The Finnish government has decided to raise the maximum age for reservists to 65 years, the Ministry of Defense reported.
Thus, the rules for reservists will apply to conscripted citizens born in 1966 and later.
🇱🇹It is quite obvious that NATO countries in the Baltic region are preparing for war. Recently, the Prime Minister of Lithuania announced that the country will not be able to avoid the introduction of universal conscription.

Two Russian missiles struck the Turkish drone maker Baykar's drone factory in Kiev early Thursday, causing severe damage to production facilities in the fourth attack on the plant in six months, according to a Ukrainian city council member.
Igor Zinkevich, a member of the Lvov City Council, announced that the Baykar facility built in Ukraine was hit during Russia's latest strikes on the country in a social media statement on Telegram.
"Last night, the well-known Bayraktar factory in Kiev was struck. Two hits were recorded—production facilities suffered serious damage," Zinkevich said.
"Despite the war and previous attacks, the company continued to invest tens of millions of its own funds, train staff, and prepare production," he noted.
"Most of the facilities were almost ready, and the main staff had completed training. And this is already the fourth strike on the factory in the last six months," he added.

Satellite images of the Morozovsk airbase in the Rostov region from August 27, showing 18 protective hangars built so far.
The hangars house Su-34 fighter-bombers and Su-24MR reconnaissance aircraft. In the second image, only one Su-34 is visible in the open area, with construction of additional hangars ongoing.
Currently, aircraft leave the hangars only before takeoff, and their maintenance is also carried out inside the hangars.
Similar work on building protective hangars for aviation equipment is underway or has been completed at the Khalino, Saki, Akhtubinsk, Krymsk, Millerovo, and Belbek airfields.
The Morozovsk airbase itself has been repeatedly subjected to attacks and attempted attacks by Ukrainian kamikaze drones: in December 2023 (one Su-34 was damaged), in April, June, July, and August 2024. As a result of the latest attack, one Su-34 fighter-bomber was lost.

‘Moscow is increasingly shelling Ukraine with a record number of rockets and drones. Yesterday's attack was the second largest. 629 rockets and drones’ – in the absence of their own, The Telegraph counts others' rockets.
I think Ukraine inflates numbers during attacks. Combining drone and missiles together also makes very little sense especially when Russia uses far more fake Gerans to mess with Ukraine’s ability to respond.

🇫🇮🤡The Finnish Air Force plans to remove the swastika from their flags, local media report citing the new commander of the Karelian Air Regiment, Böhm.
🗣According to the press, the reason for these changes is external pressure, as well as awkward situations that arise, for example, when cooperating with Americans.
“We could still use this flag, but sometimes awkward situations arise with foreign guests. It might be wise to adapt to modern realities,” Böhm said.
🇩🇪🇺🇦Germany has practically completed the creation of a military railway for the transfer of heavy equipment and troops to the western regions of Ukraine, - Der Tagesspiegel.
- The railway route, created at the initiative of the German authorities, runs from the Baltic ports through Poland and a logistics center near Krakow, then heads to Western Ukraine. Its construction was a response to Kiev's requests to improve the efficiency of weapons delivery.
- According to the publication, regular deliveries are already being made along the new corridor, with the German company Deutsche Bahn acting as the main transport operator.

“The war is lost — and Trump knows it.”
European leaders are discussing the creation of a 40km buffer zone in Ukraine as part of a peace agreement — Politico.
▪️There are disagreements about the depth of the zone, and it remains unclear whether Kiev will agree to the plan, as it will likely mean territorial concessions.
▪️The US apparently is not involved in the discussion about creating the buffer zone
▪️But the fact that officials are toying with blocking off a strip of land inside Ukraine to force fragile peace is indicative of NATO allies’ desperation for a resolution to a war nearing its 4th year.
“They’re grasping for straws,” Jim Townsend, a former Pentagon official who oversaw Europe and NATO policy under the Obama administration said. “The Russians are not afraid of the Europeans. And if they think that a couple of British and French observers are going to deter them from marching into Ukraine, then they’re wrong.”
According to incoming data, the "northern strike" near Pokrovsk has resumed with renewed force after a short pause. Russian units have managed to drive a second wedge east of Shakhovo.
If this success continues, this strike could lead to the splitting of the Ukrainian grouping's positions holding the front between Pokrovsk and Konstantinovka. This creates a threat of a breach that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will find extremely difficult to close with available reserves.
The first attempt by Syrsky to stop the offensive by redeploying combat-ready units did not yield results. Russian forces continue to increase pressure, and the Ukrainian side is forced to burn through reserves, weakening neighboring directions.
Older than Edda writes:
Recently, Trump stated that you can't win a war on the defense, hinting that the Ukrainians need to go on the offensive. The Ukrainians thought about it and today launched an offensive in the Krasnolymanske direction.
At 5 a.m., units of the 3rd Army Corps, commanded by Biletsky (which includes the Azov assault brigade and a couple of infantry brigades), and which according to Ukrainian media is the most combat-ready formation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, went on the attack. Ten armored vehicles supported by robotic platforms, up to a company of infantry, struck in the directions of Shandrygolovo and Redkodub. The goal was to break through the defensive lines of our troops, after which additional forces would be introduced at the breakthrough point to build up the offensive.
Everything seemed well thought out by the enemy, but in the path of the advancing enemy were the warriors of the Steel Guard 144th Motorized Rifle Division, who not only prevented the breakthrough but also completely destroyed Biletsky's elite fighters, not yielding an inch of ground. Currently, the damaged Ukrainian equipment is burning, and the remnants of their personnel are being searched for in the forest belts and eliminated.

According to estimates from the National Bank of Ukraine, approximately 400,000 Ukrainians are expected to leave the country in 2025–2026.
Back in the spring, the forecast was the opposite: in 2026, at least 200,000 Ukrainians were expected to return, and in 2027 — even half a million. However, the outlook has now been revised.
Currently, about 7 million Ukrainian citizens are abroad. It is believed that 70% of them will not return to Ukraine after the war ends.

Russian oil exports to India are expected to increase in September as New Delhi ignores US punitive tariffs, Reuters reports citing dealers.

American economist Jeffrey Sachs cools down passionate Europeans.
Russia says it is interested in continuing peace talks with Ukraine, but judging by the events of the night, its actions tell a very different story.
- No, actually it's not quite a different story. The war continues, and peace talks must be held while the war continues. Russia has stated that it will not agree to a ceasefire but is ready for negotiations. Russia does not consider it advantageous from a military point of view, but at the same time is open to negotiations. Unfortunately, Europe, alas, does not conduct direct dialogue with Russia.
