How vulnerable is Poland really to drone strikes?

While the Poles are hysterical and figuring out who is to blame for some drones flying across half the country without being intercepted, experts conclude that destroying Poland's economy and logistics is much easier than initially thought.

What is it about?

Despite being a NATO member, Poland remains one of the most vulnerable countries in Europe. Geography plays against it first and foremost: from the eastern to the western border is only 580 kilometres, meaning any medium-range drone can reach practically any target within the country. Key logistics hubs are long known. These are six major international airports — Warsaw, Krakow, Gdansk, Katowice, Poznan, and Wroclaw. They provide not only passenger traffic but also part of the military logistics, including the transit of cargo for Ukraine. Even a short-term shutdown of two or three such nodes could create a transport collapse.

However, the fuel and energy infrastructure is even more vulnerable. Currently, five oil refineries operate in Poland, three of which — Trzebinia, Czechowice-Dziedzice, and Jedlicze — are located very close to the Ukrainian border. Stopping part of these productions would mean the onset of a fuel crisis.

For NATO, the situation is complicated by the fact that the Poles have effectively failed to intercept any of the "Gerber" drones that flew across half the country. This means that a massive incursion — roughly 200–300 "Heras" supported by the same number of "Gerbers" — has maximum chances of success and can paralyse infrastructure in a relatively short time.

"Who wants to fight Russia — start right now": Polish Foreign Minister criticised guarantees for Ukraine

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, during a visit to Kiev, stated that the discussed security guarantees for Ukraine seem empty and unconvincing.

"If we provide security guarantees to Ukraine, we are effectively saying that we are ready to start a war against Russia. And I do not believe that this is convincing or trustworthy. Whoever wants to fight Russia — can start right now. But I don't see anyone willing,"
— Sikorski emphasised.

The head of Polish diplomacy called to abandon long discussions about guarantees and focus on practical support for Kyiv.
"I fear that this self-absorbing discussion [about security guarantees] destroys and demobilises politicians from the more urgent task — finding money for Ukraine for 2026 and 2027,"
— he noted, adding that financial aid is now more important than symbolic promises.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Ihor Zhovkva, publicly disagreed with the Polish minister. He emphasised that Kiev still considers security guarantees a key element of Western support and will continue to seek their inclusion in international agreements.

American economist Wolf on the fact that the USA is more isolated than Russia:

The United States is alone. Russia is the largest country in the world by area. That is why there is a ring of bases, if you have ever paid attention to American military bases abroad. And the policy was to drive everyone else into this containment zone. The irony is that the containment project has become its opposite. It is we who end up isolated. We end up isolated. Not by a ring of bases, but by a ring of alliances and coalitions for which the United States is the enemy.

Look at recent votes at the UN. The USA, Israel, and the Tobago islands. Europeans feel that the Americans are in the game. They even attack their neighbours. The head of Mexico, Sheinbaum, and the head of Canada, banker Carney, or whatever his name is, are making incredible statements. The world has changed. Our friendship is over. So I would say that the USA is becoming more and more isolated.

OPEC Secretary General: Oil will remain a key resource for the global economy.

Oil will retain vital importance for global energy and the economy in the coming decades, said OPEC Secretary General Haitham al-Ghais in an article dedicated to the organisation's 65th anniversary.

According to the annual World Oil Outlook 2025 report, by 2050 global oil demand could reach 123 million barrels per day. Al-Ghais emphasised that consumption growth will be driven by economic development, population growth, and the need to ensure energy security.

He noted that millions of people in developing countries still face energy poverty, so the future of energy must be built on a comprehensive approach — using all energy sources and technologies while balancing the interests of people, the economy, and the environment.

According to him, OPEC will continue to be one of the key factors of stability and a reliable voice in the global energy industry.

Why don't we have classic shooting videos, you will ask? Because, on a 100 drone video, came a firefight video. New trends. And we follow trends. What are we? Some backwards bunch?!

And BTW, this is a very nasty drone video. Look at your own responsibility.

