Has had a decades long, close association with Alexis Rosentool and has been a frequent visitor to Rosentool’s remote hideaway at the Holy Transfiguration Monastery near Bombala NSW.

Has often spoken of Rosentool in gushing terms, seemingly unable to contain his giddy admiration for Rosentool’s supposed raw masculinity, high level of spirituality, mastery of the works of the Holy Fathers and the next-level strictness of his ascetic lifestyle.

Has led numerous clandestine, “invitation only” molebens (prayer services) at Pokrov Cathedral for Rosentool supporters and even commemorated him during the Litany of Fervent Supplication in the middle of the holy liturgy. We are told that this practice stopped after several outraged parishioners objected and threatened to leave the church if it continued. One irate parishioner rightly pointed out that if Karipoff had his priorities right, it’s the victims that he should be praying for, not the perpetrator.

Gave his blessing for the creation by some of his parishioners of a website, fralexis.org supporting Alexis Rosentool and designed to pressure the hierarchy of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russian in regards to the Rosentool scandal.

When hearing of the arrival of police at the Rosentool compound at the beginning of the police investigation, made an urgent mercy dash, several hundred kilometres to Bombala, together with another Rosentool fanboy, the Deacon Alexander Abramoff. It’s said that at this time Fr Nicholas was hysterical with anxiety and almost in tears that his mentor and friend Rosentool, had finally been apprehended and that the truth of his crimes would be revealed for the whole world to see.

Had often suggested to new converts to Orthodoxy in Melbourne, that they could visit the Rosentool monastery in Bombala to get a more intimate experience of the Orthodox Faith.

Our sources have also confirmed that not only is Fr Nicholas a Rosentool supporter but also his fellow clerics Deacon Alexander Abramoff, Fr Gennady Baksheev and Fr Mark Wolozsn.

In his life he did a lot to establish connections between the Cossacks of Zabaikal and Australia.

Zhiryakov lobbied the establishment of contacts with Australian Cossacks to Russian foreign institutions; the Chairman of the Commission on International Activities of Cossack Societies and Associations of the Council for Cossack Affairs under the President of the Russian Federation, Director of the Department for Relations with Subjects of the Federation, Parliament, and Public Associations of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Zhiryakov believed that the Zabaikal region should maintain ties with overseas Cossacks.

Жиряков в свое время направил обращение о налаживании контактов с российскими загранучреждениями Председателю Комиссии по вопросам международной деятельности казачьих обществ и объединений Совета по делам казачества при Президенте РФ, директору Департамента по связям с субъектами Федерации, парламентом и общественными объединениями МИДа России О.В. Васнецову и считал, что Забайкалью надо поддерживать связи с заокеанскими казаками.
