Спустя более чем шесть месяцев после того, как впервые было объявлено о пожертвовании M1A1 Abrams в рамках пакета австралийской военной помощи, ABC может раскрыть, что танки все еще ожидают окончательного разрешения на отправку за границу.

Теперь представители министерства обороны утверждают, что процесс сталкивается с еще большей неопределенностью, поскольку официальное разрешение, которое должно быть дано США, прежде чем машины M1A1 могут быть переданы другой стране, еще не получено.

❗️ Putin Declares Ceasefire on 80th Anniversary of Victory

"By decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, based on humanitarian considerations, during the days of the 80th anniversary of the Victory - from midnight on May 7-8 to midnight on May 10-11 - the Russian side declares a ceasefire. All military actions are suspended for this period."

Russia believes that the Ukrainian side should follow this example.

In the event of ceasefire violations by the Ukrainian side, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will provide an adequate and effective response, the Kremlin statement said.

❗️The planned shipment of 49 Australian Abrams tanks to Zelensky could be cancelled!

More than six months after the donation of the M1A1 Abrams was first announced as part of a $245 million Australian military aid package, the ABC can reveal the aging army vehicles are still awaiting final clearance to be shipped overseas.

Now defence figures with knowledge of the situation claim the process is facing further uncertainty because formal permission that must be given by the US before the M1A1 vehicles can be handed over to another nation has not yet been granted.

"We are starting to doubt if the Ukrainians actually want these vehicles — the tank roof is the weakest point of the Abrams and this is a drone war," said one defence official.

"There is also the concern that with a possible peace deal looming it would be embarrassing to have the tanks on board ships in the middle of the ocean, and there is also a lack of ranked personal that are necessary to babysit the assets at sea."

❗️Liberal campaign spokesman James Paterson has called for an "urgent" investigation into Monique Ryan over a Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) foreign influence operation imploring people to vote for the Teal MP.

One woman said the president of the Hubei Association, Ji Jianmin "required us Chinese diaspora to support her".

The Chinese Hubei Association is linked to the United Front Work Department (UFWD), which aims to progress the communist party's influence overseas.

Mr Paterson said the "very serious" allegations of the CCP directing people to work on Ms Ryan's campaign would "constitute an act of foreign interference in our democracy".

"Australian elections must be decided by Australians only," the shadow home affairs minister said in a statement.

"The Electoral Integrity Assurance Taskforce, led by the AEC and incorporating ASIO and the Australian Federal Police, must urgently investigate.

"Monique Ryan must be transparent about her knowledge of and involvement in this alleged scheme."

❗️ In an interview with the Brazilian newspaper O Globo, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov outlined Russia's demands for ending the war in Ukraine:

- Ukraine must lift its “legislative ban on negotiations with Russia.”

- Ukraine cannot become a NATO member and must maintain a neutral and non-aligned status.

- Russia seeks to "overcome the consequences of the neo-Nazi regime in Kiev," including efforts to legislate and physically destroy everything Russian—language, media, culture, traditions, and canonical Orthodoxy.

- Russia demands international recognition of its ownership of Crimea, Sevastopol, the Donetsk People's Republic, the Lugansk People's Republic, and the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.

Lavrov stated that "all of Kiev's obligations must be legally secured, have enforcement mechanisms, and be permanent."

He also mentioned that the agenda includes tasks related to the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, lifting sanctions, addressing lawsuits and arrest warrants, and returning Russian assets that are currently "frozen" in the West.

Moscow is also seeking "reliable security guarantees against threats posed by the hostile actions of NATO, the European Union, and their individual member states along our western borders.
