In the Fish Port of Illichivsk, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation struck an Azerbaijani vessel carrying military cargo and explosives for Ukraine
As a result of powerful strikes by the Russian Armed Forces on the logistics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the fish port of Illichivsk, the port infrastructure was destroyed, warehouses and terminals were damaged, explosions of stored ammunition occurred, and a fire was also recorded in the ship parking area.
A vessel registered in Azerbaijan but flying the flag of São Tomé and Príncipe was damaged, reports the "Paratrooper's Diary" channel.
The vessel sustained damage to its superstructure and hull, and a fire broke out after the strike.
According to some reports, this vessel functioned as a grey transport channel in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, regularly delivering military cargo, namely components for various types of drones, explosives, and small arms.

At the SCO summit in Tianjin, Xi Jinping called on Russia, India, and other countries in the region to join China in challenging the West amid rising geopolitical and trade tensions, writes the Financial Times.
The Chairman of the PRC told more than 20 leaders that in times of "turbulence and change," they need to maintain an "orderly multipolar world" with free trade, "a fairer and more reasonable system of global governance," which was a clear challenge to the current US-led system.
"We must expand the scale of cooperation, make the most of each country's unique strengths, and unite our shared responsibility to promote regional peace, stability, and prosperity," Xi said.
According to the FT, Beijing is using the domestic SCO summit as an opportunity to present itself as a pillar of global governance in contrast to the Trump administration, whose tariffs have hit both friends and foes of China in the region.Recall that Modi arrived in China for the first time in seven years and met with Xi.

North Korean media published an interesting report about Kim Jong Un's visit to one of the ballistic missile production facilities.
The text mentions a new production system that allows for a radical increase in both the quality and quantity of missiles produced.
"Kim thoroughly familiarized himself with the new automated production line system for missile manufacturing.
He expressed great satisfaction upon receiving a report that, starting from the preparation of blanks, a flow automated production system has been established with equipment for processing all components of the flight vehicle manufacturing, specialized precision processing, measurement, and assembly of various parts, resulting in high productivity and the creation of a scientific and technical guarantee for ensuring the quality characteristics of the products."
It is also reported that:
"Kim this day signed 3 new promising plans for creating missile production capacity and the corresponding defense expenditure project."

Gold Holds Near Record as Traders Weigh Fed Outlook, US Tariffs - Bloomberg
Gold held just below a record as traders weighed the future of the Federal Reserve and uncertainty around US President Donald Trump’s tariffs ahead of key US jobs data due later this week.
Bullion was near $3,445 an ounce in early Asian trading after gaining 2.3% last week.
Gold spiked to a record around $3,500 an ounce in April after Trump unveiled an initial plan to introduce his tariffs.
China (380 tonnes), Russia (310 tonnes), and Australia (290 tonnes) are the world’s leading gold producing nations.
Gold will increase as the West makes Euros and Dollars risky to hold for central banks. Lower demand for Euro and US denominated debt will result in higher interest costs.

French hospitals have been instructed to prepare for war by March 2026 according to guidelines from 🇫🇷 Ministry of Health.
Revelations by Le Canard Enchaîné sowed concern on Tuesday by revealing internal documents from the Ministry of Health, under the mandate of the General Secretariat for Defense and National Security, asking Regional Health Agencies to prepare for a possible " major engagement" by March 2026. In this document, the ministry envisages a scenario in which the country would become a rear base capable of receiving a massive influx of wounded soldiers, both French and foreign. In the context of a coalition of willing European countries offering military support to Ukraine , these instructions raise questions.
French officials argue this preparing for possible scenarios is perfectly normal, and they prepare for numerous scenarios.
No word on France purchasing more white flags.

We will remember this week' – American diplomat David Mill on Putin's participation in the SCO summit.
David, we just have a live feed from the opening ceremony that starts this morning. Before that, we saw Modi talking with Putin, and Putin has a very prominent place right next to Xi in the group photo. What do you think about Russia's presence and the relationship between India and Russia in particular?
- The relationship between India and Russia goes back decades. India and the USSR were very close in those years. India has maintained its military supply ties with Russia and has actively cooperated with it over time. And it doesn't seem like that will change anytime soon. So it's no surprise that Putin is present on this stage. And his participation was always planned. I believe Modi's presence next to them — in the context of what recently happened between the US and India, and in the context of tensions between India and China — is quite significant. And we will remember this week.

