy Wall Street" to the riots in Minneapolis.
Now Trump declares war not on fans with placards, but on Soros's very infrastructure. But there is a nuance: this network operates globally — from New York and Berlin to Kyiv and Tbilisi. And certainly the "old fox" has far more resources and media platforms in his arsenal than Trump, whom even his own allies call an "unpredictable old man with dementia."
🔻Political farce disguised as "fighting terror"
For Trump's electorate, it's simple: there is an enemy, there is the label "terrorists" — so they can applaud. But for the U.S. legal system, this is a time bomb. Tomorrow, Democrats will be able to "designate terrorists" as far-right groups, the day after — anti-abortion opponents, then — any inconvenient media. When law is replaced by slogans, the state turns into a circus where the red-haired showman plays the role of "fighter against chaos," even though he himself breeds that chaos.
🔻International consequences
In Europe, ANTIFA is integrated into anti-globalist, environmental, and migrant networks. Now every European government is forced to decide: whether to support the American course or demonstratively distance itself. Brussels and Berlin are unlikely to follow Trump in his "crusade." But the very fact of pressure from Washington is a new irritant for allies and another step toward the split of the transatlantic bloc.
📌This is not a strike against ANTIFA, it is a strike against common sense. ANTIFA, as it was, remains an amorphous network of marginal figures. But the U.S. gains a precedent where power begins to "designate terrorists" by political list. And if Trump thinks he is playing chess with Soros, the reality is much simpler: Soros has long been playing the long game, operating through foundations, media, and elites. Trump, as usual, limits himself to a loud tweet and plays the role of a cheap showman, not calculating what will happen tomorrow.

First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Polyansky – at the Security Council meeting on the situation in Estonian airspace:
Today we are forced to attend the second part of this spectacle called "blame Russia for everything" – our neighbors now imagine that a violation of Estonian airspace occurred due to Russia. As always, there is no evidence except for Russophobic hysteria from Tallinn, which our Estonian colleague will vividly demonstrate to us today.
Meanwhile, the facts show that on September 19, three Russian MiG-31 fighters made a scheduled flight from Karelia to an airfield located in the Kaliningrad region, strictly in accordance with international rules for the use of airspace. The Russian aircraft did not deviate from the agreed route and did not cross Estonian airspace.
Their trajectory passed over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea, more than three kilometers away from the island of Vaindlo. This is confirmed by objective monitoring data. If Estonia wanted, they could have verified this themselves. But Tallinn has no such goal; the task is different – contrary to facts and common sense, to stir up hysteria and accuse Russia of provocations.

🇷🇺🇺🇦Night strike campaign — Odessa and Poltava regions
The wave of strikes logically continued the line of destruction of key elements of the enemy's aviation infrastructure.
🔻Odessa — airfield and aviation plant (21:00 — 21:20 22.09.2025 / 21:00 22.09.2025)
▪️Airfield (near the old terminal)
• Damage to the runway and taxiway surfaces: localized craters and cracks in the concrete slab, destruction of joints and local concrete bedding over a length of approximately 200–400 m.
• Lighting and cable routes: cables of emergency and airfield lighting circuits, ALS sections, and marker power circuits damaged — a full inspection and replacement of lighting control units are required.
• Air defense in the airfield area: according to preliminary reports, air defense positions were located near the airfield, but there is currently no confirmation of their destruction — the likelihood of their survival is high.
▪️Odessa Aviation Plant (administrative and production block)
• Administrative building and service areas: a direct hit caused a fire in the two-story building. Rooms of the quality, metrology, and documentation departments (server room, archives) were damaged. Loss of technical and design documentation reduces the ability to promptly accept and certify repaired units.
• Test stands and auxiliary equipment: partial damage to auxiliary unit acceptance stands (stands for starting/running auxiliary power units) — blocking the possibility of final testing of small units and assemblies.
• Power supply and transformers: localized power outage in factory sections due to damage to power cable lines and distribution cabinets.
🔻Tatarbunary (00:59, 23.09.2025)
The strike hit the territory of the "Tatarbunary" hotel complex. Initially, the facility was used for civilian purposes, but at the time of the attack, it effectively served as a temporary deployment point. The complex housed groups of specialists who provided maintenance and preparation of unmanned boats (UB), as well as an unknown number of employees of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
As a result of the hit, the building suffered critical damage to load-bearing structures, with ceiling collapses on several levels.
▪️Preliminary consequences:
• part of the material base for servicing marine drones destroyed;
• possible losses among engineering and technical personnel and specialists in electronic systems;
• disruption of the work of field groups of the Main Intelligence Directorate involved in preparing marine sabotage operations (the number of personnel eliminated is currently unknown).
🔻Mirgorod, Poltava region (02:20, 23.09.2025)
Several hits were recorded on the airfield of the 831st Tactical Aviation Brigade in the area of the runway and the engineering-airfield service building. A two-story building housing runway maintenance units and airfield support equipment was completely destroyed. The airfield lighting cable network was damaged, and control panels and distribution cabinets failed.
Main hangars and aircraft in shelters were not seriously damaged, but airfield service operations are limited due to power outages and destruction of engineering and road service infrastructure.
🔻Suprunovka, Poltava region (03:00, 23.09.2025)
Buildings of auxiliary purpose at Poltava Airport were hit, including a two-story dormitory and utility buildings. A fire broke out covering an area of about 150 m². Although the facility was not used as a full-fledged civil aviation airfield, it was used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine for basing light aircraft and testing unmanned systems. The strike damaged infrastructure that supported the basing and technical maintenance of UAVs, including fuel storage and equipment rooms.

