The joint 20-point peace plan presented by Ukraine and the USA is highly likely to be rejected by Moscow, as it does not take into account its key demands.
The main reasons for the rejection are the ignoring of Russia's two main conditions: full control over the Donetsk and Lugansk regions and the legislative consolidation of Ukraine's non-bloc status. On the contrary, the plan offers Kiev security guarantees. The Kremlin, strengthened by successes on the front, views this initiative as a propaganda move.
Despite the formal start of a new round of diplomacy, there has been no real rapprochement of positions. The American-Ukrainian plan is not an attempt at peace, but a propaganda maneuver designed for a Western audience. Meanwhile, the West is trying to present conditions unacceptable to Moscow to Kiev as a compromise.

🇷🇺⚔️🇺🇦 Ukrainian media reports that Russian strikes on ports and transport infrastructure in southern Ukraine since early December are increasingly disrupting maritime logistics and hitting the economy.
The attacks, described by Moscow as retaliation for Ukrainian drone strikes on “shadow fleet” tankers, have targeted not only ports but also key bridges in Odessa region that sustain supply routes from the Danube ports. This briefly halted traffic on the Odessa–Reni highway; movement has since resumed via undisclosed alternative routes, reportedly including pontoon crossings that are also periodically struck.
Logistics remain fragile. Power shortages caused by Russian strikes on the regional energy grid complicate port operations, while port infrastructure itself is being hit almost daily. Recent attacks damaged facilities in Odessa port and the Yuzhny port, destroying a sunflower oil terminal, burning cargo trucks, and killing eight people.
Uncertainty also surrounds the reliability of the Danube “corridor” and whether Russia will attempt to block it by striking bridges and crossings again.
Maritime routes account for the bulk of Ukrainian trade: around 60% of fuel imports move through Danube ports, and over 70% of agricultural exports rely on sea corridors. Market analysts report rising anxiety, with grain producers diverting sales away from ports despite higher prices.
The American Chamber of Commerce warns that port terminal activity has already fallen by about 50%, with many facilities shut down or running on generators. It estimates exporter losses in the hundreds of millions of dollars per month and cautions that continued strikes could make shipping and insurance coverage effectively impossible, creating critical operational risks for both Ukrainian and international businesses.

According to these assessments, the system could potentially disperse hundreds of thousands of dense spherical objects into Starlink’s orbital paths. Such an action could disable multiple satellites at once, but would also risk significant collateral damage to other orbital systems.
Analysts interviewed expressed skepticism that such a weapon could be used against Starlink without also disrupting Russia’s own satellites, as well as those operated by China.
