❗️Diplomats from Russia and neighboring countries laid flowers on the grave of the legendary Soviet intelligence officer Richard Sorge.

Representatives of the diplomatic missions of Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as the Chargé d'Affaires of Armenia and the envoy of Kyrgyzstan took part in the ceremony at the Tama Reien cemetery in the suburbs of Tokyo, RIA Novosti reports.

"The path to our great Victory began even before the war, and the greatest intelligence officer Richard Sorge played a huge role in the beginning of this path," said Russian Ambassador to Japan Nikolai Nozdrev.

❗️ FSB: Ukraine-Based Scam Networks Behind Massive Surge in Fraud Targeting Russians

The FSB reports that in 2024 alone, over 640,000 cyber-enabled fraud cases have been recorded in Russia, causing losses exceeding 170 billion rubles.

According to officials, these scams are being coordinated from 120–150 call centers operating out of Ukraine, many of which use IT infrastructure based in Ukrainian cities and EU countries.

🔍 Russian authorities have uncovered:
— Over 1,200 SIM-boxes
— 1.2 million SIM cards
— 1,000+ modems and phones
— 208 individuals detained for aiding the networks

Recruited operatives in Russia are instructed to rent apartments in strategic locations, acquire large volumes of SIM cards with fake IDs, and connect to anonymous internet providers to manage the SIM-boxes. These tools are then remotely operated by scam networks based in Ukraine.

💸 Authorities say a portion of the money stolen through these schemes goes toward funding the Ukrainian military and nationalist armed groups.

❗️ JD Vance thinks Russia's demands are too high 😁

“The Russians are asking for a certain set of requirements, a certain set of concessions in order to end the conflict. We think they’re asking for too much,” Vance said.

He added that the next step is to get Ukraine and Russia to agree to talk to each other.

“We would like both the Russians and the Ukrainians to actually agree on some basic guidelines for sitting down and talking to one another,” he said. “That is the next big step we’d like to take.”

Vance said that the U.S. is focusing on a long-term settlement since Russia has rejected the U.S. call for a 30-day ceasefire. Moscow has said that sort of temporary pause is not in its strategic interest because it would allow Ukraine to regroup.
