❗️Anthony Albanese has recalled parliament early to deal with sweeping hate speech and gun laws in the wake of the Bondi terror attack.

The prime minister announced in Canberra the government would introduce legislation that would designate hate crime a "serious" offence and set up a national gun buyback scheme.

"The terrorists at Bondi Beach had hatred in their minds but guns in their hands. This law will deal with both and we need to deal with both," Mr Albanese said.

The federal government has been consulting on proposed changes to strengthen hate speech laws, including creating a regime for listing so-called hate organisations.

The laws will expand the ban on prohibited symbols and make it easier for the home affairs minister to cancel a visa.

❗️The US State Department has approved a deal to sell AGM-114R Hellfire missiles to Denmark under the FMS program for an amount of about 45 million dollars.

The package includes:
• 100 AGM-114R Hellfire missiles;
• three AGM-114R Captive Air Test missiles for testing;
• six Hellfire (Longbow) M299 Hellfire launchers;
• two MHU-191/M trailers;
• three BRU-14 ejection systems.

The US Government insists there will be no adverse effect to US defence readiness arising from this sale.

So Denmark is arming itself to defend Greenland against a US invasion by stockpiling US missiles?

❗️Belgian Defense Minister Theo Francken proposes a NATO invasion of Greenland before the US military have a chance to deploy there.

"Greenland is not Venezuela or Iran. This is a crucial issue for NATO's survival. US military intervention there is unacceptable, otherwise it will end very badly," Francken said on VTM television.

He reported that he had met with the US ambassador to Belgium and the American representative to NATO, and told them that a US invasion would create major problems. According to the minister, he was given the response that the United States does not intend to conquer Greenland, but wants to buy it.
