United could be in their worst form ever but suddenly remember how to play against us.
Expecting a tough game with numerous chances, whoever is ruthless wins. Cut out the mistakes, remain solid, don’t concede penalties and the three points is ours.
A Neto goal today will be much appreciated also, main thing here is the win though. Let’s go Chelsea 💙
🗣️ Ally McCoist: "There’s a debate to be had that Cole Palmer is the best player in the Premier League.
Some people will say that he is and I’d have to agree with them! He produced the pass of the decade against Newcastle for Nicolas Jackson’s goal.
He turns, plays the ball inside Tino Livramento, Jackson finishes it off, and before the ball hits the back of the net my son calls me and I just said immediately to him: ‘That’s the pass of the decade’."

Enzo Maresca ahead of @ManchesterUnited [A] in the Premier League:
📈 𝐎𝐧 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬:
“We are looking good. The players, they are all available.
“Except for Jadon [Sancho], he has been ill in the last few days but he cannot play anyway [ineligible vs parent club].”
🤔 𝐎𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐫:
“We prepared for the Newcastle game to win but unfortunately we lost.
“Every game, we prepare to try and win. The reason we make changes is because we are all one team and they all deserve to play.
“With Cole, I hope so [he plays well]. He is going to play, I hope! Cole is doing very good and I said at the start of the season that if we expect 20 goals and 20 assists from him again, then that’s wrong.
“We shouldn’t put that pressure on him. He needs to enjoy his football and when he does that, you can see what he can do.
“Cole plays well even when he doesn’t score because he allows the rest [of the team] to play in the right way. He’s a very important player for us.”

Enzo Maresca on Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat against @Newcastle_United [A] in the Carabao Cup fourth round:
🤝 “I think it [making 11 changes] worked if we analyse the performance. If we analyse the result, then it didn’t work.
“But I think for 23 minutes, until their goal, we were in control of the game and didn’t concede anything. Then after the goal, we lost control for ten minutes, when we conceded the second goal, and then for the last ten minutes of the first half, we created two or three clear-cut chances when we unfortunately didn’t score and in the second half we were in control of the game.
“So I know the most important thing is the result but with the performance, we lost the game because of ten minutes and for the rest we were quite good.”
🧠 𝐎𝐧 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲’𝐬 𝟐-𝟏 𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞:
“I didn’t see a big difference [in how Newcastle played tonight]. I think in the last game they were more or less in the same way as tonight, trying to be aggressive. Today I think we did quite well.
“The first goal is one we can avoid because we know playing through the middle, we know they are quite aggressive so the solution was to go outside but it can happen.
“I didn’t see a big difference between tonight and Sunday. For sure, they needed to win this game to build momentum because of their last results.”
📈 “We need to get better at many things but we didn’t concede any chances from their pressing three days ago because we contacted not with the first line. We always tried to contact with the second line because we know they are very aggressive.
“Two days ago, we did very well and I think we did very well tonight apart from the goal we conceded. But for sure we have many things we can do better.”
🤔 𝐎𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡:
“It was simply because Joao [Felix] and Christo [Nkunku] were doing very well and it was just in case we needed Cole but because they were both doing well, there was no need to change.”