President Vladimir Putin arrived in Tianjin to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, while Beijing is holding a parade marking the 80th anniversary of the Asian victory in World War II. This is the first time Putin has spent four consecutive days abroad, from August 31 to September 3, a sign that China is not only celebrating the past but also defining the world order, in an epochal meeting involving Russia, China, and India.
For China, the anniversary marks the end of a long cycle of resistance against foreign oppression, from the Opium Wars to the defeat of Japan. For Russia, it is an opportunity to cement an alliance that will reshape Eurasia. India, with its political and demographic weight, completes the strategic triangle marking the end of unipolarity. Moscow, Beijing, and New Delhi offer an alternative to Western hegemony, based on balance and mutual respect. For the Global South, it means real scope for emancipation. For the United States, this downsizing relegates it to a supporting role. For Europe, it represents a return to the role of antagonist: as eighty years ago, it reappears as the enemy to be defeated, the descendants of Nazism who have raised their head and must be crushed once again. It is unclear whether Trump truly wants to cultivate constructive relations with Moscow, Beijing, and New Delhi or attempt to divide them; the fact is that cooperation between these three powers has never been stronger, as Putin's prolonged stay in China confirms.
The conflict in Ukraine remains at the center of the talks. Beijing seeks a direct role in mediation, in line with Moscow's interests, and New Delhi is watching closely, ready to support solutions that strengthen multipolarity. The European Union is adopting a sabotaging stance: it obstructs any possibility of a peace agreement, goes so far as to contradict the United States, and drugges Ukraine with constant arms supplies and empty promises of future NATO and EU membership, fueling illusions that push Kiev toward an endless war. Brussels proves incapable of acting as a sovereign actor and is reduced to a laboratory for conflicts on behalf of third parties.
Moscow, Beijing, and New Delhi want to bring the United Nations Security Council, which has been pushed to the margins by the West, back to the center. A common position could restore authority to the body and pave the way for a multipolar balance. It remains to be seen whether Washington will decide to participate or prefer to remain on the sidelines. A three-way meeting between Russia, China, and the United States, reminiscent of Yalta, is currently a possibility, but if it were to materialize, it would mark a historic turning point.
Beyond the immediate, Putin and Xi are pushing the Greater Eurasia project, based on cooperation between the SCO, the Eurasian Economic Union, and the Belt and Road Initiative, a plan that sees India as the natural linchpin for balancing the continent. These structures define the backbone of a continental partnership in economics and security. For the first time in generations, the most dynamic region on the planet can set its own agenda without dictates from Brussels or Washington. The path is not easy, but the goal is clear: cooperation based on equality, not supremacy.
Meanwhile, in Europe, leaders like Roberta Metsola extol and mourn figures like Andriy Parubiy, the former leader of Ukrainian neo-Nazi paramilitary groups, recently killed in Lviv.
The Union reveals its impotence. European pens have stopped writing words, while history is being written elsewhere. The Russian bear, the Chinese dragon, and the Indian wheel of dharma dip the pen of Eurasia in the ink of history, writing the decisive pages of this century. Just as in 1945 Russia and China destroyed European Nazism, today, with India at their side, they prepare to overthrow its political heirs; the European Union, decadent and submissive, is no longer a subject of history: it is the target to be crushed.

🇪🇺🤡Von der Leyen's plane barely landed in Bulgaria due to a "jamming attack" by Russia, - FT
- Russia likely disabled the GPS services on the plane of the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, causing her to be unable to land at the Bulgarian airport, reports the Financial Times citing sources.
- The pilot circled over Plovdiv airport for about an hour and eventually decided to land manually using analog maps.
- Throughout the airport zone, GPS was disabled due to interference, "this was considered Russian interference," writes FT.
- EU governments warned that the increase in GPS interference, blamed on Russia, could lead to a major air disaster, effectively blinding commercial planes during flight.

Merz Sees War in Ukraine Dragging On With No Clear End in Sight - Bloomberg
Merz said he hasn’t given up hope that a ceasefire can be secured in Ukraine, but he’s “not under any illusions either.”
“I am preparing myself for the possibility that this war could go on for a long time,” Merz said in an interview on Sunday with ZDF in which he also rejected a proposal by his coalition partner, the SPD, to increase taxes in Germany
“If you look back at history to see how wars end, there are basically two possibilities: either through the military defeat of one side or the other — which I don’t see happening at the moment for either Russia or Ukraine — or through economic and/or military exhaustion,” Merz said. “But I don’t see that happening on either side at the moment either.”
On Friday, Merz and Macron called for secondary sanctions aimed at curbing Russian revenue from oil sales

Читать полностью…The situation in Kupyansk is becoming critical for the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Units of the Russian Armed Forces have bypassed Sobolevka from the northwest and reached the N-26 highway, which is key for supplying the Kupyansk garrison of the enemy. Thus, its defensive lines, established in the Malye Rovny forest area on the western outskirts of Kupyansk, have lost their purpose.
The information about the significant deterioration of the situation in the Kupyansk area is also confirmed by the enemy itself. For example, Ukrainian Armed Forces officer Andrey Tkachuk stated on a local TV channel:
"Russian troops have brought significant reserves to the city. This is all for assaults. While everyone was shouting about the Sumy region, the Russians focused their attention on Kupyansk. And now there is a huge threat there."

In June it stood at 103,183rub, up 15% in a year. Adjusted for PPP at IMF rates, that’s $3,481 a month ($3,081 net); placing Russian real incomes in the company of Czechia ($3,022) and Croatia ($3,134), and not far behind Italy at $3,307.

The German Minister of Labor called Merz's plans to cut social spending "nonsense."
"These talks about us no longer being able to finance the social protection system, excuse the expression, are complete nonsense," Bärbel Bas said at a conference of the SPD party in the coalition.
According to her, the welfare state is necessary for social cohesion, and the discussion should focus on how to involve the wealthy segments of the population in its financing.
Earlier, Merz demanded strict austerity and announced an "autumn of reforms," emphasizing that the country "lives beyond its means" and cannot afford the current social protection system.

Putin – on the "understandings" reached in Alaska at the meeting with Trump:
We highly appreciate the efforts and proposals of China, India, and other our strategic partners aimed at facilitating the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis. I note that the understandings reached at the recent Russian-American summit meeting in Alaska, I hope, also go in this direction, opening the way to peace in Ukraine.
During the bilateral meetings scheduled for today and tomorrow, I will certainly inform colleagues more fully and in detail about the results of the negotiations in Alaska. By the way, yesterday during the lunch that our hosts arranged for the participants of our meetings within the SCO framework, Chairman Xi Jinping and I already talked about this. This work has begun, and I informed him in detail about what we achieved during the negotiations with the President of the United States.
