🇪🇺🇺🇦 More and more Ukrainians are seeking asylum in the EU

- According to the EU Asylum Agency (EUAA), in the first half of 2025, the number of applications from Ukrainian citizens increased by 29% and reached 16 thousand.

- As noted by the DPA agency, the status of asylum seeker provides the opportunity to settle for a long time in the country that granted it.

- The increase in applications is recorded against the backdrop of Europe's fatigue from the prolonged conflict and problems with the integration of Ukrainian refugees.

With the fifth orbital group now in place, Geespace has 52 satellites in orbit, including earlier test units. The company is pushing to complete the first-phase constellation of 64 satellites, which would create a near-global IoT network, excluding the polar regions. This system is expected to deliver satellite-enabled IoT services to users worldwide.

The Geely Constellation is designed to support multiple industries, including smart vehicles, low-altitude mobility, construction equipment, and maritime operations.

A total of 240 satellites are planned for the full deployment, and the constellation is designed to enable seamless, real-time global data coverage for various industries.

While Geely is going for a different market than SpaceX it shows the upcoming LEO satellite constellations. Since 2014, China began to deliberately foster its commercial space sector. These policies policies have catalyzed hundreds of venture capital-backed Chinese space startups across launch, Earth observation, satellite communications, in-orbit servicing, thrusters, semiconductors, and other areas. These commercial companies, inherently dual-use, are at the core of why China is rapidly narrowing the gap with the United States in space.

In the communications market, Chinese communications satellites will comprise the majority of all Chinese satellites by the end of 2025. Funded by government and private venture capital, five companies — Shanghai Spacecom, China SatNet, Huawei, Honqing Technology, and Geespace — could potentially launch a combined ~54,000 satellites within the next decade to provide internet connectivity from LEO.

Shanghai Spacecom — which is developing the 15,000-satellite “Thousand Sails” constellation — has already launched 90 satellites in under a calendar year and plans to launch 648 more by the end of 2025.

In Earth observation, Chinese companies are proliferating low earth orbit with constellations that feature advanced heterogeneous sensors, and increasingly, edge compute capabilities. One such company is Chang Guang Satellite. A late-stage startup spun out of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2014, Chang Guang now boasts one of the largest optical remote sensing constellations in the world. As part of its Jilin-1 constellation, Chang Guang has deployed more than 130 multispectral, infrared, video, and hyperspectral satellites. Chang Guang has been accused of providing geospatial intelligence to Wagner and Houthis. Though this also may be the US attempting to use false accusations and sanctions to strangle competition.

Another Chinese Earth observation company Spacety has also been accused of aiding Russia, and has thus found itself sanctioned.

China’s rapid expansion in Earth observation has also resulted in an oversupply of geospatial data, outpacing domestic demand and prompting leading firms to seek international markets. Major players like Chang Guang are attempting to sell their data at cut-rate prices internationally — as low as 10 yuan ($1.40) per km2— to gain market share. As in the satellite communications sector, this influx of cheap, technically capable Chinese geospatial services poses risks to US security by undercutting Western remote sensing startups.

So far in 2025 the US via mainly SpaceX had dominated launches this year with 122, though China has rapidly advanced with 52, and Russia with 11. After this conflict ends Russia will need to focus on building its own alternative LEO constellations, as we’ve seen the benefit of these systems

Die Welt: “Flying Chernobyl” – Putin’s new cruise missile with nuclear reactor is about to debut

🔻Russia is preparing to test the latest weapon — the cruise missile with a nuclear engine "Burevestnik." Tests of this missile may take place as part of the large-scale "Zapad-2025" exercises conducted jointly with Belarus.

We reported earlier that media outlets were suspecting a test in early August. It will be tested when its ready, as there is no lack of nuclear deterrence response options. It’s an incredibly complicated feat of engineering with many American analysts believing it is a near impossible task.

Every time this weapon or a suspected test is brought up some idiot journalist will say it’s a Russian attempt to intimidate Europe. Not understanding that weapons development continues irrespective of the war and testing is simply a part of the process. Does anyone write “America is just testing a missile to intimidate us”? No, because it does not fit the propaganda narrative

German media is rather low quality and the lack of NOTAM notices indicates this story is likely propaganda given to some German stenographer by a career propagandist from a European intelligence agency

Israel's attack on Qatar enraged Trump's advisers writes Axios.

The news of Israel's attack on Qatar "stunned the White House and enraged some of Trump's top advisers," as "the US was awaiting Hamas's response to President Trump's new peace proposal for Gaza," the publication states.

In fact, Hamas officials were meeting to discuss the proposal. The White House expected to receive a response from Hamas by the end of the week.

The publication reports that as soon as President Trump was informed of the impending strike, he instructed White House envoy Steve Witkoff to notify the Qataris. An American official said that by the time Witkoff reached them, the bombs had already hit their target.