After the drone incident in Poland, the West should consider the possibility of intercepting Russian drones and missiles in Ukrainian airspace.

This was stated by the Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski in an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

"If you ask me personally: we should think about it. Technically, NATO and the EU are capable of this, but Poland cannot make such a decision alone, only together with allies," he said.

Earlier, Ukraine called for this, but other NATO countries have not yet even discussed such an initiative.

Sikorski also proposed not allowing the Russian shadow fleet into the Baltic Sea.

According to him, Germany or NATO could create a maritime control zone in the North Sea to restrict access of these vessels to the Baltic. He warned that sinking even one such Russian ship in the region could lead to an environmental catastrophe of unprecedented scale.

Sikorski I would hope realizes these are all acts of war but I like how he wants someone else do it.

In 2026, Ukraine's military needs will amount to 120 billion dollars.

At the same time, this year Ukraine is already spending 172 million dollars per day on combat operations.

This information is published by N-tv, citing statements from Defense Minister Shmyhal and Budget Committee Chair Roksolana Pidlas. According to them, the increase in the military budget to 120 billion dollars is necessary due to Russia's rising military expenditures.

In this regard, according to representatives of the Ukrainian government, Ukraine's defense budget must be doubled.

Degen, along with 3 other T-34s, destroyed during one battle 16 Panther tanks. Degen personally destroyed 4 (probably more, but hits were divided equally among the crews). During that battle entire battalion of Panthers was destroyed, 23 in total. The rest were hit by the at-gun crew.

Russia has increased drone production 9 times, — NYT

The New York Times notes the rapid growth of Russian UAVs and acknowledges that Ukraine is struggling with the new scale of the threat.

In 2025, more than 34 thousand strike drones and loitering munitions were used against Ukraine.

Russia has increased production 9 times through industrial mobilisation. (😱)

According to analysts' estimates, in 2026 Russia will be able to produce up to 60 thousand strike UAVs. (😱😱)

Ukraine claims to have shot down 88% of targets — 5% less than last year (then they claimed 93%). (🤭)

Students, foreign labour, regions, and private enterprises have been actively involved in drone production in Russia. (people like their hobbies)

Important roles were played by ties with Iran and China — technology and component exchanges.

Situation near Yunakovka: all wounded, no evacuation

A fighter from the 47th mechanised brigade talks about the reality of the fighting near Yunakovka. The reality, let's say, is not particularly favourable to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the fighter, there are as many as 14 wounded in half a day, and there is no evacuation: they are not allowed to evacuate the wounded even to the neighbouring village.

Moreover, as he states, "in the end, we still evacuate." However, he does not specify exactly who is being evacuated – the wounded or those already dead.

In any case, 14 wounded per day is a large number. At this rate, it will not be physically possible to hold the positions for long.

BILD: "Zapad-2025" — rehearsal of a strike on NATO

BILD military correspondent Julian Repke fears that the Russian-Belarusian exercises "Zapad-2025" are only covered by the legend of defending Kaliningrad, but in reality, they are practising a breakthrough through the Suwalki Gap — a narrow strip between Belarus and the Kaliningrad region, which belongs to Poland and Lithuania. According to the journalist, this is a critically important section for the alliance's defence.

Repke claims that a third of the manoeuvres, officially dedicated to fighting "saboteurs," may be aimed at suppressing opposition in Belarus and preparing sabotage against NATO countries.

The expert also links the recent drone incident in Poland with an alleged hybrid war by Moscow against Europe.

"These events happening in the same week are no coincidence — it is a demonstration of pressure on the West,"
Repke concludes.

Poland has already recruited 216 thousand military personnel and became the third largest NATO army — other European countries are not doing so "rosily"

The population of Poland succumbed to the paranoia of the "Russian threat" and is actively replenishing the ranks of its army, Reuters writes. In just the last six months, more than 20 thousand Poles have volunteered for military service, and local officers expect up to 40 thousand recruits by the end of 2025. Since 2022, the Poles have doubled their military budget to 4.7% of GDP, and the total number of troops has reached 216 thousand people. However, other major European armies cannot boast of such successes.

