تولید تک‌فوتون یکی از پیش‌نیازهای اساسی در توسعه فناوری‌های نوین، از جمله محاسبات کوانتومی است. در این حوزه‌ها، دستیابی به تک‌فوتون‌هایی با دقت بسامد بسیار بالا اهمیت ویژه‌ای دارد. اخیرا گروهی از پژوهشگران موفق شده‌اند در تولید تک‌فوتون‌ها به دقت بسامدی در حدود یک در صد میلیون دست یابند. برای درک بهتر این میزان از دقت، می‌توان آن را با اندازه‌گیری فاصله بین تهران تا مشهد با خطای تنها یک سانتی‌متر مقایسه کرد.

You'll be working at the intersection of:
📡 Free-space optical (FSO) satellite communications
🔬 Silicon photonics design and fabrication
🛰 Optical ground stations
🤩 This is hands-on experimental and/or simulation research with real-world impact, by designing the chips at the heart of the telescope receivers, enabling high-bandwidth, turbulence resistant, interference-resistant optical links between satellites and ground stations that bring data speeds into the 100s of Gbps from the current limits of what Starlink and other RF-to-ground comms constellations can support.

💡One of the biggest reasons is spherical aberration
🔎 Spherical aberration is an optical defect that occurs when light rays passing through the edges of a curved lens or mirror refract (bend) at different angles than rays passing through the center
🌠 Because they do not converge at a single focal point, the resulting image appears blurred or softened
🔎 Flipping a lens around can change the amount of spherical aberration, as described in this video

💼 Internship Opportunities – Post-Quantum Security Engineering
🔎 Quinfosys is seeking applications for Post-Quantum Security Engineering Interns to work on next-generation cybersecurity technologies, Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Quantum-Safe Security Architectures, Cryptographic Engineering, Secure Communications, and Quantum-Resilient Systems.
📝 Requirements:
• Python Programming Skills
• Knowledge of Cryptography and Cybersecurity Fundamentals
• Understanding of Public-Key Cryptography, Digital Signatures, and Secure Communication Protocols
• Interest in Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) and Quantum-Safe Security
• Familiarity with NIST PQC Standards (ML-KEM, ML-DSA, FALCON, SPHINCS+) is an advantage
• Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
• Passion for Quantum Computing and Cybersecurity
Freshers and experienced candidates are welcome to apply.
Preference will be given to IIT graduates and candidates from premier institutes.