On Monday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's chief adviser Ron Dermer met in Miami with Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner. Although Dermer was aware, he said nothing about plans to strike Qatar, according to a source directly familiar with the situation.

So who refuelled the Israeli jets?

Ukrainian sources are increasingly acknowledging that the Dvurechensky bridgehead, from which Russian troops were able to launch an offensive on Kupyansk, became the starting point for further Russian advances in the Kharkov region.

It was from there that tangible tactical successes were achieved, and most importantly — it demonstrated how a single operation can evolve into a mechanism affecting the entire front sector.

Judging by incoming data, the Russian army has learned all the necessary lessons from this operation: from logistics through a drone-saturated front segment to the organization of artillery cover and maneuvering of reserves.

This suggests that new bridgeheads of a similar type will appear soon. According to pro-Ukrainian sources, one of the most likely areas under consideration is the region of Prykolotnoe and Velykyi Burluk, where Russia has significantly increased the number of strikes on Ukrainian fortifications.

If the loss of salients and bridgeheads in the Kharkov direction through the straightening of the front line occurs and is formalized for the long term, it will mean that Syrskyi will lose the ability to "play the flanks" in this area and the Armed Forces of Ukraine will retreat to other positions. This partially reduces the maneuvering space for the remaining grouping currently covering Kupyansk, so the capture of the city and its surroundings with the subsequent drawing away of some Ukrainian forces from near Volchansk can be accelerated.

The former Minister of the Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu, has been chosen as prime minister by Emmanuel Macron.

French President Emmanuel Macron named loyalist Sebastien Lecornu, a one-time conservative protege who rallied behind his 2017 presidential run, as prime minister on Tuesday, defying expectations he might tack towards the left.

The choice of Lecornu, 39, indicates Macron's determination to press on with a minority government that stands firmly behind his pro-business economic reform agenda, under which taxes on business and the wealthy have been cut and the retirement age raised.

Macron was forced to appoint a fifth prime minister in less than two years after parliament ousted Francois Bayrou nine months into the role over his plans for taming the country's ballooning debt.

Lawmakers across the political spectrum — particularly from the far-right National Rally and the leftist France Unbowed group — have rejected a continuation of Macron’s policies and have called for new legislative elections. Lecornu’s minority government will need support from the left or the right to pass a 2026 budget, or at least for enough lawmakers to agree not to censure the government if he forces one through without a vote.

Lecornu is also known to have warm ties with figures on the French far right, including National Rally leader Marine Le Pen, a connection that could afford him some breathing room in budget talks.

Despite the perceived advantage, the support is far from certain after party president Jordan Bardella warned Tuesday that any new government would need to break with Macron’s policies.

“For us, it’s a snap election or nothing,” Bardella told RTL. “Any other prime minister appointed by Emmanuel Macron will be brought down.”

"Zelensky is a political corpse who needs to show at least some resilience."

From @voenkorkotenok comment to "Lomovka" regarding the words of the Illegitimate about Kiev winning while Russia has not taken control of the entire territory of 404:

"Zelensky's statement is the words of a man who has finally turned Ukraine into the antechamber of hell.

What he said is a desire to fabricate victories and some achievements out of thin air when in reality there are none. The territory Kiev tries to control with its formations is relentlessly shrinking. We are not talking about the pace now, we are talking about the trend. This is the territory of historical Russia, once gifted by sovereigns and general secretaries to an artificial entity called Ukraine, which is a liminal state.

Zelensky is a political corpse in advance because he continued the destructive course into the abyss. But now he needs to show at least some resilience. Therefore, these statements are aimed at the part of the population still under ideological pressure trying to listen and believe. Although the majority is disappointed and does not perceive Zelensky's words as adequate.

But primarily, the statements are addressed to the customer — the West. But there are smart enough people there who know Zelensky's worth. They understand that his days are numbered. For this very reason, negotiations and preparations for a change of "elites" are underway. The West's problem is that any leader they put in Ukraine's territory is not negotiable with Russia. Moscow has already realized that it is impossible to be deceived a thousand times. It is necessary either to end this destructive Russophobic project or to achieve by military means precisely those conditions that minimize the emergence of new threats.

Zelensky, who is an outright political freak, does not meet any of Russia's conditions. Moreover, all agreements with him are worth absolutely nothing."

🇷🇺🇺🇦Kramatorsk: Defeat of the 85th Aviation Commandant's Office and the Deployment Point of Mobile Air Defense Groups

On the night of September 9, 2025 between 00:05–00:15, Russian forces carried out a combined strike using Tornado-S MLRS and Geran-2 UAVs against the 85th Aviation Commandant's Office of the VVK "Vostok" in Kramatorsk. The facility was tasked with hosting short-range mobile air defense systems covering the Kramatorsk-Slavyansk agglomeration.