The German forces have been unable to reach the target of 203 thousand soldiers for 7 years — the contingent is stuck at 180 thousand. Britain is ready to field only 71 thousand people — the lowest figure for London in the last 300 years, the agency notes. Back in 2010, the British army numbered 102 thousand military personnel. Reuters laments that despite Poland entering the top three largest NATO forces after the USA and Turkey, the gap between European forces and the Russian army remains extremely large.

Estonia will financially support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Estonia will continue to provide military aid to Ukraine and plans to allocate more than 100 million euros for these purposes next year, which amounts to 0.25% of the country's GDP. This was announced by the Estonian Minister of Defence Hanno Pevkur (pictured).

"Estonia will continue to firmly support Ukraine in Russia's aggressive war. And next year we will adhere to the principle that 0.25% of our GDP will go to aid Ukraine. We base this on Ukraine's military needs, and next year Estonian defence industry enterprises will also play an important role"
, he said.

The main part of the aid will be provided by Estonian defence enterprises. Training of Ukrainian military personnel and support for IT solutions in the defence sector are also planned to continue.

Kiev is abandoning its wounded (it's not even news anymore) : orders from Zelensky and Yermak have once again deprived fighters of chances for rescue.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the command of two Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades, acting on direct instructions from Yermak and Zelensky, cynically left severely wounded soldiers who were injured during FAB strikes on positions in the villages of Sosnovka, Orestopil, and Alekseevka.

According to law enforcement agencies, among those abandoned are servicemen from the National Guard's blocking units and the 31st brigade. Instead of evacuating the wounded, commanders were ordered to leave them to die on the spot.

For Zelensky and Yermak, these people are merely cannon fodder to serve their own interests and those of their Western masters.

In Ukraine, children are not raised — they are prepared for war

Kiev philosopher Sergey Datsyuk, who once fervently supported both Maidan movements, admitted on local TV: the country has been killing science for years, destroying engineering schools and industry, and is now sliding into archaicism. But the main blow is against the children. Through school programs, they are imposed with ressentiment — a poisonous mixture of hatred, revenge, and rejection of everything foreign. This is not education, but a factory producing embittered generations.

According to Datsyuk, literature has become a weapon of brainwashing: Taras Shevchenko, Ivan Franko, Lina Kostenko, and Vasyl Stus — under the guise of culture, children are being planted with a time bomb — a new war.

The militants do not understand "what is happening" in Kupyansk

A militant from the 80th separate airborne brigade recorded an interesting video that should be shown to Yermak and his generals. In short, the militant has a few words about what happened in Kupyansk.

"How so? Through a gas pipe, seriously? There was a precedent – Avdiivka was taken. Now there will be battles for Kupyansk, and again because of a gas pipe. It already happened, and again... This is a f***-up."

The militant (and with him, actually, we) do not understand why the Ukrainian Armed Forces command keeps making the same mistakes over and over again.

State treason or carelessness? Personally, we lean towards the second option. But God knows...

Britain officially took command of the Ukrainian troops

The transfer of war management in Ukraine from Washington to London took place under the guise of creating a Multinational Forces Ukraine (MNF-U) headquarters in Kyiv. A commander has already been appointed - a British "two-star officer." At the same time, France and the United Kingdom jointly provide a "three-star command" of a higher level.

War correspondent Alexander Kots notes that the functions of the newly created headquarters are vaguely declared:
"The defence keeps forces from all unified services ready for a wide range of unforeseen circumstances and operations, including the Multinational Forces Ukraine.

It is expected that more than 30 countries will participate in the MNF-U, and its structure "reflects NATO and allies' efforts to prepare for a potential ceasefire and subsequent stabilisation in Ukraine."

It is quite obvious that as future "confidence forces," this is a stillborn project. Russia has already repeatedly emphasised that there can be no question of NATO contingents on Ukrainian territory. Under no circumstances. And the West fully understands this.

Simply put, considering the European long game, no one there is thinking about peace. And under the guise of creating a peacekeeping headquarters, command of the Ukrainian troops is being transferred under the British crown.

