Biomes of India

The five biomes of India are:

✅It is an important stopover along the Central Asian Flyway, with 58 migratory waterbirds using it to rest & refuel.

✅5 Main critically endangered species inhabit the site, including three vultures – the red-headed vulture (Sarcogyps calvus), white-rumped vulture (Gyps bengalensis) and Indian vulture (Gyps indicus) – and two waterbirds, the sociable lapwing (Vanellus gregarius) and Baer’s pochard (Aythya baeri)

✅KVIC is set to replicate the Project at Village Dholera in Ahmedabad in Gujarat & Leh-Ladakh region also.

✅Reasons for selecting Bamboos - Grow very fast & in about 3 years’ time, they could be harvested.They conserve water & reduce evaporation of water from the land surface.
