Senator Lindsey Graham told CBS News what to expect from Trump’s upcoming statement on Russia.
First, he pointed to possible moves regarding Russia’s frozen assets.
“Watch for news about the seized assets. I don’t want to speak ahead of the President, but the Europeans want to cap the interest that goes to Ukraine. Treasury Secretary Bessent wants to go further,” Graham said.
He also spoke of a plan where the U.S. will start selling large volumes of weapons to European allies — supposedly to help Ukraine.
“I expect a record flow of weapons in the coming days to help Ukraine defend itself,” he said.
Graham also confirmed that Congress is close to passing a sanctions package targeting countries that buy Russian oil and goods.
The tariffs may not be fixed at 500% as earlier proposed — Trump will have authority to set them between 0% and 500%. “He’ll have maximum flexibility,” Graham stated.
“Congress is about to pass the most significant sanctions package in U.S. history. It will give President Trump tools he doesn’t have now — a real sledgehammer. The main violators are China, India, and Brazil. India buys cheap Russian oil and resells it. It’s disgusting. I spoke with Trump, and last week he said it’s time to act,” Graham added.
He said Trump wants to force those supporting Putin to choose between the U.S. economy and backing Russia.
“China, India, Brazil — you’ll suffer if you keep helping Putin,” Graham said.
At the same time, he claimed Trump has kept the door open for talks with Russia, but “that door is about to close.”

🇦🇲🇺🇸🇦🇿 The United States is reportedly preparing to lease the Zangezur Corridor—a critical strip of Armenian land linking mainland Azerbaijan with its Nakhichevan exclave—for a staggering 100 years.
According to Middle East Eye, this was disclosed by U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack, who noted that a powerful American private company may take over control of the corridor. The proposal reportedly originated from Ankara.
The corridor is of immense geopolitical value: it directly connects Azerbaijan with Nakhichevan and, by extension, with NATO ally Turkey. For Washington, securing long-term control over this transit route would serve Western military and economic ambitions in the South Caucasus—at the direct expense of Armenia’s sovereignty and regional balance, handing a strategic corridor to a foreign power under the guise of “private enterprise.”

Assault groups of the 37th Guards Motor Rifle Brigade continue to successfully attack in the direction of Voskresenka, two AFU positions came under their control.
➡️5th Army Sector:
Assault detachments of 127th motorized division continue to break the enemy's defenses northeast of Kamyshevakha. They captured two AFU positions in two forest lines. There are also local success southeast of Temirovka.
1466 Guards Motor Rifle Regiment of 127 Motorized Rifle Division conducted a series of successful attacks in Malinovka, took control under 90 percent of the village. The total losses of the AFU in this area over the past 24 hours amounted to up to 85 KIA and up to 5 destroyed vehicles.
Other sections of the front remain stable with no significant changes.