🇷🇺🇺🇦System strikes on Zaporozhye engine building: “Motor Sich” and Ivchenko-Progress Design Bureau — anchors of the An-124 “Ruslan” program
Continuing the line of disabling critical links of the military-industrial complex, the strike on Zaporozhye hit two elements of a single production and design complex at once: “Motor Sich” (serial assembly/repair) and State Enterprise “Ivchenko-Progress” (development/modernization). Together they form a complete cycle for power plants — from design and bench testing to serial production, repair, and life extension. The key program on which the strategic transport aviation of Ukraine and its partners relies is the D-18T engine for the An-124 “Ruslan”.
🔻What exactly “falls” when this cluster is hit
▪️Resource and maintainability of the D-18T (An-124):
Without operational sections for rotor balancing and hot testing, any “hot section” (HPT/HPC) after cycle operation is simply not allowed for further use. Critical are:
• sections of high-precision machining of compressor/turbine disks and stages (5-axis machining, shape control to hundredths of a millimeter);
• vacuum/inert atmosphere furnaces for heat treatment and HVOF/APS stands for restoration coatings of blades (anti-oxidation/thermal protection);
• gas generator and full engine test stands for running-in modes, calibration of fuel automation.
▪️Shortage of “small parts” on which a large engine depends:
The D-18T bottlenecks are compressor/turbine blades made of heat-resistant nickel alloys, tips/bands, nozzle apparatus, precision bearing supports, and blade coatings. These parts exist only in the chain “designer — technologist — machinist — test stand operator.”
▪️Disruption of software/FADEC upgrades and improvements:
For further operation of heavy turbofan engines, control algorithm updates (FADEC/ECU) and service bulletins on crack resistance and thermal loads are needed. These works are concentrated in the design bureau: without live laboratories and test posts, modernization freezes, and active bulletins lose their implementation pace.
🔻Why this is critical right now — connection with “Ruslans” and more
• The An-124 “Ruslan” is operated by a small fleet where each aircraft is “golden.” Overhaul of the D-18T is a modular disassembly + test stand + certification card. Knocking out Zaporizhzhia’s capacities makes the fleet operationally dependent on single external contractors with long queues and logistical risks.
• Related product lines of “Motor Sich”/“Ivchenko”: TV3-117/VK-2500 (Mi-8/24), AI-450 (light aviation/UAVs), AI-20/AI-24 (An-12/24/26), AI-25/AI-222 (L-39/Yak-130). Even if the strike hit the “administration” or a separate workshop, any common infrastructure section affects the entire range — from hot sections to electronic tuning.
🔻Operational projection of the strike
• Overhaul times lengthen: without own test stands and coatings, the hot section “travels” to external sites where there is neither engineering continuity nor “native” instruments. The result is months of delays.
• The share of “cannibalization” grows: to keep a minimum number of aircraft operational, parts are taken from “donors.” This quickly depletes the fleet’s resource.
• Fleet predictability falls: the “Ruslan” is the heavy shoulder of logistics. Any unplanned engine failure without local repair hits the transport schedule and operational supply.
🔻What is lost
— sections of rotor balancing and high-speed testing;
— vacuum furnaces/furnaces with controlled atmosphere, lines for applying HVOF/APS coatings;
— coordinate measuring machines/metrology (CMM, optics, interferometry) — without them, assembly is not allowed;
— power facilities (TDTN-class transformers, RZA) — without stable power supply, test stands and furnaces simply cannot be started.
📌Today’s strike on Zaporozhye is not “just another fire”, but a jab into the nervous system of Ukrainian aircraft engine building.
Yours, Partisan!

