🇧🇷 Brazil Central Bank CBDC Adoption (pilot) & Collaboration with Chainlink, Microsoft, and Banco Inter 🌟Brazil’s financial sector is launching the second phase of the Central Bank's CBDC project - pilot.
🎯 The initiative brings together Microsoft, Chainlink, Banco Inter, and 7Comm where each of these institutions will have a special role in contributing to the pilot program, targeting improvements in cross-border agricultural commodity transactions and supply chain processes.
Bruno Grossi, Banco Inter’s head of emerging technologies in a news release with Cointelegraph stated “We see collaborating in this project with technology leaders like Microsoft and Chainlink Labs as a transformative opportunity to expand market reach and improve the health of the Brazilian market.”

Fireblocks and NongHyup Bank have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to use Fireblocks Tokenization Engine for VAT and GST refunds at retail locations. ⚡ UAE Exempts Crypto Transactions From Value Added Tax
Crypto in UAE just got a lot more attractive as the UAE’s Federal Tax Authority announced amendments to the country’s VAT rules on October 2nd.
“The exemption makes clear for the first time that the tax doesn't apply to digital assets. It covers the exchange of and transfer of ownership of those assets, which means all cryptocurrency transfers and conversions will now be exempt from paying the 5% levy”. The UAE maintains its position as a major center for digital assets, which is encouraging for cryptocurrency investors.
The prerequisite for this decision was the preparation of the virtual assets regulatory ground. On Sept 9, the UAE’s federal financial agencies - Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority (VARA) and the Securities And Commodities Authority (SCA), agreed on mutually supervising virtual asset service providers (VASPs). Due to this agreement, VASPs operating in Dubai who want to acquire a license from VARA also have the option to service the wider UAE by being registered by default with the SCA.

Within the framework Project e-HKD+ Visa and ANZ plan to utilise a new tokenisation solution designed to help banks issue fiat-backed tokens in a sandbox environment to test a Delivery vs Payment (DvP) settlement use case, involving e-HKD and tokenised bank deposits.
What does it mean for us?
✨ The new tokenisation solution will be a great opportunity for blockchain & fintech builders to leverage the power of traditional Web2 financial market and the innovation of Web3 technologies.

Future of Digital Banking - What's coming next year?
SWIFT will trial live transactions of tokenized assets like bonds, and digital currencies next year.
According to Nick Kerigan, SWIFT's head of innovation “now we see industry demand to move out of that (trial) phase and see a digital asset really move, and have a counterparty pay them in real money against that”.
This adoption has its obstacle. So far, these have failed to gain substantial traction in the wider market. While SWIFT is slowly but surely becoming swift, we’re continuing to focus on the global “tokenization process”.
⚡ How does this benefit us?
With this possible SWIFT update, trading will be quicker, cheaper and more efficient, including by cutting out middlemen involved in many transactions. We’re optimistic about this kind of Fintech adoption, Zima Bank is aimed to stand in a forefront of banking digitalisation.