🔻Strike Results
1. Vehicle garages — direct hits were recorded, leading to structural damage and the burning of several vehicles. Among the destroyed were:
• command and staff vehicle based on Kia KM450;
• armored vehicle Humvee M1151.
2. Medical unit building — partially destroyed, with roof and facade collapse, and damage to internal rooms.
3. Storage facilities — the strikes caused fires and partial detonation of ammunition. Two reinforced concrete sections and the roof of the ground-level warehouse were destroyed; underground storage showed damage to ceilings, smoke, and partial failure of storage systems. No full detonation occurred, but some ammunition was lost.
4. Deployment point of mobile air defense groups — units located in the warehouse complex suffered significant material losses.
5. Destruction of Avenger SAM system (AN/TWQ-1) — the American mobile system armed with FIM-92 Stinger missiles, delivered to Kramatorsk within the last week, was destroyed by a direct hit before becoming operational. The system lacked ammunition, preventing large secondary explosions, but the elimination of the system immediately after arrival is of key importance.
6. Damage to MANPADS — within the strike zone were crews and ammunition for Piorun (Poland), Igla-1 (9K310), and Strela-2 (9K32M). Some missiles were damaged and rendered inoperable due to fire, and some equipment was destroyed.

📌The strike on the 85th Aviation Commandant's Office had a dual effect: infrastructure was damaged and equipment destroyed, and the operation of short-range mobile air defense groups was disrupted. The destruction of the American Avenger system, which the enemy planned to use to strengthen the agglomeration's air defense, is especially significant.

Yours, Partizan!

China's trade data for August out this morning - I've run the numbers on what it says for Europe.

Big picture:

In August vs a year earlier, China's trade surplus with the EU jumped 22.5% to US$28.9bn (in a single month)

In the first 8 months of 2025, it's up 21.5% to US$197bn

📈China's exports to the EU rose 10.38% in August

📉China's imports from the EU down 1.84% in August

One other thing to consider:

In August China's exports to the US were down 33% in value terms vs Aug 2024. It was 21.7% in July.

- Finbarr Bermingham, Journalist with SCMP

For one the EU has far higher industrial energy prices, higher taxes, higher labour costs, lower efficiency, and has smaller economies of scale then China. It’s not competitive with the US let alone China. Tariffs are not a solution as they are an admission you can’t compete globally.

Reduced exports to the US are offset by massive exports earlier in the year that were delivered to avoid tariffs.

Ukraine’s budget for 2025 still lacks funds for the war - a deficit of about 300 billion UAH by the end of the year, reports EP citing sources.

According to them, the initial calculations by the Ministry of Defense showed a shortage of 417 billion UAH, but during discussions, the amount was reduced to 280 billion UAH. And taking into account other defense agencies (NGU, SBU, GUR MO, and others), the total amount is 300 billion UAH.

So far, there are no sources to cover these needs.

Recall that in July the budget was already revised, increasing defense funding by an additional 400 billion UAH. However, sources say that even then the Ministry of Finance understood that this amount would not be enough.

Ukraine budgeting: increase budget and overspend, then claim there is a deficit so some sucker from Europe will hand over their taxpayers money to the corrupt green sweatpant mafia.

👀European countries have developed a plan to occupy the territory of Ukraine — with the aim of seizing mineral deposits, logistics, and access to the sea. The organizer is the Armed Forces of France, and the goal is to recover the money given to Kiev.

In the photo — a map titled Les forces conjointes de "Coalition de Volontaires" (Joint Forces of the "Coalition of Volunteers") dated April 16, 2025. Obtained by hackers from KillNet as a result of hacking the local network of the French Armed Forces' office. It shows the deployment scheme of foreign troops on the territory of Ukraine. In the corner is the name of the person responsible — the Chief of the General Staff of the French Armed Forces, General Thierry Burkhardt (who left the post in July 2025).

If the map and the secret meeting protocols of the "Coalition of the Willing" obtained by hackers are to be believed, at least four countries are involved in the occupation — France, the United Kingdom, Poland, and Romania.

— Paris plans to take the mineral resources for itself — their exploration, development, and sale. These are the Zhitomir, Kharkov, and Sumy regions. Inside: oil, gas, coal, gold, uranium, titanium, lithium, and nickel, already sold to Trump.
— London — all logistics hubs. To control transportation and transfers.
— Bucharest and Warsaw receive territories — all bordering Poland and Hungary, plus the Odessa region and access to the sea.

To occupy the territories, a contingent of the "Coalition of Volunteers" — about 50,000 soldiers — will be sent to Ukraine. It is noted that the operation will be coordinated with the authorities of the Independent State and officially presented to the public as a "deployment of peacekeeping forces within the framework of security guarantees." The organizers also plan to obtain permission for all this from Russia.