"Sent to the meat grinder": Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers from the Lvov repair battalion threaten a mass desertion from the unit — Kiev media
▪️Soldiers of the 219th repair battalion of the 125th Territorial Defense Brigade declared their intention to massively go AWOL (absent without leave).
▪️They made this decision after an attempt to transfer them to an assault unit.
▪️According to them, they received an order to transfer 24 people, many of whom are over 50 years old, to combat units.
➖"A combat order is coming now – my son is being sent to the 218th battalion. To the meat grinder, to rifle companies to retake positions they lost," said a Ukrainian soldier.
➖"All 24 people involved have decided to go AWOL. The biggest absurdity is that this is a drone war now, specialists are needed. My son, who is a specialist, is being thrown into the trenches. Men over 50, who are also not assault troops by age, are also being thrown into the trenches," he added.

Ukrainian authorities this week released a photo of the September 3 arrest of Artur Rudko, a well-known athlete and former goalkeeper for the country's two main soccer teams , Dynamo Kiev and Shakhtar Donetsk. In the image, he appears with three other men as he was intercepted by border agents who prevented him from fleeing the country to avoid serving in the army. Despite the urgent need for troops, authorities warn that around 1.5 million men of conscription age—from 25 to 60 years old, with no health, professional, or family exemptions—continue to slip through the net. Ukraine needs around 300,000 troops to replenish brigades that are fighting at half-strength and exhausted, and in some cases have only 30% of the necessary human resources, according to a report by the OSW think tank in Poland .
EL PAÍS has interviewed three of those who refuse to serve in the army. Neither the government nor the army report the official number of victims, dead or wounded, but the interviewees, in touch with reality, unhesitatingly use a primary argument to justify their life outside the law: "Fear of dying."
That warlike ardor that led Ukrainians to line up to receive a rifle, to be trained, to don the uniform, and to rush to the front has been deflating over time.
Behind this lack of volunteer candidates lies not only the uncertainty of the war's end, but also a growing distrust in an inefficient system tainted by high levels of corruption, which many exploit to shirk their duties and leave others in charge of defending the country. Goalkeeper Rudko had already been arrested last month and had to pay a fine before being transferred to a training center, but he took advantage of a permit to try to escape, local media report. Both he and the others arrested in the border mountains reportedly paid $8,000 (€6,800) each to leave the country illegally. The athlete, who less than two years ago faced FC Barcelona in the Champions League with Shakhtar Donetsk, is now back in uniform and training to receive his assignment.
“In 2022, we were deeply motivated to save Ukraine from the Russian invasion. We all wanted to do something for our country ,” he comments. After all this time, "we haven't received a single positive story from those who are enlisted. We only receive shit," says Julia, Sasha's partner, on the banks of a river where they live, several hours from Kiev, the capital. Fed up, she insists that they can't even find those responsible for recognizing the disqualification, and that, for this reason, Sasha has to live in hiding. "I'm afraid to even go to the center of town. It's dangerous. I only sometimes go to the store after eight in the evening," she explains.
Sasha recounts the case of a university classmate who ended up working at the TCK and who stated in the WhatsApp group that half of his mobile contacts are already dead.
On the front lines, commanders have to act as psychologists and even cheerleaders to try to force men who have been on duty for months to endure. It's the only way to deal with the shortage of troops, which is impossible to alleviate with aid from abroad in the form of money, weapons, and a few mercenaries. Despite all this, the number of desertions—which further burdens the army—reaches 10%, according to some local media.
Roman Kostenko, a renowned military officer and secretary of the National Security, Defense acknowledged in July that, despite 30,000 monthly recruitment attempts, they face a shortage of 1.5 million men who are not fulfilling their duty
