President Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill" Dead on Arrival in Committe after five house republicans vote NO
The Trump agenda suffered a major setback today after a handful of Republicans voted a key bill delivering it down in committee. Now, the largest tax increase in American history looms unless the GOP does an about-face.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, the House Republicans on the Ways and Means Committee — led by Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO) — previously released the text of a monumental new tax reform package titled “The One, Big, Beautiful Bill.”
The 389-page bill includes a long list of pro-growth, "America-First" provisions that echo many of the successful features of the 2017 Trump Tax Cuts this time with no taxes on tips and overtime.
One particular gripe was reportedly the Medicaid “cuts” and the expiration of several wasteful ‘green’ energy tax credits were pushed back several years, while most of the “goodies” were delivered up front. Trump’s “The One, Big, Beautiful Bill” cannot move forward to a full vote in the House or Senate—at least not in its current form.
Worth noting that if this bill passes, it will add $2.5 trillion USD to the already massive American deficit. $3.3 once interest rates are factored in.

US to start European troop withdrawal discussions later this year, US NATO ambassador says - Reuters
The United States will begin discussions with European allies to reduce U.S. troops in Europe later this year, US ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker said on Friday.
Asked to comment on a report that the Trump administration is considering withdrawing troops from Europe, Whitaker said "nothing has been determined".
"But as soon as we do, we are going to have these conversations in the structure of NATO", said Whitaker.
"It will be certainly after the summit, sometime later in the year, we are going to start those conversations... All our allies are ready to do it", he added, referring to the NATO summit in The Hague in June.
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told NATO allies in February that "stark strategic realities prevent the United States of America from being primarily focused on the security of Europe".
The Atlantic reported in March that Hegseth and Vice President JD Vance had complained about European allies in a chat group. Hegseth expressed his "loathing of European free-loading", according to the Atlantic.
Such comments have fuelled European fears about the US commitment to NATO, along with Trump's threats not to protect members that spend too little on defence, and his reluctance to keep supporting Ukraine's fight against Russia's invasion.

Fat chance of it ever happening. Neither Brazil nor China are ever going to exert pressure on Russia on this issue. Brazil and China will NEVER put pressure on Russia for a few reasons:
Reason number 1: They're both leading BRICS countries alongside Russia and heavily reliant on Russian energy exports and trade.
Reason number 2: The Narcoman has repeatedly spat on all their previous attempts at mediation, without mentioning all the times that Ukrainian political officials have insulted China more or less openly. Let's not even get into the topic of India, between that unhappy idea of a blasphemous drawing of their goddess Kali, and some Verkovna Rada deputies calling indians "Sh*tskins".
Reason number 3: The last time China was trying to mediate between Russia and Ukraine, the Kursk incursion happened. Xi Jinping is reportedly still furious over that slap on the face, and unlikely to forget. Ukraine also recently tried to tie Chinese volunteers to China’s direct involvement in the war. It also confiscated Chinese investments in Ukrainian companies.
At best they'll issue a couple of generic token statesmens on how they are always committed to a peaceful resolution and that's it.
The Kremlin for its part has remained lapidary: first a peace settlement under THEIR conditions, THEN a ceasefire. There's no chance they're ever going to stop until they get what they want, especially right now that the RUAF are approaching Slovyansk, Toretsk, and Kramatorsk.

European leaders unhappy with Russia-Ukraine talks
▪️British Prime Minister Starmer said that Russia's position in the negotiations is "unacceptable" and he accuses Moscow of delaying the ceasefire.
▪️French President Macron said that Russia ignored the demands of the US, Ukraine and Europe for a ceasefire.
▪️Polish Prime Minister Tusk said that the Kremlin refused to conduct dialogue with the participation of the United States and put forward unacceptable conditions.
▪️Italian Prime Minister Meloni called for a ceasefire and security guarantees for Ukraine.
▪️German Chancellor Merz accused Moscow of disrupting the talks, but noted that the talks had produced "a very small, but first positive signal."
▪️It is worth noting that the statements of the Russian and Ukrainian delegations following the negotiations were constructive, and the parties did not voice any mutual accusations.

Western media publishes Russia's demands in negotiations with Ukraine

These are Ukrainian sources. One has to be careful. Ukraine and European leaders are trying to frame Russia as unreasonable and preventing peace. Even if they were Russian positions, both sides start with maximalist demands.

Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelensky, said the country would not agree to a ceasefire and said Kyiv would not accept any deal with Moscow that involved ceding territory.
Making concessions would backfire on Ukraine because Russia would hit back harder after any break in fighting, he added.
Podolyak's comments came before Polish President Andrzej Duda addressed Ukraine's parliament on Sunday. He said that ceding even 'one inch' of the country's territory would be a blow to the whole West and reassured Kyiv of Warsaw's strong backing for its European Union membership bid.
'Worrying voices have appeared, saying that Ukraine should give in to (President Vladimir) Putin's demands,' Duda said, the first foreign leader to address Ukrainian lawmakers in person since Russia's February 24 invasion.
'Only Ukraine has the right to decide about its future... nothing about you without you,' he added, to a standing ovation in the chamber.
Speaking in an interview on Sunday, Podolyak hit back at voices calling on Ukraine to make concessions to end the war.
'The war will not stop (after any concessions). It will just be put on pause for some time,' he told Reuters in an interview in the heavily guarded presidential office, where some of the windows and corridors are protected by sandbags.
'After a while, with renewed intensity, the Russians will build up their weapons, manpower and work on their mistakes, modernise a little, fire many generals and they'll start a new offensive, even more bloody and large-scale.'
Recent calls for an immediate ceasefire have come from U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi.
Podolyak dismissed the calls - that would involve Russian forces remaining in territory they have occupied in Ukraine's south and east - as 'very strange'.
Both sides say peace talks have stagnated. Each blames the other. However, a ceasefire would play into the Kremlin's hands, Podolyak said.

Scale of Ukrainian losses: bodies of soldiers exchanged – 34 for 909
Russia handed over the bodies of 909 dead soldiers to Ukraine and received 34. The exchange was confirmed by the Ukrainian Coordination Headquarters for Prisoners of War. The figures show the real state of affairs at the front.
Most of them were liquidated in the Kurakhovo, Pokrovsk, Artemovsk, Ugledar, Zaporozhye, Sumy, Kharkov directions and in the LPR. Some of the bodies were returned from morgues in Russia.
This is not the first exchange with such a gap: on March 28 there was an exchange of 43 for 909, on April 18 – 41 for 909.

🇩🇪Rearmament: Germany is at it again!
Boris Pisstorius, Germany's defense minister, is planning to introduce new legislation for the drafting of German citizens into the military.
Boris Pistorius said the proposed bill would allow the government to send letters to all young men who turn 18 — about 400,000 every year — asking about their willingness and ability to serve in the military. Under this bill, those who receive the letter would have to fill out the questions. The army would then invite those interested in serving for a medical checkup and choose the most qualified to serve in the military for a period of 6-23 months.
Speaking to reporters in Berlin, Pistorius explained that the threat levels have changed from what they were a few years ago.
“Russia has now been waging a war against Ukraine for two and a half years — it is not only calling the rules-based international order into question, it is destroying it,” he said. “This is a new threat situation.”
Pisstorius intends to bring the number of active personnel to above the 200.000 mark, following a constant process of degradation of the Bundeswehr's combat capabilities. "

This could have all ended 3 years ago: a statement by the head of the Russian delegation, where he recalled the agreements in Gomel back in late February 2022.

Trump says he may call Putin to discuss Ukraine settlement — CNN
