The city has air defence systems in place, and Israel is striking areas in the west of the city.
In addition, Israeli media reports that the IDF has struck a Houthi headquarters in Yemen.
Israeli forces reportedly attacked a building where the Houthi leadership was holding a meeting, targeting Houthi chief of staff Mohammed al-Amri.
