Investigative bodies have identified another Ukrainian serviceman involved in shelling civilians in the Glushkovsky district of the Kursk region. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
According to the investigation, between September 2024 and February 2025, Viktor Garnaga, serving in the 21st separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, carried out illegal orders from the command while in positions in the Kursk and Sumy regions. During this period, he fired at least a hundred mortar shots at populated areas of the region where civilians live.
During interrogation, Garnaga fully admitted his guilt and gave detailed testimony. He explained that the coordinates for the mortar attacks were transmitted to him from the command posts of the Ukrainian military, who received orders with the call signs "Psychologist" and "Romashka". The department emphasized that following the investigation, measures will be taken to bring to justice all those involved in these criminal actions.

Karol Nawrocki, the opposition-backed candidate in Poland’s presidential election, has officially accepted the demands of anti-Ukrainian Confederation party leader Sławomir Mentzen – including a pledge not to support Ukraine’s accession to NATO – in exchange for his endorsement in the second round of voting.
- I will not allow Polish soldiers to be sent to Ukrainian territory.
- I will not sign a law ratifying Ukraine’s accession to NATO.
- I will not agree to transfer any powers of Polish authorities to the institutions of the European Union.
- I will not ratify any new EU treaties that would weaken Poland’s role, such as by reducing its voting rights or removing its right of veto

'The US won't abandon us, but they won't fight for us' – Lithuanian Defense Minister Šakalienė on strategic signals to Russia.
'As for the US, yes, we know that we don't have an alternative to the US yet. We really need them. But, thank God, in the midst of many changing narratives, there are two stable positions that have not changed.
First, the United States will not leave NATO - this has been said both publicly and in private conversations by both President Trump and members of his administration.
Second. The US will not abandon us. They will help. They will not fight for us, but they will support us. For me personally, this is very important.
These two positions also carry a strategic signal to Russia.'

Professor Michael Clarke revealed who and what was whispering in Biden's ear about the war in Ukraine.
'During the Biden administration, Tony Blinken, the secretary of state, was very pro-Ukrainian. He wanted to give Ukraine everything it needed to make a change. But Jake Sullivan, the national security adviser, was very cautious.
He kept telling Biden, 'Escalation. Risk of escalation.' And as a result, the Biden administration became known for: They gave Ukraine enough not to lose, but not enough to win.

The Norwegians spent 7 billion euros on the war with Russia, but this is not enough for the NATO Secretary General. He says that we need to pay until Ukraine wins.
'Ukraine must win. We must not allow a situation in which this war ends the way it did in Minsk in 2014. The peace must be lasting. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin must never again try to attack Ukraine. And the Norwegian contribution to this, and I repeat the figure, is seven billion euros. This is a colossal amount of money. I sincerely admire this.'
Ukraine faces growing risk of total military collapse unless deal is reached — 19fortyfive
➖"If Zelensky and his European backers believe that the besieged Ukrainian army can continue to fight indefinitely, losing thousands of soldiers every month , and that there will never be a break in the lines - or a troop revolt - they are playing Russian roulette . No one can tolerate such losses and fight like robots forever," the publication writes.
▪️It is also noted that Russia and Ukraine have "completely irreconcilable positions", and it can be argued that now "they are even further apart than they were on April 18."

Russian Advance in Ukraine Is Slowing Despite Putin’s Confidence - Bloomberg
Russian forces in Ukraine have made only small territorial gains this year amid steady resistance from Kiev’s military, undercutting President Vladimir Putin’s assertions that his army has gained the upper hand in the war.
Battlefield data indicate that — despite a consistent advantage in manpower and steady gains — Putin’s military has fallen far short so far of satisfying his war aims. The pace of Russia’s main advance in eastern Ukraine has halved since the start of the year compared with a similar period through the end of 2024, according to data compiled by the DeepState open-source mapping service.
As President Donald Trump pulls back from US efforts to end the fighting, Putin’s envoys have continued to issue maximalist demands for Ukraine to cede four regions in its east and south over which the Kremlin has claimed sovereignty, but that Russia only partially occupies. Zelensky has rejected the ultimatum.
Russia’s military has advanced on the order of about 41 square kilometers per week (16 square miles) into Ukrainian territory on average, down from about 125 square kilometers averaged from mid-August through the end of last year, the data tracked by Bloomberg showed.
Fighting on the ground paints a different picture. Public data also show that Russia has seized less than a quarter percent – 0.15% – of Ukrainian territory since January. The eastern Donetsk region, which has seen the war’s fiercest fighting and has been partially occupied for over a decade, still isn’t under Moscow’s full control.
