❗️The ACT's former attorney-general Gordon Ramsay is facing a raft of new charges after he was arrested last year for grooming a young person.

The arrest sent shock waves through Canberra when Mr Ramsay, the former Labor politician, was initially charged in October.

He was to have been committed to trial in the ACT Supreme Court today, but instead his lawyers turned up to court to ask for more time to prepare the case.

That's because he is now facing seven more charges which include two counts of committing an act of indecency on a person under special care, and several counts of using a carriage service for child abuse material and to menace, harass or offend.

The offences all relate to the same alleged victim.

❗️Reuters reports that the missiles for the Patriot system are likely to be manufactured in Germany, not in Ukraine.

Sources familiar with the discussions told the agency that the new interceptor missiles will likely be produced in Germany or another European country where it is safer, and production could be moved to Ukraine after the war ends.

At the same time, even in this scenario, rapid deliveries should not be expected. Germany, which has developed its own production chain for PAC-2 interceptors, will not manufacture the first missiles until early 2027 – three years after signing an agreement with the American manufacturer Raytheon. Negotiations regarding the production of the more modern PAC-3 are currently not yielding results.

Earlier, Zelensky, after meeting with Trump, stated that a political agreement had been reached for the United States to grant Ukraine a license to manufacture missiles for the Patriot system.

❗️Derryn Hinch, the outspoken — and at times controversial — media figure and former senator, has died aged 82.

The barnstorming journalist was known for his distinctive broadcast style, honed over decades in the media, as well as his law-breaking crusades to expose sex offenders that earned him several stints in jail.

He also became infamous for suppression orders to expose paedophiles, which saw him convicted three times.

He was fined and jailed for 12 days in 1987 for identifying paedophile Catholic priest Michael Glannon while a criminal trial was pending.

He spent five months in home detention in 2011 for breaching suppression orders over two other offenders.

A few years later, he opted to spend 50 days in prison rather than pay a $100,000 fine for airing details about the criminal history of Adrian Ernest Bailey, the killer of ABC employee Jill Meagher.

Hinch claimed the public's right to know about sex offenders was more important than laws of contempt and sub judice.

❗️Global wheat prices have jumped by more than 4% following Ukrainian attacks on Russian ships in the Sea of Azov, according to Bloomberg.

The publication reports that Ukraine has already struck 76 ships in recent days, including cargo ships transporting grain. This has disrupted shipping in the Sea of Azov.

Meanwhile, Russia is targeting port infrastructure in Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Izmail, through which Ukrainian grain is exported, which is also driving up global prices

Note: Russia is the world's largest wheat exporter, often shipping over 45 million tonnes per year. If this continues the world will face a famine.

❗️Zelensky finally admits the presence of an ammunition depot in Vishnevoe

Previously, former SBU employee Ivan Stupak had said that the explosion and subsequent detonation occurred on the territory of one of the enterprises of "Ukroboronprom."

Now, according to Zelensky, there will be dismissals within "Ukroboronprom." The Ukrainian General Staff, however, stated that the facility did not belong to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

First, they talked about "falling debris," and then suddenly – oh, it turns out there was an entire ammunition depot there.

According to available information, approximately 280 buildings were damaged as a result of the powerful explosion, with 91 of them completely destroyed.
