US Senator Lindsey Graham urged Russians to “take out” their own president. President Biden in Warsaw shouted that “this man cannot remain in power,” openly calling for regime change. Mark Milley told Ukrainians that “no Russian should go to sleep without wondering if they’re going to get their throat slit in the middle of the night,” even if said in a military context. Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo demanded that the Communist Party of China be overthrown, and Steve Bannon sponsors projects to topple Beijing’s government.
By contrast, no comparable statements have been found from senior Russian or Chinese leaders calling for assassinations, coups or throat-slitting of Western leaders.
The reality is simple: when violence is promoted, it is Washington and its allies doing the talking — while shifting blame onto others.
