🇷🇺🇺🇦Massive strike on military and industrial infrastructure facilities of Ukraine
On the night of August 30, 2025, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out a large-scale combined strike on key military and industrial infrastructure facilities of Ukraine. The operation involved a wide range of weapons: OTRK "Iskander-M", KR "Iskander-K", naval cruise missiles "Kalibr", cruise missiles Kh-101, as well as strike drones of the "Geran-2" type.
🔻Main directions of the strike
• Dnepropetrovsk — among several hit targets, a strike on a particularly interesting military facility was confirmed.
• Pavlograd — strikes were carried out on industrial enterprises, including the Pavlograd Chemical Plant (the central hub for the production and storage of solid fuel for missiles) and the Pavlograd Mechanical Plant, which performed functions of equipment repair and component production.
🔻Strikes also hit facilities in the Zhitomir, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopol, Volyn regions, as well as in the vicinity of Kiev and Zaporozhye.
🔻Confirmed destruction of temporary deployment points of the Armed Forces of Ukraine units in the areas of Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, and Novodonetskoe, which further weakens the enemy's combat capability at the front line.
🔻The comprehensive use of various types of precision weapons allowed:
• simultaneous strikes on facilities of the military-industrial complex, energy, and logistics;
• disabling enterprises servicing the Ukrainian military-industrial complex;
• inflicting damage on reserve forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stationed in frontline areas.

Berliner Zeitung: East German companies uninterested in helping Merz militarize Germany
Merz has faced refusal from major companies in East Germany to support the Bundeswehr's expansion projects. The government intends to increase the armed forces' personnel from 182K to 260K soldiers and recruit approximately 200K reservists, with companies expected to provide employees for the reserves.
Companies warn against the risks of excessive burden on companies, particularly small businesses, which are predominant in the region. The note reservist participation can bring valuable skills, but not they do not make up for lost productivity.
The signals are cautious: Companies point to a shortage of skilled workers, costs, and a lack of structures. Individual voices express willingness – but only under clear conditions. Whether Merz can actually get the businesses in the new federal states on board remains questionable. As things stand, the east is still a long way from joining forces with the Bundeswehr

In January 2025, a US F-35 pilot spent 50 minutes on an conference call with Lockheed Martin engineers trying to solve a problem with his fighter jet before he ejected and the plane plunged to the ground in Alaska.
F-35 has problem:
-1st course of action: run checklist, doesn't work
-2nd course: call Lockmart support
-LMT support takes 50 minutes to develop a plan
-Attempts plan twice, fails
-2nd attempt breaks the plane even further. Now the plane can't fly
-Pilot ejects, F-35 crashes
“Hello this is Ramesh from Lockheed Martin, how may I help you today sir. Have you tried turning it off and on again?”

Die Weltwoche journalist Roger Köppel on Zelensky
What is preventing a meeting between Putin and Zelensky? In one word: Zelensky. He refuses to meet with Putin. Why? I believe European politicians are pressuring Zelensky whom I also consider an unpleasant person – he is by no means a blessing for his country and certainly not a hero. I view all this quite critically, but I am ready to admit that Zelensky is in a difficult situation. Ukraine has been and remains a tool used to weaken Russia. This is not news. But we must ask ourselves: how should we behave going forward? Do we continue to ‘feed the monkey sugar’ and pour alcohol for alcoholics who are completely convinced of their righteousness? Or should we function as a ‘sober cell’ as soon as possible, as a place where passions cool down? I, without a doubt, advocate for the latter. But in Germany, for this, you are already branded as a ‘Putin sympathizer.’ It is surprising at what a primitive level discussions are conducted today

🇭🇺🇺🇦🇪🇺Hungary may veto EU plans to conduct military exercises in Ukraine and train Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers by Europeans after a ceasefire, - Politico.
- "I welcome the fact that today there is broad support for expanding the mandate to provide training and advisory services on Ukrainian territory after any ceasefire," said the bloc's chief diplomat Kaja Kallas after an informal meeting of EU defense ministers in Copenhagen.
- However, such a decision requires unanimous approval from all 27 EU capitals, which gives Hungary, currently in conflict with Kyiv, the right to veto, Politico notes.
- As part of the mission to assist Kirv, 23 EU countries, as well as Norway and Canada, have already trained about 80,000 Ukrainian military personnel.

Donald Trump suggested deploying Chinese troops as peacekeepers in postwar Ukraine, lending support to a proposal first put forward by Russia’s Vladimir Putin, according to four people briefed on discussions.
Trump proposed inviting China to supply peacekeepers to monitor a neutral zone along Ukraine’s 1,300km front line as part of a peace settlement with Russia in a meeting with European leaders and Ukraine’s president at the White House last week, according to the people.
“This is false,” said a senior Trump administration official, adding there had been “no discussion of Chinese peacekeepers”.
The idea is opposed by European capitals and has previously been rejected by Zelensky because of Beijing’s critical support for Russia’s war effort.
So that would also conversely bar any countries who supported Ukraine. China has literally sold to both Russia and Ukraine, but is seen by EU/Ukraine as not viable? So who does that leave?
@Slavyangrad
🇷🇺🇺🇸"Russia is working to prevent opponents of the settlement in Ukraine from disrupting the understanding reached (by Putin and Trump) in Alaska," — Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov
- Moscow expects Washington to continue efforts within the framework of the agreements in Alaska;
- Europe, however, is openly sabotaging the agreements of the Alaska summit;
- Russia hopes that contact with the US on mutual irritants may take place in the coming weeks.

Russian energy company Novatek partially resumed gas condensate processing at its complex in the Baltic port of Ust-Luga, two market sources said on Friday, after suspending the operations last weekend due to a fire after a drone attack.
One of the three units at the complex was relaunched at full capacity on August 26, the sources said.
The Ust-Luga complex has three processing units with a capacity of 3 million metric tons a year each and refines stable gas condensate into light and heavy naphtha, jet fuel, ship fuel component (fuel oil) and gasoil.
A drone attack caused a fire at the complex early on August 24 leading all operations, including fuel export loadings, to be fully shut on Sunday.

Bundestag deputy Kizevetter on the fact that Germans cannot be forced into the army by threats of "otherwise Putin will attack":
[How do you plan to implement this? We see that Generation Z and those who come after it have a completely different view of life. Yes, they understand that Russia poses a threat, but for them the main thing is the balance between work and personal life, a three-day workweek, 30 working hours, and free time. But in the army, which must be combat-ready, this is impossible. A soldier cannot say, "Well, I've been in the trench or on a mission for three days, I'll go take a rest."]
Therefore, we talk about duties. Volunteer initiatives are good when it comes to peacetime. But the younger generation must be prepared, and we, the older ones, must also contribute. After all, conscription was effectively abolished for 14 years. We destroyed all the structures that now have to be painstakingly restored.
The younger generation will be able to live in peace, freedom, and tranquility only if it is ready to contribute to the security of our country. And this cannot be achieved by balancing work and personal life alone. The balance between work and personal life is good when you are free and live in peace. But these values still need to be defended.
Russia will not wait until 2029. We expect escalation within the next two years. Delaying on our part would be a sign of complacency.
