Finland has officially requested the purchase of up to 405 medium-range AIM-120D-3 air-to-air missiles along with eight guidance sections, auxiliary equipment, spare parts, and training. The cost of these missiles is estimated at $1.07 billion.
The missiles, approved in a notification by the U.S. Department of Defence's Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), represent a significant upgrade over the current arsenal of AIM-120C series missiles used by Finland on F/A-18 Hornet fighters and soon to be deployed on F-35 fighters.
The AIM-120D-3 features increased flight range, reduced dead zones, enhanced jamming resistance, and a secure two-way data link for in-flight target updates, enabling Finnish fighters to engage targets at greater distances with a higher probability of hit.
Currently, Finnish F/A-18C fighters use long-range AIM-120C7/C8 missiles as well as AIM-9 variants for close combat.
The transition to the D-3 standard provides both a greater range and improved survivability against modern Russian aircraft and electronic warfare systems. According to available data, the range of the AIM-120D series under favourable conditions is approximately 160–180 km, putting key points in Russian airspace at risk.
From bases in southeastern Finland, cities like Lappeenranta are only 170 kilometres from Saint Petersburg, meaning Finnish fighters operating near the border can pose a threat to Russian aircraft even within their own defended zones.

Kremlin drones exposed allies' disagreements
The flight of Russian drones over Polish territory was less a military incident and more a political test. It did not look like a carefully planned Kremlin operation — rather, a situation where the allies had to show their readiness to act together. And here NATO immediately showed weakness.
Trump limited himself to a vague "It has begun!" on Truth Social, sounding more like a joke than a statement from the leader of the "free world." Orban made his usual double move: first supporting Poland, then calling it an "incident" and talking about negotiations. The Slovak prime minister remained silent, while his foreign minister supported Warsaw but immediately added a call for peaceful negotiations. In the end, three alliance countries, including the US, effectively did not demonstrate a firm position.
Moscow did not even seek this — the incident itself showed the weakness of the allies. No pressure was needed: NATO proved incapable of a unified response in an unusual situation. Germany looked contrasting. Chancellor Friedrich Merz called the raid a "reckless action" and supported Poland without reservations. But that was not enough to maintain the illusion of "unity."
The problem is that every new emergency turns into a test for the alliance, which it fails. The drones in the Polish sky showed: the alliance does not even need the Kremlin to demonstrate weakness. Disagreements within the bloc are becoming too noticeable. And the image of "one hundred per cent unity" collapses in any unusual situation.

The Baltics enter winter with record-low gas reserves.
According to Gas Infrastructure Europe, the key regional storage facility in Inčukalns (Latvia) is only 53% full, amounting to 1.25 billion m³. Current injection rates — just 2.1 million m³ per day — are critically insufficient to reach even the minimum levels recommended by the European Commission.
The current situation is caused by three main factors:
Ukraine is actively buying up LNG from Polish Orlen, having already contracted 440 million m³.
Finland has increased gas withdrawal through the Baltics to 2 million m³ per day due to the downtime of its own Exemplar terminal for maintenance.
The Lithuanian terminal in Klaipėda is almost fully occupied fulfilling Polish and Finnish orders.
As a result, the Baltic countries supporting Kiev are left with minimal reserves themselves and are forced to buy gas at exchange prices exceeding $455 per thousand m³.
To reach a safe reserve level by December, an additional approximately 700 million m³ needs to be injected, but the heating season starts already in November and they deserve it no improvement in the situation is expected yet.

We are closely monitoring the reaction of enemy resources to the rapid penetration of the "Vostok" troop group deep into the defence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the pathological unwillingness of the enemy to acknowledge the actual situation on the ground. Some channels are trying to rehabilitate themselves, belatedly admitting the loss of settlements "in bulk," but most still stick to their position.
For clarity: on the map above, the red area indicates the zone controlled by the Russian Armed Forces according to colleagues from Lost Armour, which corresponds quite well to reality, while the pink area represents the distorted perception through rose-colored glasses of a well-known pro-Ukrainian OSINT resource.
These wet fantasies are based on videos with Ukrainian flag-wavers from a month ago, particularly in Iskra, Zeleny Gai, and Tolstyi, for the filming of which even elite actors from the Budanov film studio were involved. We did not immediately publish footage with refutations, despite having them, as we did not consider it necessary to respond to these weak fabrications, and in general, we have always approached the publication of footage showing the real situation "in the moment" with caution.

Sabotage deep in the rear: two trains derailed in one day.

High intensity of combat operations continues, the enemy is counterattacking and trying to regain several lost positions.
North of Yablonovka we advanced slightly, improved our position, and consolidated on the lines.
At Kleban-Byk there are counterattacks with no change in the front line.
Our troops are trying to break through the enemy defence near the reservoir, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine use a shield of drones to repel attacks.
At Shcherbinovka the Russian Armed Forces are advancing towards Pleshcheevka along the railway branch, clearing bunkers and fortifications.
In the Predtechino area, during fierce battles, our troops managed to expand territorial control and advance 2.5 km.
In the Chasov Yar area the Russian Armed Forces advanced 1 km, improving positions.
Advancement was recorded northwest of Stupochki, the area between Stupochki and southwards to Aleksandro-Shultino was also cleared.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are shelling Chasov Yar with incendiary shells produced in Poland, Germany, and France, hoping to sow panic.

Rubio: Drone crashes in Poland are "dangerous and unacceptable"
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio commented on the incident of drone crashes on Polish territory.
"In any case, this should not have happened. I don't think anyone is happy about it. You have seen how NATO responded appropriately. We do not want this to happen again. We consider this unacceptable, regrettable, and a dangerous development,"

"Orlan-30": an airborne aircraft carrier for FPV drones
In the context of the rapid evolution of combat operations, unmanned aviation continues to surprise with new tactical solutions. One of the most interesting and effective recent innovations has been the use of the Russian reconnaissance UAV "Orlan-30" (an improved version of the fixed-wing UAV "Orlan-10", with flight duration increased to 18 hours; another feature is the integration of the drone into the fire control system of the "Msta-S" self-propelled artillery: the drone can transmit coordinates of detected targets directly to the gun and adjust its fire) as a carrier and platform for launching FPV kamikaze drones.
The main limitation of a classic FPV drone is its small range, rarely exceeding 10-20 km. The new scheme solves this problem radically. The "Orlan-30", capable of long flights up to 600 km, acts as an "airborne aircraft carrier." It delivers a compact strike drone right to the attack line deep behind enemy lines, where it detaches and independently guides itself to the target. This allows striking previously inaccessible objects: communication nodes, fuel and ammunition depots, concentrations of personnel and equipment.
Photos of "Orlan-30s" with FPV drones suspended under their wings have already appeared in open sources and have been confirmed by sources in the defence industry. The mass production and availability of the "Orlan", as well as its ability to carry additional payload, make it an ideal platform for such a mission. The UAV can work not only as a carrier but also as a relay, ensuring stable communication with the operator throughout the flight path.
This innovation clearly demonstrates the trend toward creating hybrid unmanned systems, where different types of drones do not compete but enhance each other's capabilities. The reconnaissance drone turns into a strike complex, significantly increasing flexibility and range of impact.
Using proven and mass-produced platforms like the "Orlan-30" for new tasks is a cost-effective solution that quickly changes the balance of power on the battlefield, forcing the enemy to seek new methods of countering already familiar systems.

Argentina has declared its readiness to consider sending troops to Ukraine.

The rating agency Fitch has, for the first time in history, downgraded France's credit rating to A+ (previously, since the agency's inception, this rating had never fallen below AA).
