The agreement calls for EU imports of US energy, which currently are mainly crude oil and LNG of $250B a year for 3 years
This is a delusional level of imports that the EU has virtually no chance of meeting, and one that US producers would also struggle to supply
Even if the EU did manage somehow to boost its energy imports from the United States to the $250B a year mark, it would also prove massively disruptive for energy flows around the rest of the world.
The EU imported 3.38B barrels of seaborne crude oil in 2024.
Assuming the 2025 volume stays the same, this means the EU will pay about $236.6B for its crude.
The EU's imports from the US were 573Mbl in 2024, which if replicated this year would be valued at around $40.1B
For LNG, the EU imported 82.68mmt in 2024, which would have cost around $51.26B
Total EU imports of coal in 2024 were worth $6.72B, assuming an average price of $200 per ton, with those from the US valued at $2.67B.
Total of that is $64.55 billion or 26% of the $250B.

🇷🇺🇰🇵DPRK Chooses Russia: Kim Jong Un's Sister Rejects Dialogue with the US and South Korea — Politico
- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is choosing Russia and does not intend to make concessions to the US and its allies. This is evidenced by comments from the sister of the North Korean leader, writes Politico.
- Earlier, Kim Jong Un's sister Kim Yo Jong stated that Pyongyang "has nothing to talk about with Seoul" due to its hostile actions. She also criticized the proposal of South Korea's new Minister of Unification Jeong Dong-yeon to "return to dialogue," calling these proposals "loud statements" that conceal previous positions.
- As Politico writes, the DPRK "does not intend to return to diplomacy with the Republic of Korea and the US in the near future" and remains committed to cooperation with Russia, as well as supporting Russia's actions within the framework of the special military operation in Ukraine.

According to incoming operational information, the Ukrainian command has begun the early redeployment of troops amid the inevitable loss of Pokrovsk.
In particular, transfers of units from the southern sector — from the borders of Kherson and Zaporozhye regions — westward, to the area of Dobropillia, Mezhova, and Prosyana, are being recorded. This is precisely the section where, according to Ukrainian statements, a new line of defense was being constructed.

🇺🇦🏃Khokhols seem to be happy to escape from Pokrovsk.

Ansarallah (Houthis) announced the group will target any ships operated by companies that do business with Israeli ports
In response to the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the continued siege on the Palestinian people, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced the start of the fourth phase of their naval blockade against Israel. This includes:
⭕️Targeting all ships belonging to companies that deal with Israeli ports, regardless of their nationality or location.
⭕️A warning to all companies to immediately stop dealings with Israeli ports, or face military targeting.
⭕️The Yemeni military affirms that all its operations will stop only if the Israeli aggression on Gaza ends and the siege is lifted.

THE “BUY NOW, PAY LATER” MODEL EXPLODES IN THE USA, EVEN FOR BASIC NECESSITIES
The annual volume of “Buy Now, Pay Later” (BNPL) transactions is expected to reach a record $116.7 billion in 2025.
That would be double the 2022 total and seven times the 2020 total.
The use of BNPLs is exploding as consumers are increasingly looking for ways to borrow for spending.
A survey by LendingTree showed that about 25 percent of users now rely on BNPLs to buy groceries, up sharply from 14 percent last year.
Meanwhile, nearly 25 percent of BNPL users missed at least one payment in 2025, up from 15 percent in 2021, according to Fed data.

Medvedev on the US deal with the European Union:
Trump has crushed Europe.
It must be acknowledged that, despite his extreme contradictions in statements and actions, in one thing he is quite consistent. Trump is aggressively pushing the economic interests of his country.
The current "deal" with the European Union:
1) is completely humiliating for Europeans, as it benefits only the US – it removes protection of the European market by eliminating tariffs on American goods;
2) creates huge additional costs for industry and agriculture in many EU countries to pay for expensive American energy carriers;
3) redirects a powerful flow of investments from Europe to the US.
And of course, the "deal" is clearly anti-Russian in nature, prohibiting the purchase of our oil and gas. But if for Trump this is mainly business, for the crazy old lady Europe – it is part of a neo-Nazi ideology that harms the welfare of its own citizens.
One can only sympathize with ordinary Europeans. Now is the time for them to storm Brussels to hang all the Eurocommissioners on the flagpoles of the EU countries, including, of course, the furious old Ursula. It won't help, of course, but at least it will be fun...

