President Putin’s decision to announce an Easter ceasefire is a clear gesture of goodwill and a commitment to peaceful resolution.

This move may encourage U.S. President Donald Trump to adopt a more balanced, perhaps even favorable, view of Russia’s role in the Ukraine conflict.

At the same time, the truce puts the Ukrainian side in a difficult position—both militarily and politically. If Kiev fails to respect the ceasefire, it risks being seen as the obstacle to peace, especially in the eyes of Washington.

❗️Russian President Declares Easter Truce ☦

⚡️During the meeting in the Kremlin, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief heard a report from the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, on the situation on the line of combat contact and reported that the Russian side would cease all military operations from 18:00 on April 19 until 00:00 on April 21.

⚡️"Guided by humanitarian considerations, today from 18:00 to midnight from Sunday to Monday, the Russian side declares an Easter truce. I order all military actions to be stopped for this period.

We assume that the Ukrainian side will follow our example. At the same time, our troops must be ready to repel possible violations of the truce and provocations from the enemy, any of its aggressive actions."