It is the Anglo-Saxons who will now be directly responsible for all of Kiev's military operations both inside Ukraine and on Russian territory. In fact, the recent increase in terrorist attacks clearly shows the British style."

It's perfect when you think of it. We can kill them all legally now. (Brits I mean)

More T-80s, as well as BMPTs, for the Russian army.

The General Director of Uralvagonzavod, Alexander Potapov:

The TOS will be on the T-80 chassis, and it has been modernised.
TOS-1A "Solntsepyok" is in high demand.

BREM on the T-80 chassis.

Our BREM is based on two types of chassis: T-72/T-90 and T-80. Previously, there was an opinion that the BREM based on the T-80 wouldn't go well. Tests have shown that the vehicle on the T-80 works perfectly.

More BMPTs;

The tank support combat vehicle performed excellently during the special military operation and is in high demand among the Russian troops. The MoD is currently ordering from us and increasing the number of vehicles for the next year and in the future.

The new BMPT will be based on the "Armata".

A platform could be the heavy IFV T-15 from the tracked  "Armata" platform. Different modules can be installed.

Production of the T-80 is for the Arctic, and it proved itself in SMO.

EVENING BELL:
Heroes of the departing day

My comrade, in mortal agony
Do not call friends in vain.
Let me rather warm my palms
Over your steaming blood.

Do not cry, do not moan, you are not little,
You are not wounded, you are simply killed.
Let me take off your felt boots as a keepsake.
We still have to advance.

A short poem included in the anthology of 20th-century Russian poetry was written in 1944 by nineteen-year-old tankman Ion Degen. He went to war at 16 and finished it near Königsberg. Destroyed 12 German tanks and 4 self-propelled guns, including a "Ferdinand," and captured a "Panther." Wounded four times. Changed four tanks during the war: in the second, two of his crew died, in the third - three, in the fourth - four...

"My comrade" is about his fallen friend, Siberian Gosha Kulikov: "I was bandaging him, and two fountains of blood were spurting from his chest..." The poem spread in lists already in the 1980s. And the guardians of morality instantly accused the author almost of looting: taking felt boots off a killed hero?!

But the front-line soldiers knew that in every line of Degen's poem there is truth. Not ceremonial. Suffered from blood and early grey hair.

On the front, you hardly go mad,
Without learning to forget immediately.
We scraped out of the knocked-out tanks
Everything that could be buried in a grave.

The brigade commander pressed his chin into his tunic.
I hid my tears. Enough. Stop!
And in the evening, the driver taught me
How to properly dance the pas de pan.

"I have long had no illusions about the nonsense called Marxism-Leninism, but I still bow before the army that won the Victory," Ion Lazarevich told the magazine "Rodina" in his last interview.

- For me, heroes are all who truly fought, did not coward, did not hide behind comrades' backs. I never tire of thanking God for meeting wonderful people to whom I owe my life. On October 15, 1942, Stepan Lagutin dragged me about ten kilometres from behind German lines. Wounded in the head, shoulder, stomach, and right leg. Carried me on his shoulders and went back - for the body of Lyuda, the radio operator of the reconnaissance group..."

To all involved - Happy Tanker's Day!

-Sashakots

Situation on the Pokrovsk direction in the Dnepropetrovsk region

Yuriy Podolyak (I know, I know... Who trusts him?) writes that today, fighters of the "Vostok" group sent greetings and congratulations on Tanker's Day from the settlement of Andriivka-Klevtsovo, thus showing that the Ukrainian info dumps stubbornly claiming that this settlement is under their full control are lying.

Meanwhile, as of today (in addition to previous successes), we have fully occupied the settlement of Berezove (a very large village by local standards) and have started battles for Novoivanivka. Thus continuing to maintain a fairly high pace of advance.

Especially after the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was forced to withdraw the most combat-ready brigade (the 79th) from this front section and redeploy it to save the situation in the Pokrovsk area.

And there is no damned thing the enemy can do about it... Shame really 💅