🇪🇺🤡Ursula von der Leyen on the EU replacing Russian energy supplies with deliveries from the USA:

On July 27, the Sever military group continued to establish a security zone in the Kharkov and Sumy regions.
In the Sumy direction
The enemy is regrouping its forces. Assault units were partially withdrawn from the line of contact to replenish losses, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces command transferred combined groups of soldiers from mechanized brigades to the front line. At the same time, fierce fighting continues in the forest areas near Alekseevka and Yunakovka.
▪️Our marines and motorized infantry, breaking through the enemy's stubborn resistance, drove the Ukrainian occupiers out of several strongholds in the forest belts west of Yunakovka.
Directly in Yunakivka, our paratroopers destroyed several enemy combat groups and cleared an important stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a residential area on the southwestern outskirts of the village.
▪️Representatives of the command of the 61st Mechanized Brigade left Sumy. Despite the assignment of several companies of the 141st Mechanized Brigade, the 61st Mechanized Brigade was unable to restore its combat capability.
On social media, the enemy continues to publish information about the participation of various Spec Ops units that had not previously been involved in the conflict in combat operations on the "Sumy front."
The enemy did not take any active action in the Tyotkinsky and Glushkovsky directions, focusing its efforts on replenishing its units. The northerners promptly detect and destroy enemy reserves being transferred to this section of the front.
As a result of our firepower in the vicinity of the villages of Ryzhevka, Peresypka, and Solyaniki, several combat groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as an enemy UAV crew, were detected and destroyed.
In the Kharkov direction
Fierce fighting continues in Volchansk and the surrounding forests, as well as in the vicinity of the village of Melovoye, where the enemy is throwing assault groups into battle in an attempt to recapture lost positions.
In the Velikoburluk direction, despite growing enemy resistance, our units continue to advance deep into the Kharkov region.
▪️The enemy launched two unsuccessful counterattacks: by forces of the 143rd Mechanized Brigade southeast of the village of Chugunovka and the 22nd Mechanized Brigade near the village of Zarubinka. Both assault groups were destroyed during small arms battles and fire from our UAV operators and artillerymen.
As a result of the fire damage, the Northeners destroyed ten enemy combat groups.
In the Volchansk and Liptsy directions, sixteen Ukrainian Armed Forces assault groups were destroyed along with their vehicles and several Ukrainian Armed Forces mortar crews as a result of the fire damage.
▪️Our assault groups drove the enemy out of their stronghold west of Volchansk and continued their advance through the forest in the direction of Sinelnikovo.
In the urban area, our artillerymen and UAV operators destroyed several enemy combat groups attempting to entrench themselves in buildings in the southern part of Volchansk. Severian assault groups, breaking through the enemy's stubborn resistance, drove the Ukrainian occupiers out of several houses and are now consolidating their positions.
Over the past 24 hours, enemy losses amounted to over 170 people (including more than 100 in the Sumy region and over 70 in the Kharkov region). The following were also discovered and destroyed:
In the Sumy region:
▪️Kozak armored vehicle;
▪️D-30 howitzer;
▪️three mortars;
▪️six pickup trucks, four ATVs, and a truck;
▪️an ammunition depot;
▪️six UAV launch sites;
▪️twelve aircraft-type UAVs and nineteen drones.
In the Velikoburluk direction:
▪️three pickup trucks;
▪️two mortars;
▪️UAV launch sites;
▪️an aircraft-type reconnaissance UAV and three drones.
In the Volchansk and Liptsy directions:
▪️three mortars;
▪️four pickup trucks and a truck;
▪️a warehouse of equipment;
▪️seven satellite communication stations;
▪️six UAV launch sites;
▪️five aircraft-type UAVs and sixteen drones.

A massive combined strike was carried out on a military airfield in the Starokonstantinov area (Khmelnytskiy region) — a key hub of Ukrainian tactical aviation.
Both strategic Tu-95MS bombers launching Kh-101 cruise missiles and a group of Geran-2 kamikaze drones were involved — more than 10 units in total. The scheme is classic: a wave of UAVs to reveal and disperse air defenses, followed by a strike with precision weapons.

Chinese company Unitree Robotics has launched the humanoid robot R1 for sale at a record low price - $5,900. Bloomberg reports on this.
According to Morgan Stanley, the cost of the most advanced humanoids in 2024 reached $200,000.
The cheapest robot in the world weighs only 25 kg, has 26 movable joints, and is equipped with artificial intelligence with speech recognition and image recognition functions.
Chinese companies are actively developing the humanoid market, aiming to challenge American leaders such as Boston Dynamics. The price reduction could play a key role in the widespread adoption of such devices in everyday life, manufacturing, and other areas.
